So I have been working on a flash-based Website using ActionScript 2.0. I have been able to export it fine up until about a day ago. The file is only 4,330KB and when exporting as a SWF it will export about halfway and then it stops with no error or exported file. I exported it as an AVI, but since it's interactive it doesn't help. I've tried exporting it for Quicktime and the same thing happens.

But when i want to create the AIR file (export release fuild), AIR files content view is empty and bin-debug directory is never filled.

View 17 RepliesI created a website and exported the project into an swf file. Unfortunately some of the pages exported are correct and others show something else but not the stuff I created in CS4. Actually it is only text so nothing difficult. The result I get is something I had before, only bolt text parts or only the grey letters and not the colered letters...Iam using version 10.
View 4 RepliesI have Flash CS5 and I'm trying to export SWC from it to use as a library with Flex SDK (FlashDevelop). I have "Export SWC" checked in publish settings and for a while it worked. Now, even if it still is checked, SWC isn't created (at least in the same directory as SWF). I even tried creating a completely new FLA and copied everything from the old library in there. Still it doesn't work.
View 6 RepliesI'm on a macbook pro, osx 10.6, using CS4 Web Premium. I used to have an external monitor hooked up which had much higher resolution, so when using Adobe Media Encoder I'd click the Settings button on a video to get the Export Settings window, then stretched the Export Settings window to be the size of my external monitor. Now, I'm just using my laptop, and the export settings window does not have the resize buttons at top left to adjust it back to the size of my laptop, and the bottom third of the export settings window is getting cut off so I can't see the cancel/ok buttons etc.
I've tried re-installing media encoder (via reinstalling flash using the CDs) to try to 'reset' the window sizes, didn't fix the problem. If anyone knows of any other preferences or something I could delete to fix this,
For those of you that use Flash like I do, as a drawing tool, then you may be disappointed to find that Flash CS5 no longer exports your graphics as .ai files. Your only options are .swf, .fxg, .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png.Often I use Flash and Illustrator together. I'll draw in Flash and export to Illustrator. I mainly use Illustrator when I need text on a curved line. Then I bring that text back in to Flash.
It's odd because one time I just typed in .ai into the filename and it did indeed create an .ai file. However, just now, I tried to do that again and it won't work for me. ALSO... I upgrade from Flash CS3 to CS5 ultimately skipping CS4. The problem is, CS5 only let's you save to legacy CS4. So my CS3 version can't open my CS4 or CS5 files.
I have an MP3 file in Flash 5.5 that I have edited in the properties panel of the frame where the sound is...I basically cut a couple seconds off the beginning by editing the timeline. It plays fine when I'm in Flash, but when I publish the movie, the sound is published unedited.

I opened up an old project in Flex Builder 3 which runs on Adobe AIR 1.0. I believe it was originally written in Flex Builder 2. When I try to run the Adobe Air application, nothing happens. When I try to export a release build, I get this error: If I change the main-app.xml file to use the 1.5 version of the namespace, it builds fine. Unfortunately, the clients environment runs on 1.0. Ideas?

So, when player open my game first time. Level 2 is locked. When he finish Level 1 he can play Level 2.I got some help with this and got it to work like this:

That means if Player hits goal he get send back to frame 2 and "level2played" gets true and he can click and play level2. But this doesnt ofcourse get saved when the app get closed. So i kinda need it to be saved. So if Player hits goal in level 1, this "level2played=true;" gets saved.
I wrote an app using adobe flash builder that makes an http data service call to a website.
When I build and launch the app it loads in my browser (the address in the broswer is C:Userspath omyapp.html) and works perfectly. However, when I upload the app to my website or even launch it from outside the project build directory, the HTTP service call fails with the popup

Destination: DefaultHTTP
Of course I googled this error and realized it may have something to do with a 'crossdomain.xml' in my web root directory. I tried this and it continued to fail.

