Professional :: Embedded Animated Symbols Won't Export As Sequence?
Aug 5, 2011
FLASH CS5 using Windows XP. I have created an animation that I want to export to sequence of .png files. The file has Symbols that contain embedded animations.
For instance, I have a flashing light in one Symbol. That is embedded in a bouncing police car Symbol. The police car Symbol (with the embedded flashing light) is brought onto a flat bed truck at the "scene" level which is driving down a road. It all looks nice if I render an internal swf file. However, when I export the individual frames, all that is rendered is the flat bed moving down the road. The bouncing car and the flashing light are there but without the animation of each.
how to export an animated sequence that include the animations embedded in its Symbols?
I have been tyring to export an animated banner, in animated.gif format. it's a simple animated text with no gradients. it should go on top of a graphic which has some gradients and is multi-coloured and with effects (the colours are similar to the one/i used in the page) as you can see here the text looks a bit funny.url...
I am stumped as to how to use an animated symbol repeatedly in a timeline while being able to alter its visual qualities without breaking the animation motion.I make a simple 3-layer animation of a body with two legs doing a walk cycle in place.I convert the completed animation as a new graphic symbol in the library.
I can then drag copies of that animated symbol to different timeline layers and alter their overall scales or give them each additional motions with a motion tween so various versions of it can move across the stage independently with tweens while keeping the walk cycle movements of the symbol.
I can change the colour properties of the added symbols but this only affects the whole image, so if the object had a body and legs in different colours, altering the properties changes all of the body parts to the same colour.Doing this does preserve the walk cycle motion, but the new object looks crude because it has become all one colour.I can then alter the visual properties of the components individually, but then it loses its animation motion.Whether I just group it again or convert it to a new symbol, it has lost the animation motion (the walk cycle of the legs) of the original. how to make such an animated symbol so that I can reuse it in the timeline while changing its visual properties (so it looks like a different character in the story) and yet keep its original animation motion.I have tried to duplicate the symbol and to copy and paste the motion but nothing seems to work.
I'm unable to export an animated symbol to image sequence properly because the symbol does not animate.I created the tweens in multiple layers, then cut-pasted all layers to a new symbol.I did this so I could then just do some tween motions on the symbol. The tweening is perfect, but when I export the image sequence, the images do not animate the way it does on the Flash player. All I get is an image sequence with the tweened symbol, but the symbol itself does not animate.how to get the symbol to animate when exporting the image sequence.
Alternatively, is there a way to motion-tween multiple layers simoultaneously? (Layers which are themselves tweened)Any additional info, I'll be checking regularly so I can provide as much description as possible to get this to work.
I've made a movie which has symbols waiting to come onto my stage. When I watch it, all seems to be fine until I run a test. A random symbol sits in the top left corner not moving which isn't there when I watch it.
I've looked through all the layers and none of them are duplicated. When i do a test, this following message appears:WARNING: Multiple 3D objects on the same frame have the same instance name. 3D instance names must be unique. All but one of the instances will be renamed during export.
is there a logic explanation why my flash projects when exported as an avi or quicktime etc etc the objects that were masked are not animated? and what do i have to do in order for project to be as i see it when i test the movie and it appears fine.
My SWF file plays properly, but if I open the file in After Effects the movie symbols don't play. Changing the movie symbols into graphic symbols works but then of course I lose my filters. I would export straight to MOV from Flash but that brings up so many other glitches. Basically I am looking for a good way to get video from flash.
Whenever I export a .fla to an animated GIF, the resulting image looks rather pixelated. I've seen other GIF animations online that look less pixely than mine. Are there some settings that I don't know about?
I'm looking to create an animation loop in Flash. The base character animation I have is 27 frames. However to have the background move at the correct speed, the entire animation is 432 frames.
Since I am making the animation so long anyway, I want the character to blink halfway through the animation loop. I went into the head symbol and extended its animation from a single frame to 432 frames. Halfway through that animation I swap out the image for one that is blinking (3 new images added for the blink).
So, now the symbols are nested like: 432 frames -> 27 frames -> 432 frames
But it doesn't seem like Flash is smart enough to animate it as I would expect. It only repeats the first 27 frames of the child symbol.
The next thing I tried was extending the 27 frame character animation out to 432 frames. I did this by copy-pasting the character animation 16 times. But this also does not work because copying the keyframes also copies the position of the child animation's playback. This causes the animation to constantly reset and never reach the blink.
I also tried using the copy motion option, but it didn't seem to do anything different than copying keyframes. Is there an easy way to make this animation work? I can't possibly need to manually position a total of 576 keyframes (there is actually another level to the nesting which does not use any tweens, just keyframes) could I?
Is there any way to use the "Export Movie" as "PNG Sequence" to work for movies where objects are animated with actionscript. Exporting like this works just dandy for normal animations, but it doesn't work for my current project. Basically I am creating images using mathematics and I want to be able to export the result as a png for use in other programs like photoshop; but since the images are created with actionscript the export just shows a blank image. Am I reduced to just taking a screenshot of the result and tediously removing all the should-be-transparent regions with the wand tool?
