I am looking to create flash movies that include video and that have dynamic text in them.Basically the concept is we send out an email with a link in it that has an ID in a query string value. Once the page loads It hits our database and pulls out the name of the person tied to the ID in the querystring, then the page would need to pass this information on to the flash movie and update a symbol with the text. Does this sound crazy or is it possible? We also want to export it to html5 so it works on all devices and browsers
for a school project i just have to create some product etc on adobe flash... I got a video, dynamic text that doesnt seem to show up when i click on the exe file after publishing..
I am cutting my teeth with some actionscript.My knowledge of programming and AS is limited but I am getting familiar with the language.In my fla i am using this code as a custom document class:[code]We managed to get it to preserve the aspect ratio when it detects a RESIZE event.Now, the fla file is empty. I want to use the swf this actionscript generates to call several different .flv files.The problem is, I don't know how to add functionality (for instance, a button) that is placed on top of the video. Seems the video is loaded ontop of everything else.
I want to load 2 different elements on my flash video:First is a dynamic photo (I take the specific number from an external variable)Latter is a swf video... I saw that I need a loader and I can load everything.. but how many loaders I must have? Can I use only one changing the function called on end event?
Does anyone know of a way to layer dynamic elements in AS3? Is there a z-index (or something like it) in AS3?I'm dynamically loading pictures via XML with AS3 and would like to overlay a graphic over a portion of the dynamic images.
this part gives a y position to the loaded element but, this is a standard distance between all the elements i need that the _y position will be according / next to the last element, not always with the same distance any clue?
getChildByName("name") works great if my object has been added to the stage or some MC. But what can I do if I have an object created dynamically that I want to reference later in the code but haven't added to the stage? Here's an example:
for (var a = 0; a < 10; a++) { var testObject = addChild(new BlankMC()); testObject.name = "myTest_" + a; }
[Code]....
This returns my BlankMC instance, but ONLY because it was added to the stage. If I don't use "addChild", then I get "null" because my instance is not a child of the stage (or anything else as far as I know). Is getChildByName the ONLY function for referencing a dynamic element?
Would anyone be kind enough to help me with some Actionscript code (2.0) that will automatically remove from dynamically imported html text. Basically an html page is updated by a client using a CMS system (CushyCMS) but it inserts.When the page reloads into the flash site the cause the text to break.So I would like something that either removes the or changes it to a single space that won't cause the line to break.
I need a video which has been embedded into Flash to stretch, regardless of aspect ratio.This video will then reveal some content which I don't want stretching at all.I've tried using the "exactFit" scaleMode property and tried to find a way of that only affecting the video and not everything in the swf, but I failed. I've also tried using Stage.width/height and applying it to the dimensions of the video but t
I have an array (named arrayFull), and I want my dynamic text box (named messageText) to display one random element from the array, changing once per second.The code I have makes it display all elements of the array at once in random order, changing once per second.How do I make it display just one element from the array at any given time?This is the code:
var arrayFull:Array = new Array(1,2,3,4,5); import flash.utils.Timer; import flash.events.TimerEvent;
On one page of my website, the user has a large selection of videos they can choose from.They select one, clicking the link.This opens a new page (with the player built in?) and plays the video.Can I retrieve the data from a query string (the video filename selected from the previous page) and then place it in the action script using PHP (echo) so that I don't have to have separate applications for each video? or do I have to have separate SWF/applications for wach video?
I have been working with flash remoting in actionscript 3.0 and there is no result set class. I'm fairly new to AS3, but I am very fluent with AS2, and so far the migration has been easy.I would like to create a result set class myself, but I am stuck on one part, pushing the dynamic number of elements onto the array, let me show you what I mean:
{ // start result function var totalCount:Number = rs.serverInfo.totalCount; // # of records returned var queryString:String = rs.serverInfo.intialData; // query string, each value separated
Is there anyway (with action scripting) when having a Flash Video set to Expand to 100% Width and Height to have certain elements within that video maintain their inherent size and not scale ?URL...Notice how the BG Scales, but the video in the center does not nor does the footer. Is this performed with CSS and using multiple DIVs with varying Z Indices.
