I am trying to load a swf into a holder movie clip from the child movieclip.It's parent has a holder that i want to load a swf into.I am navigating from within a child clip.It would be nice to have the swfs load from an external xml file but it isn't mandatory.

Trying to load a simple swf movie into my mc holder.When I preview the page on my desktop the external files loads. On the FTP server it doesn't. Why? I am using an array to load images into a holder_mc on my flash site. Is there a way to change the registration point at which the image loads? Currently the image loads and is justified to the top left corner of the holder. I would like to change it to the top right corner.

View 2 RepliesI'm making a loader.swf to load a menu.swf file. I'm done this dozens of times the same way and it has worked perfect. But this time...when I load my menu and trace it out, the loader keeps loading and reloading the menu.swf infinitley and I don't know why.
The only thing I've discovered is that my menu.swf file will load just fine IF I delete all of the actionscript from it. If there is even a comment in there the infinite loop starts again.

View 6 Repliesi have used a purchased site template, everything works fine locally but when the site goes live it starts off fine but the first menu you click on nothing ever happens, if i go to another menu this loads as expected and if i then go back to the previous (non working) menu it also now loads. Everything works fine from now on just never on the intial load, does anyone have any idea why this may happen?

I'm sure this is easier than I'm making it but the SWF just has a bunch of frames and i want to use one script to scrub through the frames but i can't figure out how ot get the instance name (or whatever) of the movieClip.

I have the ActionScript working fine on the main stage. Once I convert all layers into mc_clip, then put the mc_clip into the main stage, my html txt file no longer appear on the scroll area. Below is the ActionScript on the first frame in mc_clip. Also, the button 1 and button2 ActionScript to display the html.Questions:How to call the html to display on the main stage?

I have been working on a Flash movie that loads variable data from an external XML file and dynamically displays the item names in a menu which may then be clicked to display other dynamically-loaded content that corresponds to the menu item that was clicked. I have now come to a standstill in the project as there is something I'd like to achieve but simply cannot work out how. This is my first attempt at working with XML in Flash and one of my early attempts at using variables. What I'm trying to achieve is; once the user has viewed the item's content, they can simply click "next" and "previous" buttons to display all of the content for the next or previous items in the XML document.
I know it probably sounds simple and I'm sure some of you could achieve this in 5 minutes (!) but I can't get my head around some of the coding. I assume previousSibling and nextSibling would come into play here as well as some sort of functions which access arrays of data for the previous and next items, but I'm just not sure how to correctly put these things to use.