So I added a bitmap to my library in flash CS5, and in its symbol properties I checked "Export for AS" and "Export in Frame 2" (I set Export Classes in Frame: 2 in AS settings.) On the first frame of my main timeline, I have
I'm attempting to use CS4 (PC/Vista, if that matters) to create a SWF file that will basically act as a "library" of commonly used symbols. This SWF would be loaded at runtime by other SWFs, which could then use the symbols within it, including all art and code assets.
I have made a christmas card in flash - but I need to export it as an animated gif of it - which I can do easily enough - my proble is the quality - it defaults to screen 72dpi but if I want better resolution it increases not only the DPI but the actual file dimensions - mega large. How can I get around 150-200 DPI and retain the original canvas size?
I have made a relatively short movie ( 90 frames ) and am trying to make it an animated gif so that I can attach it to emails. When export it everything looks crisp and smooth except the text looks awful - all pixelated. Increasing the resolution that the movie is exported at does The text looks horrible even at 300 dpi. How can I make the movie an animated gif and keep the font looking good? Is there any way to make it look as crisp as in the swf. I have tried different anti-aliasing settings but nothing seems to work.
it seems the only way to export with actionscript animation intact is to export as a Quicktime file, I decided to try something and it worked. I made the frames-per-second go from 30 down to 1. It took a looong time to export at 1fps but once it did, I loaded it into Premiere and adjusted the Speed/Duration, putting the speed at 3000 (30*100) and it looks very smooth. Not the neatest way to do things but it works, so I'm happyI guess the proper terminology for what I am looking for is to export as a PNG sequence with actionscript animation. In Flash CS5 after attempting to export to a Quicktime .mov file and it turning out extremely choppy no matter what (I tried things from here and here) until somewhere I found someone saying they always export as an image sequence.I could export as an image sequence so there would be no choppiness, then just import it into a video editing software.
That was until I noticed that the vcam I am using wasn't working in the finished product. The movie clips wouldn't animate, it would just be stuck on the first frame. Masks were also not working correctly (although this may not be an issue if I just lock the layers before exporting, not sure). So basically, I can't export in Quicktime - which does export with vcam, masks, and motion clips - because it's too slow and choppy, and I can't export as an image sequence (even though it wouldn't be choppy) because it doesn't export with all the things mentioned. So what do I do now? How can I export this with movie clips, vcam, etc. without it being slow and choppy!? Can I get vcam, movie clips, and masks to export in an image sequence?
I need to export a Flash file I created as an animated GIF. Despite trying various settings under Publish, the animated GIF looks very low res or pixelated, yet the SWF file looks fine.
Im having a problem where i have a project with 1 frame but in that 1 frame is a movie clip that has more frames inside of it but when i export as a gif it only shows the 1 frame. how can i export my project to an animated gif?
and yes i have the publish settings for gif set to animated.
Am I completely hallucinating or what ? That's several years I'm working with Flash, and today, i want to do the simplest animation ever, and it just doesn't work....I want to mask an animated clip with an animated mask (a shape animation), but every time the mask arrives at a keyframe, the clip restarts to the frame 1 !!I added a piece of code to see at which keyframe it is blocked, and at every mask keyframe, the code says 'TypeError: Error #1009: null property..
is it possible to prevent the exporting of embeded-font symbols in first frame? on my embeded-font symbols "export for as" is turned on and even if "export in first frame" is turned off my font symbol loads before firs frame.
I've attached 2 screenshots. The first shows the flash stage at its default size - as you can see my font is all distorted and weird looking but when you zoom in (image 2) it's exactly like it should be. What would make it look like this when the stage hasn't been zoomed out or anything, it's just from pressing cmd and enter from flash?
I used this tut to create a menu. [URL] And my question is; Can I make the slider to move after a movie clip symbols instead of button symbols? That way my menu would be animated.
I'm working through a book called Foundation Game Design with Flash, and I'm finding the Flash IDE confusing. I've been programming for several years, so working with AS3 directly is far easier than trying to understand symbols and nested symbols and the difference between graphics and movie clips and scoping issues and all that -- when tied into the IDE.
How many of you who are making games in AS3 also use the Flash IDE? Can anyone recommend a resource that is AS3 heavy and Flash IDE light? I don't care how much time I may or may not save by using things like the timeline, I just want to understand what I'm using.
I am working on a big project today and I'm importing images in by the hundreds. Is there an easy way to import an image sequence into the timeline? I remember there use to be with earlier versions of flash but I can't figure it out for CS4 - Luckily these images are named sequentially.
Is there an easy way to reuse a keyframe sequence? I have two characters that will animate the same. I want to animate the first, and then transfer all those moves to the next character.
outputting a .png sequence, what is the best way? I've had no problem when my animation is in the root timeline. I use the export Movie command and it gives me what I want. But when I have a movie clip, with animation inside of it, and I output a .png sequence in the same way, it doesn't output the sequence of animation from inside the movie ciip, it just gives me a still frame of the symbol on all 35 frames. Is there a better way to export it when the animation is inside of a symbol??
