i can't export as Quicktime, it just stops at "Recording Flash Content" - Yes i could export as .avi, but for some reason, i lose some effects there, i could export as .swf as well, but Sony Vegas won't read .swf files, and i can't find a FREE (I don't want some trial with annoying Logos) ...
View 17 RepliesI'm trying to export a Flash movie as a .mov file. The animation is not that big but there are strange display issues. As the character moves across the screen, there are bits and pieces left on the screen from the previous movements. It's just not rendering correctly and looks terrible. I can't seem to fix it and have been playing with the Format settings etc. There's always the junk left on the screen.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to export a Flash movie to Quicktime. The movie is not very large - the SWF file is about 1700 KB. When the export program runs it shows a progress bar recording Flash content. The green bar goes to the end and then gets hung up and never finishes (at least after a half hour wait). I have installed the latest Quicktime codec with Quicktime 7 player.

I have used systems with Adobe CS3 installed and they have a quicktime plug-in for encoding. However, I've just purchased Adobe CS5.5 Production Premium and I have not gained that functionality.
how to get export from FCP with what I have? Do I have use CS3 or CS4? Or do I have to export a quicktime movie from FCP then use Adobe Media Encoder to create FLV files?
I have been getting a lot of visual artifacting when exporting a Flash CS4 movie to Quicktime. No matter what compressor I use, animation, dv/dvcpro, or even none, artifacts appear and I cannot figure out how to export a clean QT movie no matter what setting I use. I have even changed the finshed when last frame reached to finish at certain time.
View 21 RepliesI am using Flash CS3 on a PC. I am trying to export an animation to quicktime (Export > Export movie) and have some problem regarding the sound. The animation contains actionscript 2.0loads external swf contains streaming soundsplay other sounds via actionscript. 4 scenes. When publishing the animation, it works fine, but when exporting it to .mov, the audio goes faster than the video.
Export setting:
Video:Compression type: H.264Frame Rate: CurrentKeyFrames: 4
Sound:Compressor: 24-bit integerRate: 48.000KhzSize: 16BitUse: Stereo
To be honest, I tried many other compression types and frame rates and keyframes, but nothing seem to work.
I tried:
- importing the external swfs into the original animation
- creating a streaming silence from frame 1 for continuous sound
- capturing the animation using CamStudio, but it's not smooth enough
I have a 5 minute flash movie that has great sound synchronization with the motion when I export as a SWF. However, when I export as a Quicktime file (.mov), sometimes the sound is ahead of the image. Is there a setting I can tweak during Export to remedy this? (so far I have tried to save the Video as "H.264" as well as "Animation". And for sound I have had no luck with the setting of "None" or "Apple Lossless."

I've included a link to a youtube video of what I'm looking at, the video doesn't run real smoothly in youtube but I think it should be clear what the problem is.

View 0 RepliesI am trying to export a flash animation as a mov, so i can convert it for html5. When I export the movie, the animation has artifacts in it, strange things do not erase correctly, they do not show when i view it in Flash, or when I view the exported flv file.
So as you can see, there is a 1/2 drawn image. They round things are floating down, but for some reason, as they float down to stack, they leave behind some partial images.
So I have been working on a flash-based Website using ActionScript 2.0. I have been able to export it fine up until about a day ago. The file is only 4,330KB and when exporting as a SWF it will export about halfway and then it stops with no error or exported file. I exported it as an AVI, but since it's interactive it doesn't help. I've tried exporting it for Quicktime and the same thing happens.

View 3 RepliesWhen I try to export a Quicktime movie from the Export>Export Movie, I get this error message:Error creating Flash movie file.Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long.A few things I've tested:
- Saving to different drives - all of which are not locked.
- changing the file name to one single word followed by .mov
- saving the flash file as a new file and trying again
- opening the file on a different machine and exporting
None of these have fixed the problem. Every time I get the same error. I've been able to export swf movies and also JPEG sequences, but I'd much rather be able to export the Quicktime movie since I need to bring this into FCP and the Flash movie has sound in it as well, so with the JPEG sequence I'd have to lay in the audio again.
In Adobe Flash CS3 Profesional and when I start the Flash Video Encoder I get the following message: "A required system library did not initialize properly. Please ensure you have DirectShow 9 and QuickTime 7 or higher installed on your system."

