I am trying to obtain an effect which the car is getting gradually blotted out with the zooming black rectangle but how to get it right, from a few frames and on the car still appears, do I need further masking?

So I figured out how to make a zooming effect for my animation, but it isn't smooth. I have it set at 30 FPS. What can I do?

I'm wondering how I can do the same without having to just enlarge or reduce a movieclip across the stage. Is there any way to add a camera view on your animations or do you just have to bear with Flash's basic necessities?
View 1 RepliesI need to have a shape (black rectangle) that will cover the stage. It should resize with the stage when needed. I'm trying it with the following code, but when it's resizing, there is a clipping effect that is visible and it is not fluid. How can I prevent this?

View 3 RepliesI have a container (CONTAINER_MC), containing one or more containers(CONTAINER_01_MC) that is rotated arbitrary. Inside these containers I have one or more MC's (MC_01, MC02...)
I want to achieve the effect of zooming and centering in on MC_01, MC_02 ect. I'm scaling and rotating CONTAINER_MC to get this effect, I figured out how to calulate the rotation and scale. But I am having difficulties calculating the X and Y position of CONTAINER_MC.

But I cant figure how to calculate the new X and Y for CONTAINER_MC the ensures that MC_01 is centered on stage.
how to zoom the image displayed with the help of an item renderer.If i apply the Zoom effect on rollover ,the particular cell zooms the image with the scroll bars. Is their any other way of doing this without showing the scrollbars.

Basically I want to know if there is a way to go from a zoomed in version of something, and then seeing the whole image in another frame. (By pressing a button)
Let's say there's a tree, I would bascially like (upon pressing a button which I can do) to zoom out and see the whole scenery. Is there a way I can do this without actually changing the size of the image?
I'd like to have my viewers mouse over any of the MovieClips on the scene and using the keyup / keydown have only that MC scale up or down. The scaling should only effect the moused over MC.Here is what I'm using for the scaling on one MC now...

I am quite new to Flash and I want to make the following. I want to have a video (avi, mpg or something else) playing. But you should see only a part of the movie (a smaller rectangular "window"). Through this window I want to be able to zoom in on the movie, and move it, so you can see different parts of the movie.
Is such a thing possible in flash? If so, can you give me some tips on how to start?
Since at least cs3, Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop has all had the Alt + mouse wheel zoom function. I have wondered when this would become available in flash. I just installed my cs5 design premium and immediately noticed that the zooming function has been further improved in the other programs but still nothing has happened in flash.
Am I missing some way to enable this zoom function or is there some third party plugin that can help me? It is annoying and time consuming to have to press z then click around to get the right zoom level and then click whatever tool I was using before instead of just pressing alt and scrolling a bit.
Is it possible to convert an image (runtime) in Actionscript 3.0 from black/white to black/*color* ...Does someone know a solution? Matrix? Blending methods maybe? Pixel bender?

I tried them it seems not but I can't tell unless it's a big difference in brush size like the paintbrush tool.

View 1 RepliesI got a flash file from my friend he uses Macromedia Flash 8, I use CS5.5 (Flash 11.5). When I open the file I get a blank project that looks like something should be there. Does anybody know how I can fix this. I ask my friend and he can't send anything else other than this cause this is all he has and know of the issue but don't know how to address it.

The object is a black field. The fn "setup" writes text on this field. The problem with the code commented out is that it changes the alpha of both the black field and the text, whereas I simply want to change the alpha of the black field. How can I do this? Can I do it in the IDE?
I know this is probably an easy fix, but I can't figure it out. I have made a banner in AE 5.5 that is 800 px by 150 px, I made an swf in flash but it won't play it to the size without a black bar on the top and bottom.

Everything is updated so the encoder is at verson 4.2.0.006.Now when I have some video dont for NTSC TV 720x480 (left) and I rendered (right) it using the same as source preset (9.0 or higher) and I get this big black bar on the right side of my video. I've played with the settings and resizing the video and I always get these black bars, usualy on the right and bottom of my video.I can go back to using CS3 to render my videos but they dont look as good, but I dont get a big black bar on them either.I cant seem to find any solutions with this when I do a google search.How do I get rid of these black bars?

The problem is before the load they look like a large white squares... then they load and look great... is there anyway that it can look like a large black square so that viewers cannot tell that there is something located on the black background until it loads

I am trying to fade TEXT from black color to lets say red...Well, when I try to break the text apart and make it Shape Tween - it breaks the text, mean some part of the original text disappear...When I try to Motion Tween, nothing happens... Same for classic tween :<
View 5 RepliesI am currently having a problem when launching the trial version of flash cs5.5 . The screen that says the timeleft at my trial comes up but the flash cs5.5 screen stays black and is "not responding". About two weeks ago, it worked, so i don't know what is happening. All my other programs work. I tried to reinstall it, to delete the left flash cs5.5 program files after the uninstall and many other things, but it dosen't work.Here is a screen capture of the flash cs5.5 blackscreen. notice that in the frame of the window it tells" not responding".
View 1 RepliesI need a few minor changes done to my site such as changing the text on the About page and also changing it so that when you view a picture in any of the galleriess the background is completely black, right now it just fades out the text and thumbnails and is not entirely black.
I have never used Flash before but am pretty good with Photoshop, Illustrator and a little bit of Dreamweaver. Would these changes be difficult for someone who has never used Flash but can pick things up fairly quickly? I have all the files for my website, any suggestions where I should look first to make the changes I require.
The website that I built, I used Adobe media encoder and flash to make it a .flv file, the website works fine as far as playing the pages with video in Safari and Firefox, when I go to the same website in internet explorer the video plays with a big black border each of my video's, why would that be ?
