I use this method to place a SWF in Powerpoint 2007. How do I make the path relative and not absolute? So whatever path/destination I put in the "Movie" property is absolute and if and when I sent this PPTX file to someone (like in a folder) the SWF no longer plays. I wanted to make a path that is relative... so instead of putting "C:UseProfileDesktopFlash.swf" I wanted to know if I could do something like "Flash.swf" and then it'll play the SWF since it'd be in the root (or maybe a subfolder).
Place SWF in Powerpoint 2007:
1. Click Office Button.
2. Click "Powerpoint Options"
3. Under the "Popular" tab check "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon". Click OK
4. Click the "Developer" tab.
5. Click the "More Controls" button (wrench/hammer icon)
6. Choose "Shockwave Flash Object". Click OK.
7. Cursor turns to crosshairs. Drag box to house the object.
8. In the "Properties" pop-up, find "Movie".
9. Under "Movie". Paste in the path of the file. (i.e. C:UsersProfileDesktopflashAnimation.swf a. Try to put the SWF in the same root location as the PPTX.

I am developing a product for schools including flash animations - swf files written in AS3 - for insert/embed into PowerPoint slideshows. Hundreds of customers are waiting. It is all working apart from one problem: when inserted/embedded in PowerPoint 2007 slideshows my animations freeze (sometimes) when you leave and return to a PowerPoint slide containing them.
I have found that when you show a PP2007 slide containing a flash movie, move on to the next slide and then return, (sometimes) the time-related Events (ENTER_FRAME, TIMER etc) have stopped being dispatched to AS3 code by Flash Player, freezing animations. Other Events such as MOUSE_MOVE, KEY_DOWN etc are dispatched to AS3 in random bursts. I have created a small flash program and PowerPoint slideshow to demonstrate the problem and put them on the web at: [URL].

I was wondering if there is someway to embed a Flash Shockwave Object or .SWF file in PowerPoint (Presentation) 2007 and higher version, i.e. inside the ".pptx" format. By embed I mean when I save the presentation,close it . i wont be needing the the .swf file again. That way I can share the presentations with others.
If I use this link Insert-Flash-Into-PowerPoint-2007,it works but when I save and
close the presentation, the swf file doesn;t get embeded. (Note: If i do the same with a .ppt file, it works correctly)
I know we can embed the swf inside PowerPoint presentation version 2003, i.e. the ".ppt" format. but couldn't do the same in .pptx format.
Also is it possible to embed .swf file in .pptx using Open XML format? I tried to rename the ".pptx" file to ".zip" and added the ".swf" in media folder and then renamed it back to ".pptx", but when opened in PowerPoint, it gave an error about unreadable content or corruption.
I had read somewhere that its kind of strategy from MS not to provide this kind of support for Adobe SWF file / ActiveX object and as of now the feature is not supported. Flashppt PPTX Embed not supported
I tried the same with Office 2010 and still the same result. It doesn't work.

I'm using flash instead of powerpoint for a presentation. I want to use a remote clicker (like people use in pp presentations).I have one that works, but only when the cursor in on top of one of the buttons in the actual presentation. Icanmake the buttons in flash to travel backward and forward along the timeline, or to move to different movies etc. But I would like to use a clicker that will allow the presenter to just click a button to go back, and click the other button to go forward, without having to reposition the cursor on the laptop over the button he wants to interact with. Doesthis make sense? I have an invisible button in the lower left and right hand corners ofthe presentation. the remote clicker works, but only when it is over one of thsoe buttons. But the remote clicker is set up for powerpoint with a next slide and previous slide button that would be much more handy to use.

When I wanted to insert a SWF into a PowerPoint 2007 presentation, I would use the More Controls dialog in PowerPoint's Developer tab to insert a Shockwave/Flash object. But in PowerPoint 2010, that control is missing from the dialog. Where did it go? When I click the Register Custom DLL, there's no obvious file to choose, either.
Has anyone else run into this? I'm not looking for a way to convert a SWF into a video that can be embedded or using a 3rd-party plug-in or anything like that. I know how to do those things. I'm specifically looking to insert a SWF using only what's built into PowerPoint and Flash

I've been running into issues with the compression of my flash animations when imbedding them into powerpoint. The .mov files provide sharp playback, but after they are converted to mp4, the resolution drops. I need mp4 files so that the movies are compatible with both Mac and PC versions of powerpoint. I have changed the settings to increase the frames per second, and have the highest qualities selected when converting from .mov to .mp4 without luck.
Is there a better way to convert .fla to .mp4 for PC Powerpoint compatibility?

Placing swf file into powerpoint as per the correct procedure,1) developer tab, hammer/spanner icon, hit s and scroll to shockwave flash object, clear slide and draw out a shockwave flash object box, r/c properties, put path of swf into movie part of shockwave Flash object properties box. run movie.Movie runs fine, then when returning to that slide, or the powerpoint presentation is re-run, (there is a need in the safety lecture to rerun the presentation again and again) the movie is still stuck on the last frame.There is a supposed fix atSurely with big players on the field like Adobe and Microsoft there has to be a solution to this. This should have been resolved long ago. We forever see that flash plays in powerpoint mentuioned on the net, NO IT DOESNT ! apparently

I have a Flash file that I would like to import into PowerPoint. First a few pieces of information:
1. I use a Mac but have a Parallel system at work so I have access to Windows PPT 2008. I am using Flash CS5.
2. The Flash file is not huge, it's just these animated curtains that open up to reveal a logo and text.
Questions:
1. I have found the only way to import the Flash file is to export as a .mov and then import that into PPT. This works great EXCEPT for that the text and logo look blurry in PPT. I have no idea why.
2. Is it possible to export a .mov file with just the curtain animation but with a transparent background so that when I import into PPT, we can just type the text directly within PPT and not have to include that in the Flash file?
3. I read online that you can import SWFs into Windows PPT but I have not been able to get that to work either.

