Nov 16, 2011I am developing a simple application using flex which records a video with my webcam and stores it to the media server and then i pull it in order to show it.The problem is that the quality of the video played is blurry while it is displayed with the same size as captured. I have played a lot with the values in the functionsbelow where i attach my cam to the netstream objec: cam.setMode(640, 480, 25);cam.setQuality(0,90);and the result is an flv video which i play later on but with not a good quality. The server is on my pc so i dont have transfer delays because of low connection. Whatcan i do to have a better output? i use netstream play method to play the video and i do the following
video = new Video(640,480);
video.attachNetStream(ns);
video.smoothing=true;

Sep 9, 2010I was wondering if I were to create a NetStream object and publish it passing in "record" (allowing the end user to record a video via webcam which is then stored on the FMS), how would I specify the bitrate and frame rates etc of the video being recorded? Is this something I need to configure flash media server to do or can I do this through action script?

May 25, 2009As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?

Aug 10, 2011I need to mix 2 sound data, one is a mp3 sound byteArray and the other one is a recorded sound byteArray. I use URLLoader to load the mp3 external file into a byteArray. The sound is recorded on a microhpone and stored in another byteArray. I need to save to a file - the mp3 comes first and the recorded sound after. I am using WavWriter to write it out as a wav file.
The mp3 is in 44Khz and 16-bit rate. The recorded sound is in 44Khz and 8-bit.Is there a way to do this? I have researched for a few days already and tried a few things, but still cannot find the correct way to do this.

Nov 17, 2010You could capture the sound into a ByteArray and save the bytes in a file or a database. Have a look at the SampleDataEvent on the Microphone class, and the ByteArray class. As for the php I think you want to look at mysql functions or fopen() and fwrite().

Games can usually be easily retrieved from the browser's cache and then decompiled, which is not good for their developer but I can't say the same about many flash sites (not all of course).

Sometimes the presenters stop broadcasting temporarily and we just switch to a blank window. The stream on the server side stops recording at that point by calling[code]...

How can I preventive this from occuring. Is there a way to have all vod files that are in one folder to roll over to the next file during play back.

Sep 4, 2010I'm creating a Flex application that enables users to communicate in a kind of video chat room. I only allow to live streams at any given moment. I'm using FMS to record the videos in FLVs. What I need to do is post process those videos and create a single video with all that happened in the video room. That means that I need to combine 2 videos, reduce the size of one of them so it appears over the other one. In other words one video will use the whole space an the other will appear at the upper left corner (over the other video,).
I need a server side solution for this. I created another post here and someone suggest a screen capture solution. That would work perfectly, but since this appliction will be used for several people and any time, I want the process to be automaticaly not manual. So, I'm thinking I can do it with FFMPEG, but I need a way to identify in which order I need to compose the videos. Something like adding a time stamp to each FLV in FMS (when they are recorded). How can I add custom metadata to the FLV?

Oct 31, 2011I am trying to record a video chat being done through FMS. I have made my program start recording only when the second stream publishes. Then, I stop recording when either streams stops publishing. In my last test I recorded a 45 minute chat. The resulting flv files show that there are 13 seconds difference between them. The video gets more out of sync as it goes along. My first guess is that it is something to do with dropped frames. Is there any way to force FMS to fill in dropped frames. I'm posting my code for starting and stopping recording:

Flex :: Recorded Audio Playback Cuts At End
Aug 9, 2010I'm writing a flex app, which must record an audio and then playback. It records just fine, I can hear the flv on the server, but when it comes to the playback it cuts the end a little bit, and each time I ask to reproduce again it cuts a little bit more. I guess it's something related to buffer management, but I don't know exactly.
Here's the code I'm using to playback. It is called from a mediator:

Jul 30, 2011exporting a bytearray to a wav or mp3 (or anything that runs!) from my flash code to my php page. I am using microphone recorder to record voice, i use a a url request to send my ByteArray to my PHP page.i send the bye array from flash like this:

Media Server :: Playback F4v Files Recorded In FMLE?
Feb 25, 2010my name is Göran and I know this is probably the wrong place to post my question but as far as I can see there´s no forum for FMLE here. I´m using the betaversion for mac. I was broadcasting to justin tv last night and decided to try out the record feature i FMLE. It looked like it worked ok and a 125 mb f4v landed on my harddrive. There´s no way I can play it back though or for that matter convert it mov etc etc. What am I doing wrong do I need another special app for playback or converting. Seem a bit strange if this feature is onboard the FMLE but you can´t use it.

Aug 20, 2010In my tracking I records the voice, it generates the file (if i download I was able to listen to it), but if I try to play, it doesn´t play. If I use FP9 r124 it works, using FP10r53 or the latest 10.1.82.76 it fails !!! all with the same SWFhas anyone experienced the same? I can not ask everyone to downgrade the flash player.