I'm using the free trial version of Adobe flash builder, but I do not see anything indicating that this has to do with the error.
Data from http service call is in xml format.
In my machine I have installed only Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional trial version. Now this installation is not supporting adobe.utils.Extension class in this version. I have tried with all latest updates from adobe site. My doubt is does adobe.utils.Extension class is available in licensed version of Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional?

I am trying to find all available API's that are available in the flash ocx. I am unable to find any documentation for the functions in the IShockwaveFlash interface.I know that Adobe doesn't have a documentation for using flash in VC++ but I was wondering if anyone can point me to a place where I can find an UNOFFICIAL documentation for flash.ocx or code samples as the only API that I could find and I'm currently using is "PutMovie".
View 2 RepliesWhen I work on my Air Project, I used stop(); to stay in a frame(which is my menu), I built the .air for testing purposes and the frames keep looping, as in, it plays all the frames, and it won't stop as it's instructed to. I'm building my Application in Flash CS5, not Flex.

It is not an open standard. Eveyone knows how HTML/CSS and JavaScript operate inside. Flash is not open.It has security flaws which make it insecure.
Seems like all of these concerns could be addressed if Adobe opensourced the Flash player. Third parties could contribute to and audit the code base, and optimize and fix bugs. Adobe could concentrate on making the apps and environments that author Flash content best. Well, Adobe hasn't done that yet. Why not? What are the business/technical reasons that makes Adobe want to keep control of a closed source Flash player?
I'm having trouble getting the Adobe Media Encoder CS4 to work properly. I have tried multiple files of different lengths but end up with the same output. Nice video encoding, but the audio starts and then cuts out after a couple of seconds. The longer the video, the shorter the audio works. The logs don't report any
issues.

View 2 RepliesI have a slider with arrows on the end to operate/advance it. If you hover over an arrow the slider slides. When you roll off/hover off the arrow the slider stops. The problem is that if you hover off to quickly it still thinks the cursor is over the arrow and it continues to slide. Is there any way to address this?

View 1 RepliesI made a banner for my company that I'd like to turn into a .gif file for our marketing strategies portion of our site. I am new to flash and can't seem to find the right export/publish settings to get the cleanest possible .gif file.
Would anyone mind looking at my attached .fla file to see where I might be going wrong. All of the images I imported into flash were edited in photoshop CS4 and saved as .png files. Is this the preferred method? When I export my animation it slows down and becomes all grainy. I am trying to create a .gif similar to the one I have also attached that was created in flash by a professional design firm. What would this guy (the guy that created the attached .gif file) have done differently?

When I go to export a flash file (command > enter) the swf either decides to play every 5th frame which I made 5 keyframes each at 20% more alpha each playing only the one at 100% alpha. It also brings in the line spacing so it is all mucked up. Everything is fine when I press enter to do timeline preview but not when I export swf does anyone have any idea why?

I have managed to get through them with various methods of recreating files, make new flas, and coping the library over, and the like.. (All of which is crap by the way, saving issues should NEVER be an issue)The answer from support seems to be "You have a corrupt asset". If this is the case then flash corrupted it. </RANT>The issue I'm having now however, is that I can no longer get it to export a new swc. I'm using the swc with a Pure AS3 project.I can save the xfl file just fine.I can compile it and it doesn't complain (though there isn't much to compile other than images and movieclips containing those images)I can re-open the file just fine.

outside the app, on my desktop, i see that the small windows 7 cursor jumps immediately to where a finger is placed, meaning this issue isn't a hardware or a windows problem but rather how internally the flash app receives "translated" touch-to-mouse events from the os.for example, in a windows Solitaire game, a simple touch to the screen immediately highlights the touched card.in my app, a button will change to the down state only if i touch it and also move my finger slightly (click events - down and up - are triggered fine).shouldn't the MOUSE_DOWN event trigger exactly like how a TOUCH_BEGIN would in the new touchevent class?