I've been having a bit of a hard time understanding how to get a button which I have created in Flash to navigate to the next slide of the PowerPoint presentation which it has been added into.
I understand that I somehow need to make use of fscommand in ActionScript, but I'm not sure how I can get Flash and PowerPoint to communicate between themselves.
I'm using Flash MX 2004 7.0 and Powerpoint 2003.

i've been looking around for answers to my problem to no avail. What I want to do is create a powerpoint style presentation. But rather than change slides, I have one large "graphic" that I am moving around and zooming into by "motion tweening" Now all I need to do is: (with a keyboard event) start the motion tween and then let it play out then start the next motion tween and let it play out and so on. all i have is this, which allows me to start and stop it when it is tweening, but isn't as effective as it stopping at then end of a motion tween, then allowing me to push a key and for it to go to the next "slide"

I make a html newsletter that I send by mail, In the html page there's a button flash made with flash CS4. When I send by email, and the receiver mail is hotmail or MS Outlook 2007, the button doesn't appears, there's no a message, nothing. I'm trying to create a flash video that will incorporate powerpoint-like slides along with video footage. So for instance I will have slide 1 (graphic) - slide 2 (video clip) - slide 3 (text). I have used CS4 before for one of my classes but that was a little while ago, and I feel like I'm starting over again. When I import the first graphic (.png), is there an option to have it resize to fit the stage?

The entire banner needs to be a clickable link for the duration of the animation. So anyone can click on the banner at any point during the animation, and be brought to my site. I tried putting a frame at the end with getURL[URL] but that doesnt work. When I do that, the banner is not a clickable link, but the site opens automatically after the animation has played. Cant have that. So after doing some research, the apparent correct way to do this is by making a button, but I do that and the button obsures everything else.

So I've got a video that is presently working on a page. The SWF is set to call another SWF as well as an FLV video based on a timer. I would like this video to play in a lightbox. I pulled the code to setup a lightbox from here: [URL] I dumped in the code as I saw fit, either it is incorrect, or the lightbox script is unable to handle what I need. I'm thinking a bit of extra Javascript might take care of it? I was also thinking some code in the flash "button" may be able to be created to act as a timer.
The problem I am having is setting up the timer, presently the first video pulls up (rmk_player.swf), but is not calling upon the others. The video should pull up the rmk_player.swf, then the intro.swf, followed by the rmk_590.flv. This all works on the non-lightbox version.

There is a new way to embed fonts in CS5. So I've embeded a font in a CS5 flash file's library and gave it a linkage ID. I'd like to embed this font in an ActionScript project using the "[EMBED]" tag. I've tried the following code to embed the "Helvetica LT" font, but the textfield seemed to be unaffected.

I am trying to embed an f4v file into Flash CS5, however the program won't accept the file I've tried renaming the extension and removing the audio stream. The only thing that seems to work is if its a TRUE flv file using VP6 and with a .flv extension.The documentation here regarding embedding flv/f4v mentions the ability to embed either file formats:I have found no positive results on google and there doesn't seem to be a Flash Jira for bug tracking.

I have a client that I created FLV files for. how to create SWF files so he can embed them onto his web pages. I explained that Premiere only creates FLV and F4V files. My understanding is that he needs Flash Pro CS5 to create the SWF files. Is this correct? I have been all over the web looking for the workflow for embedding video files like they do on you tube. I'm a videographer dammit, not a web designer!

I am currently trying to make a Flash website for my cousin's business, and his website should feature a portfolio gallery to display the work he has done (He is a contractor). I am trying to use the SlideshowPro plug-in which generates a very nice-looking Flash gallery that is about 50 times nicer than the one he is using on his website at the moment. One of the big things I like about SSP is that it offers a full-screen picture viewing mode, which would allow potential customers of his to see work he has done better than they are currently seeing.
However, whenever I publish the website to test it and make sure everything is working okay, I go to the Portfolio page and test SSP in full screen. Once I come back from full screen, the gallery remains on top of the screen on every other page of the website. The audio also does this (It can play audio in the background while looking through the galleries you set up). Since I am somewhat new to Flash, I am not sure why it is doing this. Perhaps someone else has encountered this and has a fix or workaround that I could use.

I have created a flash movie using actionscript 3 and an xml file with a list of images for a slideshow. After clicking publish, I can view the slideshow by previewing the html file it creates for you. However, I want to embed this flash movie in a different web page. When I try to add it in Dreamweaver, by dragging and dropping the swf file into the page, a flash placeholder is generated, but the movie does not play when previewed. It is just blank white space.
Now I watched the Tom Green tutorials on "flash the easy way" and my flash (CS4 professional) did NOT generate the AC_RunActiveContent.js files. I did find and download the file and manually added it to my Scripts folder. Still no joy.
I will note that the html file that embeds the flash video is in a different directory than the movie itself. Surely this cannot be the issue, otherwise people's websites would be incredibly messy with multiple flash videos. I am trying to put all the flash movies in their own child directories of a /flash directory to keep them neat and organized.
I am not sure what to do next. How do you make the dang thing play on a web page that is in another directory?

I have 1 swf file which generated through 3rd party tool.Now I want to embed this file into empty flash file and want to save as new, I tried with following options,
1) import option ( File > Import ) but it is importing only Images and symbols. I want my original file as it in new file.
2) loader.load(), but this will load my external file at runtime only and to work smoothly it require both the files.
I want same but in design time, so I can add some extra functionality to it.Is it possible to embed external swf file as it is in new flash file in CS4?
