I have Flash MX and Quicktime 7. All I want to do is publish my movie as quicktime. But when I do I get the error message, "The installed version of QuickTime does not have a handler for this type of Macromedia Flash movie". So... after a little digging I found out its a issue with flash 6, and changed the flash version to 5! But It still wont work! What on earth am i doing wrong?

View 5 RepliesI was hoping someone could help me with this. I installed the Air for Android and followed all of the steps as I was told to in the tutorials, yet when I try to publish the .apk file I get an error = "Error exporting the SWF file. Please see the error(s) in the compiler errors panel"
Yet I have no errors and just drew a rectangle on the stage. Any ideas? I went thru the steps over and over and I have no idea what I could be missing now, but really was hoping to get this to work.
When I try to build a "Hello World" iOS app for the iPhone using Flash Pro CS5.5 I get the following error:

Has any one else encountered an error like this and successfully fixed it? I've been trying to solve this for a long time, have reinstalled Flash CS5.5 and Java, but so far I'm still getting the same error. I've also tested building the app on another person's machine and there everything works fine. My OS is Windows 7.
I've been using flash8 on my computer without any problems since I've purchased it, until now. Suddenly I'm getting this error message when trying to publish. (it won't let me get to the publish settings)"No Valid HTML Templates are available to complete this operation".I've already reinstalled without any success, and have scoured the internet for a solution. It seems others have had this problem in the past but no one has a logic answer on how to fix this. So I come to you, I know my version is dated and not an actual Adobe product, but it was working fine.
View 6 RepliesI am having trouble exporting Quicktime videos from Flash CS4. Previously, in Flash CS3, I got the following dialogue box: Flash CS3 export box Notice the fact that I can change the export resolution in this box. I set the resolution to what I want, and then click the quicktime settings box to change the movie's imensions to what I want. The resolution settings in this picture determine what dimensions the flash movie is rendered at, not the final quicktime movie. Now, take a look at my new dialogue box:

If I go into the quicktime settings and export out a movie at a higher resolution, it first renders the flash file at the ative resolution in the picture and then upsizes it to the quicktime resolution, resulting in a very low-quality, blurry movie.
i can't export as Quicktime, it just stops at "Recording Flash Content" - Yes i could export as .avi, but for some reason, i lose some effects there, i could export as .swf as well, but Sony Vegas won't read .swf files, and i can't find a FREE (I don't want some trial with annoying Logos) ...
View 17 RepliesSo I have recently aquired Flash CS4 and the Quicktime Export is completely different from any version before.I create a lot of 3-4 minute shorts in Flash and have always enjoyed the ease of QT export, but when I export with CS4 I get all kinds of ghosting, even on 5-10 second clips so breaking up the fla file's scenes is no help.After doing a lot of online research I see a few people have similar problems, but no concrete explanations or solutions.Has Flash-to-Quicktime compatability been disabled?I see that the "Quicktime Movie" export options is not available, only the "Quicktime" export, which yields inferior results. Since I export to the web and for dvd I don't want to have to export PNG sequences and rebuild the soundtrack, but is there simply no longer quality compatability between the two programs?Do I need to ditch Flash for Toon Boom?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2.93 Core 2 with 8 Gb of RAM.I have a Flash video containing animations, graphics and text. It is 2 minutes long. The SWF works fine. ActionScript 3.0. 900x500 resolution.When I first attempted to export as quicktime, it gave a message very close to this:
"Warning: Runtime Shared Libaries (RSL's) failed to be associated with the file due to Quicktime Publishing Settings."
The wording may be a bit off, this is from memory. Keep in mind I am not even trying to publish at this point, I am exporting. Not that I could tell you the difference.So after showing this message, the progress bar continues to fill until it is completely full, and then nothing happens. The bar jus sits there full, doing nothing.So then after I explored the publishing settings, I found under the 'Flash' tab, a dropdown menu that let me choose "Merge into code" as the integrating the Runtime Shared Library with the file.Then I hit publish. The progress bar fills and disappears, I press okay. Still, I can not find any movie file (or even the place to choose where published file go) on my computer.
After this, I try exporting. The warning the appeared previously is gone, but the progress bar still freezes when it is full, and no file is produced.One thing I have been thinking is maybe it has to do with the number of frames in my file. I have inserted the stop action at the end, so the video stops and does not loop when previewing the SWF, however there are still many blank frames, that don't contain any objects or tweens or anything like that. The setting is currently "stop encoding at last frame" which I assume means the last frame of my video before the stop function. I cannot figure out a way to make the empty frames after this point dissappear, I just figure it is part of the program itself.
I'm trying to export a Flash movie as a .mov file. The animation is not that big but there are strange display issues. As the character moves across the screen, there are bits and pieces left on the screen from the previous movements. It's just not rendering correctly and looks terrible. I can't seem to fix it and have been playing with the Format settings etc. There's always the junk left on the screen.
View 2 RepliesIs it possible to import a QuickTime movie with alpha channel into an FLA and have the FLA recognize the Alpha channel? When I've done this, it just shows opaque black instead of an alpha channel. I need that black to be transparent so I can see the layers below the video layer.

