I need to record what's streamed to the livepkgr application as an MP4 file (or convert it afterwards).As of the default settings the livepkgr applications records all incoming streams as an F4F file (using the main.asc file that came with the installation).I've tried streaming and recording an H.264 videostream with AAC sound (as per these instructions)
If I move this recored file to another application and rename it to MP4 an external player (JWPlayer) can play the stream just fine, as can iOS devices (though with some minor issues when scrubbing).The renamed file won't open in Windows Media Player or Quicktime Player, though.
I've tried using the f4vpp tool and processed the video into another MP4 file. This file streams just fine to the external player as well, and it resolves the scrubbing issues on iOS devices.The file now opens in Windows Media Player, but Quicktime Player still won't open it with the following message: "Error -2002: a bad public movie atom was found in the movie (filename.mp4)"I really need the livepkgr application to record in a format that either is by default, or can easily be converted to, a proper MP4 file that can be opened in all applications.

I have FLV files streaming fine from the media folder in the applications folder.I want to split up the videos into folders to make them more manageable.If I create another folder in the applications folder at the same level as the media folder and put a video in there the video does not play.

We are able to successfully use livepkgr to generate an HLS stream. We are using FMLE as the encoder. If we do any video switching, the HLS stream will die. Should livepkgr be capable of video switching?

I'm using the Niagara 4100 streaming appliance to encode a live multiple bitrate streams for an event. The problem is the Niagara encoder doesn't allow me to attach an event name to the stream url like - 'streamevent%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent', instead it only allows 'streamevent%i'. So in the end I get three seperate events with a stream for each event.
Like so:
Example:
/Events/streamevent1/MNMMNNMxxxxx.stream
/Events/streamevent2/MNMMNNMxxxxx.stream
/Events/streamevent3/MNMMNNMxxxxx.stream
AND
/Streams/streamevent1/files
/Streams/streamevent2/files
/Streams/streamevent3/files
Is it possible to make it work this way without using the 'adbe-live-event' parameter using the .f4m manifest file?

Create a new folder named AudioStreams at C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 4.5applications. Open the AudioStreams folder and add a new folder named streams. Inside this folder place a new folder named _definst_ and copy the four audio files in the Exercise to the _definst_ folder. I recently installed FMS 3.5.1 and then upgraded it to 3.5.3 on a Windows 2003 server. In both versions, I can not stream .f4v or .mp3 from a subfolder. The .flv file plays fine. I used the default configuration settings, sample .f4v and .flv files provided by the installer. I used the sample player in C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 3.5samplesvideoPlayer as the client.

Currently we have a swf file application that runs in a browser and takes the live video stream from the camera on the computer and streams a live sorenson spark stream to the fms 3.5 server.
Question is: How to live stream vp6 from the browser/swf file on the camera computer, instead of the sorenson spark. (We seem to be stuck only on sorenson spark).

In Video 1, she shows how to stream a single file. I've done everything to the letter on this video, however, when she uses the videoplayer to reference the livestream.f4m file, there is none. I've actually checked the folder location(apploications/livepkgr/streams/_definst_/livestream and there are files in there (.f4f and .f4x), but no .f4m which is the file she references in the video player.
In Video 2, she shows how to create a multi-bitrate video stream. Using the manifest packager and creating a .f4m and .m3u8 package and placing it in the webroot folder. Here is the contents of my liveevent.f4m file:

I have successfully been able to write some client-side ActionScript that allows me to record my webcam and mic data to my FMS server. The .flv files get saved to a directory under the applications directory. However, I need to process those flv files for a web application and would like those .flv files to be saved to the web app's directory (outside of the FMS application directory). I have tried changing the <Streams> tag in the Application.xml file that I placed in the FMS application directory, but that simply did not work.My goal is simple: to save the recorded stream data outside of the FMS application's directory. I have been going crazy trying to do this, but would like to know any pointers that any of you experts have. Can this be done? If not, how can I execute a server side PHP script after the stream is done recording. I know about using the exec() function in PHP, but am unsure as to how to execute that script via client-side actionscript.Here is the path to my FMS server (Linux OS) installation and the application directory. Only just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?

I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.
