View 5 RepliesI need some help linking live content to a iphone / ipad using flash media server 4.5. View 1 RepliesWe are live streaming to iphone/ipad and jwplayer for desktops. We have used adobe encoder and wirecast and with both products if we stop and then restart a stream, the iphone/ipad receives a short loop of the old stream instead of what is currently playing. The only way we can make it play the live video is to stop the encoding, then clear the stream files from the server, inside the stream package, and then start the stream again. Is there some setting that is causing this behavior?
View 4 RepliesIt's a bit vague - the whole thing with AMF. On one hand we have a client capable of serializing and sending everything from integers to XML documents and ByteArray streams, but on the other hand we have the FMS with a JavaScript host. Where is the bridge? :-) I mean how does one work with the objects, in particular, a ByteArray, received through the [generic] wire? It's easy with numbers and strings, but no word on more complex objects.
View 2 RepliesI'm struggling to get things going on the HTTP live streaming side.
I'm using FMLE 3.2 w/ Flash Media Server 4.5.
Format: H.264
Frame Rate: 29.97
Bit Rate: 800Kpbs

So...it seems like no stream is being created in the livepkgr. What can I do to troubleshoot?
I install the latest version of apache before the FMS4. After the installation completed, I copied webroot, applications and other files to the web sites home directory. I also updated the FMS.ini file in the config folder. Because I am not familiar with FMS, I don't know whether the change is correct or not.

Is it a FSM problem or Flash Player problem?
I have a virtual directory (Storage Area Network) in 'C' drive as well as in "webroot" folder in Flash Streaming Server. What do I need to do to make RTMP videos work from SAN directory on Flash Streaming Server. It works fine for http. RTMP from vod -> application folder works fine. I have done a lot of research and found out that we can use virtual directories for streaming videos. I am unable to find steps on how to use it..

View 1 RepliesCan Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 run on AMD Athlon Dual Sock Quad Core?I just requested a Dell server to be added to our farm to run as a Media Server and to my surprise, while reading the requirements for FMS it states the following: 3.2GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 processor (dual Intel Xeon® or faster recommended)

View 13 RepliesWe (the university I work for) want to add an IP camera to the top of a building (so it has to be IP, we can't put a machine up there, so USB is out of the question) to stream a live view of the quad. The problem is, I can't find a way to stream any IP Cameras through the flash live encoder. I tried a camera by Axis, but their capture driver only supported MJPEG which the live encoder does not.
View 3 RepliesI'm running Flash Media Streaming Server and have only been serving VOD up until now. I had my network administrator open up port 1935 to the outside world during the setup process and now I can't remember if that was actually required for streaming VOD to clients. Most documentation I've read says that this port should be open, but I seem to recall reading something at one point that suggested it wasn't necessary.
I've just started messing around with publishing live streams using Flash Media Live Encoder to the Flash Media Streaming Server. I have that working without issue but was surprised to find that no authentication is required before a client running the live encoder can publish a stream to the Flash Media Streaming Server. An authentication module is available however it only works with Flash Media Interactive Server and Flash Media Development Server.
If I leave port 1935 open to the outside world, there would be nothing to stop anybody anywhere from streaming video via my server. Anyone else running a default install of Flash Media Streaming Server and with port 1935 open to the outside should see that this is true of their setup as well. I'm wondering if I can safely close port 1935 without limiting the functionality of the server or if there's some way I can require authentication prior to publishing a live stream even though I'm not on the four-and-a-half-times-more-expensive edition of the product.
We are streaming a one hour F4V from streaming media server 3.5.2 and for some reason it is seeing our one hour video as being 10 hours long. We have tons of other videos and never ran into this problem in any of the other files. This is the only file that exceeds one hour. This occurs in the default player from the streaming server.