When I view this movie, the animation leaves trails of color when an object moves across the screen, leaving behind little bits of color too. This does not happen when I export a SWF, but it does happen when I export a Quicktime movie. I export using Quicktime, so I can then I can export it into a flv in Adone media encorder.Why does this happen?
View 1 RepliesI would be very grateful if anyone can shine any light on the problem I am having with Flash CS 5 for OS X 10.5 and 10.6. A local admin account allows a user to export a flash project file as a quicktime file no problem. However, when a network user tries to do exactly the same thing, i receive a "unknown error" message.
We are running our iMacs via active directory and open directory. I have added Flash to the allowed applications list in Workgroup manager and have allowed access to library paths etc. So basically a flash file wont export as a quicktime file under OS x when logged on as a network user.
We have tried different export areas (desktop, removable drive, network home folder) but no joy. The permissions must be blocked elsewhere.
I'm a novice flash programmer, and a HTML/XHTML, PHP experienced programmer.Well, on to my problem, i have a client that brought a *.swf file to do some changes. The fla file is nowhere to be found (geez... backup your files!!) And with trillix i got to decompress it into a fla file and some AS files, but when i go to publish the flash proyect, it gives out an error on this line.

View 3 RepliesI have recently taken over a project started by another person who has been let go due to lack of performance and other issues.He has created a FLA file and an .exe file. But I am have been asked to place the movie on to the internet.The FLA file that I have will not let me publish an SWF file to be uploaded to the internet, in fact it will not let me publish anything.I have changed the publish setting but when I go to publish it the SWF file is not created.I just want this file in SWF format and for it to autoplay when the website is loaded.
Extra Information: I have used a exe to swf converter to convert the EXE file that was already made into a SWF file for the internet. This does make an swf file but the file is not editable and will not autoplay once it is uploaded.
Any movie whatsover (i.e. any file in any location on my drive) cannot be published (including test movie via Command-Enter) because I get this error:
"Error creating SWF movie file. Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long."
The file name isn't too long, and I am logged in as an administrator on the machine. All folders I have tried to publish to are unlocked and I have read/write priveliges to them. This is a new install of CS4 and has been updated to the very latest version (and it didn't work before the update, not does it work after). This is NOT to do with my specific permissions. This is a clean install of Flash CS4 Professional on a very new Macbook Pro running OS 10.5.7.
For the record, I just want to say that I think it is totally absurd that Adobe shipped Flash CS5 with the ability to ONLY publish AIR 2.0 apps...which hasn't been publicly released yet. I've been working on an AIR app for several weeks and needed to upgrade from Flash CS3 to CS5 to take advantage of the new Text Layout Framework. Now, my app can't be installed by my customers because I can't publish for a version of AIR they can access!! How this decision got made baffles me. Adobe needs to be on top of their game these days and this blunder makes it that much more difficult to defend the Flash/AIR platform that I love so much. Flame over.
Now, for the workaround I've discovered. To get Flash CS5 to publish an AIR 1.5 file, I first published an AIR 2.0 app. Then I went into the app descriptor xml file and changed the version from 2.0 to 1.5 <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5"> Then I deleted the xml nodes in that same file that are specific to AIR 2.0 (<visible>, <fullScreen>, <autoOrients>, <aspectRatio>, <renderMode>). I locked the app descriptor file so it couldn't be changed by the next publish. Then I deleted the previously created .air file and the .swf file. I then republished the app from CS5 and it was able to install under the publically available version of AIR (1.5.3.9130).
i recently purchased a flash template online, to edit for my own site and I can edit it no problem. The problem is, after I publish it. If i want to reopen the program after i closed it to modify it again, all my buttons and text on the template turn into grey boxes around the buttons and the text disappears..

