Jan 13, 2010ok so ive converted a bunch of files into .flv but i cant seem to import them into flash. when i go to the import menu there is no import video option just open external library. after i've open external library it wants to open "all formats" but everything is greyed out. if I change it to "all files" I can open them but they wont play in the .swf file.

Video encoded with Compressor (codec h.264) then Adobe Media Encoder to FLV
In my flash file I go File/Import Video/ then select Load external video for playback
click Next, Pick the skin, then a bar pops up saying Getting Metadata
Then nothing. Nothing in the Library or Stage. Anyone know why? Hard to think that it happened twice on 2 different machines and OS's.

Feb 10, 2011My students and I enjoyed importing .mov files and tracing over them as we would embed them in the timeline in flash CS3. This year we upgraded to CS5 and I am finding that we cannot import the .mov files.
Does anyone have a solution for a pipeline like this. Flash seems to want us to convert the files to .flv or something.

Jul 14, 2010I am at the point where I'd like to incorporate tables of attribute data specific to my movie clips. For example, tables of demographic info specific to US counties. I'd like to make these data queriable by clicking on a specific county (mc). I've been reading some tutorials and it sounds like I should convert my data to xml (from a CSV or XLS) and then import the XML to my stage and start learning the ins/outs of calling on its values.
Am I starting down the right path? First off, I've not found a very straightforward way to get my data into XML. It originates in a DBF and i could easily convert it to tab-del text, csv or anything else.Also, should i rethink where I am starting with this and not use XML altogether, maybe using something else?

Aug 24, 2010I am trying to embed a 3rd party flash component into my current flash project. As a stand alone, the component works fine but when I try and import the xml file for the component into my current flash project library, the message I get:

Jan 6, 2011No matter the format no matter what the bit rate is, I can't import ANY audio files into flash CS4 without getting the error "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them"
This happens both when I import to the stage and import to the library. Please if you know anything about this issue please help otherwise the whole flash program is useless for me.
Also I found online that installing quicktime fixes the issue. It didn't work for me, I've reinstalled quicktime 3 times to make sure.

Jan 24, 2011Everytime I attempt to import anything into Flash CS4 the application crashes. This happens when I try to import a single 14.0 KB file.I have tried to run in compatability mode but it crashes there too. I am currently running Windows XP SP3 and Adobe Flash CS4 version 10.0.2. I have tried to import them into an existing document as well as into a new document with the same issues. The import screen never pops up, there is a quick flash over the application screen and then the "The application Adobe Flash CS has unexpectedly quit" window appears.I need to do this multiple times through out the day to updates sites, and I am at a standstill until I can get this fixed.I know this happens alot and I hope there is somethign other than reinstalling to get it working again.

Feb 17, 2010- I can import a single AVI video file and convert it to an FLV video.
Problem: I have two AVI video files... one 4GB (20 minute) long and one 2GB (10 minute) long... and want to combine them to have a single 30 minute long FLV video file.
Question:
- Can I do this in Flash? When I "convert" a single AVI video to a FLV using the File, Import method... I can't really see the video on the Flash time line.
- I tried doing a File, Import for file-1.avi and then doing it for file-2.avi... but the two were on top of each other... and not end to end.

Jun 17, 2010I created two custom class called fooClass.as and HelloClass.as Then I want to import both of these Custom Classes in my WorkSpace.fla file
so I do the following I open up my WorkSpace.fla file Press F9 to open up the actionScript panel in FrameOne LayerOne and I type in
import fooClass
import HelloClass
then I want to start using these two classes so I do the following
var work:fooClass = new fooClass();
var space:HelloClass = new HelloClass();
Technically speaking when I type in var work: I should see list of classes inside the library including my custom Class fooClass and HelloClass However after the colon I see other build in classes but not fooClass.
It works in CS5 but not CS4. How do I get to work it in CS4 so that I can use the custom class I created to show up in the library.