I've created a form with 4 input text fields taken from the components.I've tested it and I've seen that pressing tab the cursor doesn't move through the correct input text order but it does like this:1st field2nd fieldsomewhere else (I can't see where)3rd field4th field
I'm fairly new at flash development but here goes: is it possible to use xml to drive the layout of a flash website in CS3? Perhaps using ActionScript 2 or 3? In particular, I'm looking to be able to for e.g. create a news ticker where changing the XML allows you to 1) change the text and appearance, 2) framerate can be controlled, 3) interpolations between key frames can be specified (e.g. linear interpolation)
I have a TileList with movie clips as elements. The MCs contain buttons, but I can't click on the buttons and other elements because TileList is "over" them. How to make buttons clickable? Also, I don't need highlighting in the TileList on rollover and click. How to remove this effect?
It is a large gear that rotates CCW when you click the top button and CW when you click the bottom button. Clicking the buttons also retrieves the next element in an array called 'title' and displays it next to the gear. The elements of the array are titles of videos. I need to be able to click on these titles (as hyperlinks) and have them open up a video window to display the video that corresponds to that title. I am using flash CS5 and I am a beginner. The applet can be seen at [URL] and the AS code is below.
Didn't know if I should be here or in the Dreamweaver forum. Just trying to figure out how to make a Flash swf. start only after all the other elements of the page have been downloaded. Is this something you would do in Flash through Publish Settings or would this be accomplished in Dreamweaver?
wonered if someone could help me wih this one. Currently making a facebook game all in flash, it uses multiple swfs to make up the game and its elements for optimisation.
My question really is down to flash cache issue so we can make updates to various swfs that are going to be, site wide for users so the game doesnt break. Currently some users get older versions which breaks things if other swfs have chnaged how they communicate as an example.
I am aware of adding a query string onto the end to force to get the latest version.....however doesnt this make the use of a cache redudant as its being simply overriden? Would jsut like it to work as it should:) If theres a new version of a swf use it..if not use current one.
I'm trying to create a flash video that will incorporate powerpoint-like slides along with video footage. So for instance I will have slide 1 (graphic) - slide 2 (video clip) - slide 3 (text). I have used CS4 before for one of my classes but that was a little while ago, and I feel like I'm starting over again. When I import the first graphic (.png), is there an option to have it resize to fit the stage?
Internet Explorer will not display flash video in stand alone video players, similar to the one at: [URL] The other embedded flash content is viewable.In the IE8 tools, manage add on's, Adobe Flash Player is not listed.I've also noticed that when I access the Adobe Flash Settings manager, I can not uncheck "hardware acceleration".Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 is the operating system.
I imported an avi video to flash, converted it to flv with Adobe media encoder, and did some symbol animation on top of it.How do I export an avi video so that the video I imported is actually playing, and not just to see the skin and flv icon? When I test the video it makes it in swf form and I'd rather not convert it any further and mess up it's quality.Is it possible to view the video in work space while animating symbols over it (I kinda did it by heart)?
I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.
I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.
I'm porting in an .flv to Flash for the first time. I created the .flv from an .MP4 using Media Encoder CS5, and then opened a new Actionscript 3 .fla in Flash Professional CS5, clicked File > Import > Import Video. Then selected 'Load external video with playback component'. Everything seems to have imported fine, but when I publish the SWF and import it via Dreamweaver CS5 and preview the page, the video is there, but the controls are not. There's just a white box where the controls should be. Also, the video is out of sync with the audio, which I believe is a problem with Media Encoder, not Flash.
Here are some links:
The page that I'm working on (video at the bottom of the page)
I'm currently working on a website design. The idea is a big chromakeyed interactive video in Flash. The size of the video is 1080 (width) x 1500 (height) pixels.I've exported the video in After Effects with the standard settings for flash (File>Export>Adobe Flash Player(SWF)). Now when I import the video in Flash and preview the file, the video plays in a slower speed and it's not playing smooth at all...Is the video too big? Is there a maximum video-size to keep the video running correct in Flash? Is it something else that causes this problem..?
With the Flash Player that comes with CS3 and on my PC XP Pro laptop.I want the player controls to appear at the _bottom_ of the video not on top of the video and not under (behind) the video.
- my video is 640 x 480 - so I modified the "properties" tab at the bottom of the screen to 640x480... (it was 550x400) - but that just makes everything larger when I click File > Publish - and then look at the video in Internet Explorer... the Player Controls are still _On Top_ of the video.
I guess I need to learn how to
- Make the stage bigger - Position the Player controls below the actual video