View 2 RepliesI would be very grateful if anyone can shine any light on the problem I am having with Flash CS 5 for OS X 10.5 and 10.6. A local admin account allows a user to export a flash project file as a quicktime file no problem. However, when a network user tries to do exactly the same thing, i receive a "unknown error" message.
We are running our iMacs via active directory and open directory. I have added Flash to the allowed applications list in Workgroup manager and have allowed access to library paths etc. So basically a flash file wont export as a quicktime file under OS x when logged on as a network user.
We have tried different export areas (desktop, removable drive, network home folder) but no joy. The permissions must be blocked elsewhere.
I'm on a macbook pro, osx 10.6, using CS4 Web Premium. I used to have an external monitor hooked up which had much higher resolution, so when using Adobe Media Encoder I'd click the Settings button on a video to get the Export Settings window, then stretched the Export Settings window to be the size of my external monitor. Now, I'm just using my laptop, and the export settings window does not have the resize buttons at top left to adjust it back to the size of my laptop, and the bottom third of the export settings window is getting cut off so I can't see the cancel/ok buttons etc.
I've tried re-installing media encoder (via reinstalling flash using the CDs) to try to 'reset' the window sizes, didn't fix the problem. If anyone knows of any other preferences or something I could delete to fix this,
I am having trouble exporting Quicktime videos from Flash CS4. Previously, in Flash CS3, I got the following dialogue box: Flash CS3 export box Notice the fact that I can change the export resolution in this box. I set the resolution to what I want, and then click the quicktime settings box to change the movie's imensions to what I want. The resolution settings in this picture determine what dimensions the flash movie is rendered at, not the final quicktime movie. Now, take a look at my new dialogue box:

If I go into the quicktime settings and export out a movie at a higher resolution, it first renders the flash file at the ative resolution in the picture and then upsizes it to the quicktime resolution, resulting in a very low-quality, blurry movie.
So I have recently aquired Flash CS4 and the Quicktime Export is completely different from any version before.I create a lot of 3-4 minute shorts in Flash and have always enjoyed the ease of QT export, but when I export with CS4 I get all kinds of ghosting, even on 5-10 second clips so breaking up the fla file's scenes is no help.After doing a lot of online research I see a few people have similar problems, but no concrete explanations or solutions.Has Flash-to-Quicktime compatability been disabled?I see that the "Quicktime Movie" export options is not available, only the "Quicktime" export, which yields inferior results. Since I export to the web and for dvd I don't want to have to export PNG sequences and rebuild the soundtrack, but is there simply no longer quality compatability between the two programs?Do I need to ditch Flash for Toon Boom?

But when I do I get the error message, "The installed version of QuickTime does not have a handler for this type of Macromedia Flash movie". So... after a little digging I found out its a issue with flash 6, and changed the flash version to 5! But It still wont work! What on earth am i doing wrong?
View 9 RepliesI have a 2.93 Core 2 with 8 Gb of RAM.I have a Flash video containing animations, graphics and text. It is 2 minutes long. The SWF works fine. ActionScript 3.0. 900x500 resolution.When I first attempted to export as quicktime, it gave a message very close to this:
"Warning: Runtime Shared Libaries (RSL's) failed to be associated with the file due to Quicktime Publishing Settings."
The wording may be a bit off, this is from memory. Keep in mind I am not even trying to publish at this point, I am exporting. Not that I could tell you the difference.So after showing this message, the progress bar continues to fill until it is completely full, and then nothing happens. The bar jus sits there full, doing nothing.So then after I explored the publishing settings, I found under the 'Flash' tab, a dropdown menu that let me choose "Merge into code" as the integrating the Runtime Shared Library with the file.Then I hit publish. The progress bar fills and disappears, I press okay. Still, I can not find any movie file (or even the place to choose where published file go) on my computer.
After this, I try exporting. The warning the appeared previously is gone, but the progress bar still freezes when it is full, and no file is produced.One thing I have been thinking is maybe it has to do with the number of frames in my file. I have inserted the stop action at the end, so the video stops and does not loop when previewing the SWF, however there are still many blank frames, that don't contain any objects or tweens or anything like that. The setting is currently "stop encoding at last frame" which I assume means the last frame of my video before the stop function. I cannot figure out a way to make the empty frames after this point dissappear, I just figure it is part of the program itself.
Is it possible to import a QuickTime movie with alpha channel into an FLA and have the FLA recognize the Alpha channel? When I've done this, it just shows opaque black instead of an alpha channel. I need that black to be transparent so I can see the layers below the video layer.

I need a save and load function. Im gonna explain why and how. Im making a test game. When the player finish a level another level on the "Level select" screen should be unlock.
So, when player open my game first time. Level 2 is locked. When he finish Level 1 he can play Level 2.I got some help with this and got it to work like this:

That means if Player hits goal he get send back to frame 2 and "level2played" gets true and he can click and play level2. But this doesnt ofcourse get saved when the app get closed. So i kinda need it to be saved. So if Player hits goal in level 1, this "level2played=true;" gets saved.
Can I convert a Flash file to Quicktime or Windows Media Player? If so....how? (Also, is swf the only file format on Flash?) I've been reading I need to download some converter to do this.

When I build and launch the app it loads in my browser (the address in the broswer is C:Userspath omyapp.html) and works perfectly. However, when I upload the app to my website or even launch it from outside the project build directory, the HTTP service call fails with the popup
Security error accessing url
Destination: DefaultHTTP
Of course I googled this error and realized it may have something to do with a 'crossdomain.xml' in my web root directory. I tried this and it continued to fail.

In my machine I have installed only Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional trial version. Now this installation is not supporting adobe.utils.Extension class in this version. I have tried with all latest updates from adobe site. My doubt is does adobe.utils.Extension class is available in licensed version of Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional?