I signed up as a developer and got my certificate and provisioning profile and I am trying to follow tutorials to publish a simple iphone app and get it on my phone but Flash CS5.5 crashes every time during the publish phase. It says publishing 1:20 remaining and usually with about 25 seconds left it freezes up and crashes.

When the export program runs it shows a progress bar recording Flash content. The green bar goes to the end and then gets hung up and never finishes (at least after a half hour wait). I have installed the latest Quicktime codec with Quicktime 7 player.

I have used systems with Adobe CS3 installed and they have a quicktime plug-in for encoding. However, I've just purchased Adobe CS5.5 Production Premium and I have not gained that functionality.
how to get export from FCP with what I have? Do I have use CS3 or CS4? Or do I have to export a quicktime movie from FCP then use Adobe Media Encoder to create FLV files?
I created a swf file useing Flash and need to convert this to a mov file. I watched a training video and under Publish Settings > Format their should be a Quicktime mov option. I do not have this option on my CS5 Flash version. Also, if I try to export as a mov file, nothing happens. I have QuickTime Player version 7 on my computer. It just will not show up as an option in Flash. How do I convert a swf file to a mov file without going online and purchasing a converter?
View 4 RepliesI've been using Flash for 10 years and I've never seen this problem with images after publishing. I've also worked with graphics for many years, but I can't seem to figure out what could be causing this problem with Flash compling this image.
The image is RGB, the image displays properly when opened in other applications on my computer, it also displays properly in the Flash library and on the stage. I've imported it as PNG and JPG, but neither of them work. The other graphics in my fla file look fine. When I publish/compile the Flash file, all the colors are messed up - you can barely make out the graphic, it looks all digitzed and pixelated, with major color distortions. I've tried adjusting the publish jpg quality, but that doesn't help. I'm convinced this is a bug in Flash, since I have the same problem when I publish on the laptop and on my desktop, but I'm not sure.
Yes correct I'm talking about Flash Player 11, thats what it says in Flash CS5 software. Whatever I do in Publish Setting, Flash software always returns option to be Flash Player 11, I don't get this. I choose Flash Player 8 and AS 2.0 and re-open Publish Settings it is again back on Flash Player 11 and AS 3.0.

this is the first time i encounter this problem.. I had the problem where a file would not open correctly which was also addressed at this forum. But this one is different. this file was created (from what i remember) in Flash 8, then opened/saved in all possible flash versions for updates in time. While it will open just fine, it will not publish. The publish window with the percentage will open up for a split second, then it will close with no messages whatsoever, no actionscript errors, nothing. F12, the same thing again. No possible settings could solve this.
I am willing to send the file for testing of course, have tried to publish using Flash cs4 and Flash cs5. I thought of going back to Flash 8 by opening the file and saving to a previous version but as soon as i open the file in Flash cs3 (while the file has been saved as cs3) it will not open the file with an error message that i cannot remember right now.
