I've created my first animation using a set of digital Jpeg photos and I've figured out the code for inserting this into my web page. It works perfectly and I'm very impressed with the quality of the animation and how small the file is. Now I want to add a simple control bar underneath with Stop, Play, Rewind - the usual stuff you get on YouTube, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it.
I've inserted an audio file into my flash movie and I wondered if there was an easy way to add some volume control and/or an on/off audio button to the movie? Or would this have to be scripted using actionscript?

View 1 RepliesI can't seem to get the Flash player controls to autohide.If you mouse out of the video very slowly the flash player controls that are over the video will autohide. But if you mouse out quickly the controls stay there.
View 4 RepliesI have an issue with an Mp3 player that I've built. The volume controls work fine in the original mp3 swf, but then when I load it into a movieclip in a different movieclip, it no longer works. I've tried the lockroot function, defining the sound class to "this". See the last function for the vol controls. Let me know if it's more convenient to get the original .flas, I can give a link to the source.

Ive found alot swf encoders, but they're all consumer push-button solutions which have given me a noticable loss in quality, regardless if i feed them flv's or uncompressed. As of the moment the only way to get comparible quality is to import one video at a time onto a flash stage, publish, and undo so its length doesnt affect the next flash video. Anyone know of a better way?

On the player interface in addition to play/pause and stop, I have a number of chapter buttons, which I have successfully pointed to the corresponding points in the FLV file. I need to find a way to capture and hold the relevant start and stop times of each of these chapters so that when I am in each chapter, the stop and play buttons will reference the chapter times and control only the relevant chapter, ie in Chapter Two clicking stop will reset to beginning of Chapter 2, not the start of FLV file. Not sure if there are built-in properties and methods I can use, or I need to create something custom.

Is there an easy way to show a progressive bar showing the time remaining for the audio playback, and have rewind, stop, start/pause and fast forward?

View 7 RepliesI need to access and stream flash video stored on a US server. I do so from one of three PCs - all running Windows 7, all with same updates and same version of Flash. Two of them show a given video fine. The third runs the same video but it is clearly truncated on the right and bottom - that is, only part (top left two thirds?) of the video is visible. And two show timecode and the third...doesn't (or its hidden by the truncation). But how can this be? And more importantly, what can I do to make the third PC play streaming video correctly?
View 1 RepliesI took a .flv and placed it in a .swf in Flash Professional CS5 (for smoother playback on my website), and I used Dreamweaver to embed the .swf on one of my webpages. The video plays back fine, but there are no playback controls. In Dreamweaver, I set "PLAY" and "LOOP" to false, so in order to play my video, I have to right-click it and press "Play." That seems odd and possibly confusing/inconvenient for anyone viewing my website (particular potential employers, because this is my online portfolio). how to add playback controls? I don't want to use any external players (like Flowplayer), as I am trying hard to avoid watermarks and having to pay for anything extra.
Interesting note: when I used Dreamweaver to insert the .flv, I had the option to select from a list of playback controls. However, the .flv did not play smoothly on my website, and I found the solution to place the .flv in an .swf for nicer playback.
I have a question in Flash play/pause button. I have created a flash slideshow which was exceeding 16000 frames, so I've split the movie into two. I'm loading the second movie at the end of the main movie using loadMovieNum. I have placed the play/pause button in the main movie which works fine until the second movie loads. This used to work for me in the older version of Flash (flash 8).I'm using CS4 now.

View 1 Repliesok so ive converted a bunch of files into .flv but i cant seem to import them into flash. when i go to the import menu there is no import video option just open external library. after i've open external library it wants to open "all formats" but everything is greyed out. if I change it to "all files" I can open them but they wont play in the .swf file.

In my flash file I go File/Import Video/ then select Load external video for playback
click Next, Pick the skin, then a bar pops up saying Getting Metadata
Then nothing. Nothing in the Library or Stage. Anyone know why? Hard to think that it happened twice on 2 different machines and OS's.
