trying to add an asset to an unlocked layer in my Flash project, but File>Import>Import to Stage (Cmd-R on Mac) is grayed out.why is this? is flash telling me that my stage is some how inactive? I am in the scene. I see other graphic elements...my layer (in a group) is unlocked as is the parent of the group.

my Adobe Flash cs4, because it always not responding when i select import. I already updated my flash to v10.0.2 and still the problem is not solve.
Or is my computer enough for flash cs4?.. here is the specs of my computer:
Pentium(R) Dual -Core CPU 2.50GHz
2046MB RAM
NVIDIA 1778 MB Video Card..
I`m using flash cs3 for my works , but i have one problem!when i use File=> Import=> Import to Library... or Import to Stage...the flash environment becomes terminated.I changed my flash version to CS4 and I have this problem again.

I am importing a picture in flash and i found out that there is a difference between importing to the stage, and importing to the library... [URL] I've placed both picture close of each other and if you look closely, you'll notice that one of them is losing some resolution. Both picture come from the same file, a png. The picture imported to the stage is sharper than the one imported to the library. is there a way to import that picture to the library without losing any resolution?

View 1 RepliesI have designed a menu that When you mouse over it, a custom cursor appears. When you mouse down it disappears and when you mouse up it returns. If you happen to mouse down and then drag the mouse off of the menu (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up outside the menu, the custom cursor disappears. All good. The only issue is: If you happen to mouse down on the menu and then drag the mouse off of the menu AND off of the stage, i.e the SWF (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up completely off of the stage, the custom cursor appears at the point it left the menu. I have tried to fix this using MOUSE_LEAVE but this dosnt work when the mouse button is pressed down. I have attached an FLA, SWF and the AS below.

I created a quiz using this tutorial : [URL]
and now i want to use this quiz ( the swf file ) in a frame of an application i am working on. I want as soon the user clicks on a button to launch the quiz.
I tried any way found on net for importing external swf but it never works.
the buttons of quiz appear in the wrong place of the stage ( at the fla where the swf is loaded in )and nothing else is seen, textfields etc.
How do I import a .swf so that the entire thing--all 50 frames of it in the case of the animation I'm importing--is centered on the Flash Stage? (I am using CS5). When I import it now it's automatically positioned in the upper left corner of the stage. And when I try to select all frames and align it to the center in the properties manager it will only center one frame of the 50-frame .swf at a time.

It seems to work fine in the library but every time I try to drag it on (or do an import to stage command) it simply doesnt let me move it over! I've tried with a wav and an mp3 but to no avail!

So im working on a game, and i have a mvoie clip of class cPlayer in the library, i also have a class cUser which is an object of a user in the game.
i have an array of users,and have user[0]:cUser = new cUser() loaded when the game starts, which allows me to keep track of that user.
how do i make it so that upon initialization of a cUser instance, it loads an instance of cPlayer (a movie clip in my library) onto the stage, and also control that movie clip from within my class?
is it possible to have each cUser instance control its own cPlayer, or does there need to be another array to keep the cPlayers also?
XD im still trying to wrap my mind around the flash class strucutres.
I just want to ask that, is there anyway to import an animated-gif from my own XML file to my stage?

Im trying to import an external SWF onto the stage of a new Flash project. I found the following AS2 code and created an ActionScript layer and placed it into the first frame. However, when I press the Play button, nothing happens and no movieclip is placed into the library.

I have a flash file (banner ad) that uses some jpgs that I imported onto the stage. When I publish the file... It won't include the images. If the images are in the same folder as the swf.. it will work. However, just the SWF on its own will not display the images. Any ideas?
