Im trying to make a menu for a web page using menubar and menu components, is ther any way of making os specifing that the menu can get drawn out of the canvas, since i need that the bar is thin for getting in a space betwen to image headers.

so i am making a website in Dreamweaver cs5 and i am going to be importing a .swf animation for the menu bar i made in Flash. how do i make an action in Flash direct to a page of my website in Dreamweaver for example the index.html file of my web page.right now i have an actions layer with a stop(); command on the last frame of the animation i want to add a command under that, that will take the user to the index.html page of my website when the button is clicked. I have the button already made as well as the animation all i am missing is the code to go to the index.html page.

When the users closes the menu by moving the mouse away from the area the menu collapses. If the user expands the menu again the menu should have remember the last visit menu and show the menu.

Question 1: I'm using a panoramic image as the background for my site. I want it to scroll/pan side to side following the mouse as it moves side to side. I would like it to ease in and out of the motion as well.
Question 2: When the mouse moves over the menu text at the top I want the other navigation buttons to appear under it for a few seconds, and become active, then dissappear if un-clicked.
I am new to Flash. I bought a template online a couple weeks ago, and for the most part have made all the changes to personalize the page. The page is for wedding videography, and came with a Videos section. However, I do not like the template video player, and would like to have the Videos link on the menu bar go straight to my youtube channel rather than to the flash player. Primarily all changes to the template have been made in a text.txt file, rather than the flash file itself. My question is, how could I change the link on the main page to route to my youtube channel? Here's what it looks like in the text file:

View 12 RepliesI have a Flash 'application' that is all on one frame and has about 2000 lines of AS 2 code. Works fine if it's all in Frame 1, but when I move everything (that's every layer and all the code) to Frame 3, for example, my menu bar component (which gets its data from xml files) doesn't load the data. I want to be able to do this so as to put a pre-loader on Frame 1 which would jump to Frame 3 when the SWF has fully loaded.

When you look at my example, and you click on "Technieken" (=Techniques)and then on "Info", the subitems are not always positioned in the right way. Another time the "Technieken" come to stand under "Info"... weird...

View 5 RepliesBasically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

I'm in the midst of creating an extremely rudimentary game show display. It will essentially function like the big screen in Jeopardy.
I want to be able to have this operate in four stages. First stage: One frame will have all the question categories and values laid out in a grid. Second stage: I will click on a category and have it link to a frame that displays a question. Third stage: Once my participant answers the question, I will click once more and be linked to a frame that has the answer. Fourth stage: I click a link back to my initial grid of questions, but the category I just went through is now a different colour/blacked out/faded
I can do steps 1-3 quite easily, I just don't know how to make step four work. Just to clarify, say all the questions are in blue and I click "History for 200". I want to be able to go through, answer that question, come back to the grid, and have "History for 200" now be in red (or something). This would have to work for multiple questions, as it should show the participants which questions have already been asked.
I'm a quick learner and am just looking for the actionscript or whatever that requires this. My question wasn't really short enough for searches of Google and this forum to yield anything.

I am trying to figure out how to get the submenus to push the rest of the main menu down on rollover kind of like this. Not sure where to start to get the AS to get the button created fromt he XML nodes to move down.I haven't changed the code found int he tut too much and the menu works fine except that the rollovers just go over the main menu.