View 1 RepliesI would like to ask if Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server (not Interactive) supports the following Stream.play (server-side streaming), but not necessarily server-side playlists which I know is a FMIS featureunsigned server-side asctionscripts (main.asc) The difference is in the price of course, one is $1000, the other is $5000, so if the two above are supported, I will buy FMSS

View 11 RepliesI am trying to make clients to connect FMS4 server over RTMFP for my video conferencing application. It is basically a client-server media relay application in which clients with webcam/mic connect the server and the server relays video/audio data to other clients. This application is working perfectly with FMS 3.0 but it was RTMP rather than RTMFP - I simply replaced 'RTMP' with 'RTMFP' in netConnetion and tried to test in Flash Media Development Server 4.0, but it is failed to make a connection from a client - it was working after replacing it back with 'RTMP' of course.
I believe server-client media relay is possibe using RTMFP in FMS4 because Adobe said:"Although RTMFP is often used for peer-assisted networking applications, you can use RTMFP in unicast, broadcast, and multi-point publishing applications as well. Simply replace the RTMP protocol in the NetConnection.connect() call with the RTMFP protocol:" in url...
I'm building a video conferencing applicaition for a portal. But now when considering which version of flash media server to buy, I run into some problem. So can anyone helps me about comparing this two versions: Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive server, like if I use Flash Media Streaming Server, some function like NetStream.pause() may not work or something like that? I'm not sure if this is a foolish question but please let me know.
View 3 RepliesI need to serve live video streams to Flash players, Apple devices, and Android and Blackberry handhelds. Right now I'm using FMS (actually, the CDN I stream through is running FMS), and configuring Wowza Media Server to suck the Flash stream from FMS and reprocess it for Apple, Android, and Blackberry. It works well, but it's kind oif a PITA having to have a separate server just to handle mobile devices.
Is anyone aware of any plans to release a version of FMS that will stream directly to Apple and Android? I saw a video clip on Techtilt of an Adobe presentation at NAB where they were showing live streaming to iPad, but that clip didn't way anything about when we might actually see that version of FMS become available.
I am trying to create a flash player to stream an on online Internet radio station using FMS. I chose FMS after being told that I need RTMP server to extract the metadata. Our radio audio is being encoded using a DJ interface called SAM Broadcaster. But for some reason, it does not have an option to send over the stream directly to a Flash Media Server. Only options are either IceCAST or ShoutCAST. How should i setup the stream? Should it be Stream encoder>> IceCAST/SHOUTCast Server>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client. Or should I setup Stream Encoder>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client? Shouldn't Flash Media Server be an alternative to IceCast or Shoutcast? If that is the case, how do I send over the stream from SAM Broadcaster directly to Flash Media Server without restreaming through another streaming server?

View 12 RepliesI have a windows server box 2008 R2 with Adobe Flash Media Server installed on it version 4.5. I have installed Flash Media Server and input the serial and all that fun stuff. All ports have been forwarded properly, Once the server is up and running I go to the admin console just to make sure all is running well. Once up and running I turn to my Media Encoder and enter my FMS URL as well as the stream, (livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent). I select my input device and it connects and says streaming to primary. Now Yesterday I did this and it was streaming correctly i check with my ipad and the livepkgr was working, I have live video on my ipad. I then went to my website to check and make sure all was working on there and sure enough my live event was being streamed to there was well! Sweet right? No wrong....The server was shut down after this test trial assuming everything was working.
When I turned it on today the flash media encoder still connected and streamed right and when i check the ADMIN console it appears to be working and connected the right way, but my problem is when i go to my website i just get a black screen with nothing playing on it, and on my ipad for some reason I get the last 30 seconds of a piece of the live clip we where streaming last night and then it stops.......I have nooooo clue what is wrong and it is driving me up the wall. My hope is to be able to stream from my mac to my Media Server and then be able to embed it into my website as well as have it playable on ipad/Android (havent worked on android part yet because of this whole problem).
I am developing Video Chat over Ip (including audio and text too). But I am unable to get the proper startup material for my desktop application.
View 2 Repliesi have a small LAN of about 8 computers all of which are running windows 7. I have installed FMS and XAMPP webserver on one of the machines. I want to stream live from one PC to all the other PCs on the LAN. I have a webpage with jwplayer embedded in it on my XAMPP webserver that is able to see the live stream when i start it locally. I mean the live stream works fine on the machine with the servers on it. But when i want to view the live stream from another machine in the LAN by accessing the webpage that has the jwpalyer from another machine, The jwplayer returns "server not found:rtmp://192.168.10.1/live" error. I was thinking that maybe a firewall is blocking the 1935 port but i have turned off the firewall of every PC on the LAN. I have unistalled any antivirus program on all the PCs. But i still get the same error when i try to access the live stream from another PC on the LAN.When i run netstat -a -n|find ":1935" i get 192.168.10.2:49184 192.168.10.1:1935 SYN_SENT and i think the request for the stream is sent but the conection is rejected.
This is the code for the webpage with jwplayer embedded in it. maybe it:
