Move From Localhost To Web Server Environment?

Nov 12, 2009

Are there any Air + Zend Amf examples that use a real world web server and not localhost?

Basically I cannot get an Air or Flex application connected to a remote mysql db to work once deployed. How can I successfully move a finished application to a normal web server (website).

When testing everything works no problem but as soon as I deploy the gateway.php (regardless of where i put it on my web server) will not connect. I've even tried flash builder 4 auto generated code and still no luck

I'm developing a flash thingy that connects to the youtube api. The website that contains the flashthingy is developed locally on my computer. I don't konw why flash does this, but it doesn't connect to anything on the real web. E.g. the youtube api. As soon as I deploy the project to a real server everything works fine.

Since I have a lot of dev still before me I'd love to test this stuff locally. what I have to do in order to get flash connected to real websites?

Media Server :: Fms OnLoad Fails In One Environment But Not Another

Apr 3, 2010

I have an application that was running at influxis, no problem. The server side script performs an XML sendAndLoad, and then calls the client based upon the xml response. But then i installed my main.asc file into a different dev environment and the xml.sendAndLoad request totally fails. Using onHTTPStatus, I discovered that the error type is <100, with an error code of 0. According to Adobe, a 0 indicates that things were fine.

I then implemented the onData method as shown in the adobe docs, and 'src' is coming back as undefined. The network engineer has confirmed that there are no network/firewall issues that would impact FMS talking to our application server, so FMS and the app server are free and clear to communicate with each other. Is there some sort of other setting that needs to happen to allow FMS to send and receive data? Is there something else I'm missing here?

Media Server :: Apache In FMS 4 Developer Vs XAMPP Environment For PHP?

Sep 15, 2011

1.Have a Flash Webpage under development designed to permit preview and streaming of FLV video.Downloaded FMS Developer as a test server on my computer.Apache 2.2 loads with it with a checkbox option to install it or not. I'm able to stream my video OK in this setup using RTMP://localhost and the FLVPlayback component in Flash Pro.I like some of the OSMF players better like the one in the FMS Start Screen, but I haven't been able to integrate/embed it into my Flash webpage using the HTML provided.They say just paste it to the webpage, but in ActionScript how do you do that?how to embed Strobe Media Player into an FLA webpage using their HTML.

2.I plan to use PayPal Express Checkout for Digital Goods (EC/DG) as my pay facility on the Flash webpage. My videos will play to a cuepoint and then jump to a PayPal button which executes (EC/DG) .I'm having trouble integrating PayPal with my Flash webpage. There's a lot of online help, but most solutions involve PHP. I bought the e-book, "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 for PHP" which recommends downloading the XAMPP platform which contains Apache, PHP, MySQL etc.

(a) If I use the XAMPP software, as recommended in the Dreamweaver book, do I have to first uninstall the Apache that comes with FMS? I assume you can't have two Apache's running at the same time.

(b) Is FMS the Server or is Apache the server in the FMS installation?

(c) Does the Apache software installed with FMS include PHP and MySQL, which seems to be required for any server-side coding?

I want to use FMS with Amazon Web Services to implement my Streaming Video Project, but I'm not sure I can do it with all the problems I'm encountering.Two final questions:

3.Why would I need Flash Builder if I have Dreamweaver?Don't they do essentially the same thing?

4.I'm trying to do in 1 and 2 above just using ActionScript and JavaScript, which I understand is just Server-side ActionScript?

Media Server :: Flash Media Interactive Server On Virtual Environment?

Mar 5, 2009

We will only use the servers for Live streaming and VoDs, so far no plan for any complex applications to be deployed on the servers yet. As
far as I understand, the bottleneck of streaming servers are with network connection rather than CPU or resources (servers are only support up to 4GB of RAM anyway).

Flex :: Error : Unable To Contact The RDS Server "data Services On Tomcat (localhost) Connection Refused: Connect

Dec 5, 2011

I'm making a program in flash builder 4.5 using WebOrb 4 (which is fantastic, I might add). When I go to deploy, however, it gives me this error:

>There was an error during model deployment for xxxxProgram.

>The server returned the following message:
>
>Unable to contact the RDS Server "Data Services on Tomcat (localhost)."
>
>Connection refused: connect
>
>Do you want to continue launching your Flex application?

I've poked around online for a solution, but for the most part I either don't understand them (forum grammar can be somewhat obtuse) or the answer in the post doesn't apply.

Flash :: Why Do URLReqeusts Not Load Files When Move Them To A Web Server

Jan 11, 2012

When developing a flash project on my machine I can use something like:

var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("images.xml");
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, handleResult);

[Code]....

As long as the images.xml file is located in the same directory as the .fla then it works fine. However once I move the .swf, .xml and my images to the web it all goes down the drain. The .swf can no longer find the .xml file and I know why. Using FlashBug I can read the error in the console.

IOError: [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: http://www.mydomain.com/images.xml"]

And there's the problem when I move my .swf to my web server the URLRequest adds my domain to the request. Since the file was just located in the same directory on my machine it didn't cause an issue to just say "images.xml" but now in order to make it work I have to change it to [URL]

I want to know if there is a way to force the .swf to just continue to look in the directory it is in for the files it needs. I think having to spell it out is counter-intuitive because then I can't just move the files without having to re-write my AS3 code.
