I use a content management system [CMS] here at work so am to a certain extent restricted in terms of web design. In Dreamweaver I can easily create 'hotspots' on an image so there are hyperlinks all over it, however inserting this image in the CMS so that all the 'hotspots' work isn't possible (well I can't make it work). However, it is possible to embed Flash into the CMS by using appropriate code in an html portlet.
Consequently, if I have a .PNG image how do I convert that to a movie in Flash and then create lots of hyperlinks all over the image? If Flash is not the best way to do this, should I use Fireworks? In Fireworks I am able to add hotspots to an image, but when I save the image with the hotspots in my 'web folder' and view the url, the hotspots don't work. The onlt way I seem to be able to make the hotspots work in Fireworks is to save it as a .htm and then view that url, but obviously that is no good as I can't insert that as an image on a webpage in the CMS as it isn't an image
I want to create a page with art work where images are pulled externally and the items in the grid also have text and are clickable (all taken from XML).I succesfully extracted information from XML and am using a for loop to create my image gird but not sure this is the best method? I have used an XML gallery tutorial from Republic of Code to get me started. Below is the for loop what I am struggling with at the moment is that the product images are not loading into the individual movie clips.Im new to AS3 so sorry if I am doing this all wrong.
Code: function callProductThumbs():void { //Loops through the XML Lists as defined by external Web Service

I'm new to flash as a whole but it is necessary for a project that I'm working on. How to make a scrolling dynamic text box through trial and error, and I'm proud of that feature. But now I need to know if two things are possible. Can I create a hyperlink (if I can call it that) that will pull documents off of the web? And if so what is a sample function. The second thing I would like to know is can I embed an image file into that dynamic text box? If so how can I do that.
I am using the carousel as a navigation bar for a website, but instead of opening a window inside of the carousel, I want it to just load a new page for each individual image. I know that this requires putting the links into the XML file which I have done, but I'm struggling with the actionscript
I have a banner ad that cycles back and forth between two ads, and am trying to set it up so that when the first ad is up (5 seconds or so) and the viewer clicks on it, it goes to one URL, and when it changes to the second ad and the viewer clicks, it takes them to a different URL.
I created an interactive document in InDesign CS5 that I exported as a .swf and inserted it into a html based webpage. I would like the buttons I created with url actions to open the url in the same broswer window and not in a new broswer window. Is this possible in ID CS5 and if not how can I get it done. I have enough knowledge in flash to be dangerous.
I've just begun to dabble in Flash and created a neat little project first up as an experiment, but now want to learn how to take it to the next level.
I watched this tutorial...

and am now wondering how I can hyperlink the main images?
I have a movie that consists of one image that scrolls across the screen. It all works beautifully. Although it's one image (jpeg) that has been saved as a movie clip, the single image is actually made up of a number of logos. What I want to do is to make each of those logos a separate hyperlink that will link to different external URLs. As the logos scroll across the screen, you can pick any one that happens to be showing at the time (the actual movie clip is larger than the stage) and then go to the relevant site.
If I save the jpeg as a button, I can't then make it scroll across the screen in the same way and I don't want to break up the image into indivdual files, as it will then not scroll as a single unit with the Actionscript that I'm using.
I have created a flash website and have encountered a problem. I am using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 3.0.I have created a text box (at the moment it is Dynamic because I have it scrolling) with text entered into it. I want hyperlink sections of the text to other frames within the flash movie. The text box is on the "news" frame - this is a page for archived news. I want to highlight pieces of the text and create hyperlinks to each of the archived news stories (each of which is on a different frame).I know how to create buttons from text and link them to different frames, however I do not want to do this because I want to maintain the text box (with hyperlinks within the text box) so that I can make this page scrollable.I have tried highlighting the text and hyperlinking it to the frame number, to the frame name, to the frame anchor, ec..
I'm really new to flash, and just taking an intro level course at the moment.Anyways, for one of my projects,I wanted to load some .jpg files onto the stage, and make buttons from certain aspects of the image.So for example,I have an image of a coconut that I wanted to make a button out of.Right now I am trying to use the pen tool to outline the shape of the coconut, and then create a symbol from the pen tools shape.However, I'm obviously not doing something right, as when I turn the image into a symbol, instead of creating a button symbol from my outline with the pen tool, it just turns my whole .jpg file into a symbol.
I want to be able to make multiple clickable buttons from a single image,I know how the coding will work once I can make the individual buttons, but right now I seem to be missing a step.
I have a logo that I'd like to animate for a class presentation. The logo can be seen here: [URL]. I would like only the word LEAF to fade in, and then the blue portion to wind its way around (Starting at the gap at the top, going clockwise and finishing by revealing to two shorter lines in the center). At first I tried to mask the blue portion in segments, but couldn't figure out how to link multiple symbols together to mask the same image.
I have a flash movie with 3 buttons I am trying to link relativley to pages within my site, I have one working fine but can't get the others to link and when I try it makes the one that is working, work no more..
Below's the code I am using for the one that is working;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;var getIndex:URLRequest = new URLRequest("../index.html"); //---Enter Button---\
In version before flash CS5, we could copy multiple objects from multiple layer by just click and drag + ALT, that was really usefull and it becames vital for me. Now in the CS5... the click and drag + ALT on multiple objects from multiple layer is copying all objects to only one layer !
I have 260 images that I need to place on different frame. Instead of dragging them one by one the image on the stage, is there a way to drop all of them in one shot but each images is on a different frame?
when I try to make text or a button into a hyperlink within that tooltip, it doesn't seem to be usable in the preview. I click on the text/button, and it just doesn't do anything. I've tried coding it several different ways, and looked for an appropriate tutorial, but I haven't been able to find any luck. Is there something I'm missing? Can I even make hyperlinks in a tooltip that's made with that simplified code, or will I have to find another way to make them?
The site's main area is the 3D AS2(oldschool) carousel(Lee Brimelow model) and one of the icons, when clicked, adds the content to the cooresponding textbox like the tutorial. I want the names of the URL's to be hyperlinks. So in essense, one of the icons is a portfolio link area, where I have the content= text like this:
Code: Select all<icons>
<icon image="icon1.png" tooltip="PORTFOLIO" content="Please, feel free to visit some of our projects around the web we've done for clients:[url]....
I obviouysly want the url's to link t that URL.This issue has not been directly answered from what research I have done today(ALL FREEGIN DAY!)
can someone just tell me the EASIEST way to make a text field or a buttohyperlink to another page on a site, a text anchor or another web site altogether?I don't know why Adobe has made this so un-intuitive and difficult. InDesign has a hyperlinks panel that makes it easy.I'm trying to modify a nav menu template that someone else created
As part of a much, much larger project, a client has asked me to take an existing flash banner, change the graphic, text, and link to make 4 more that are almost identical. Though I haven't worked extensively with Flash, I am familiar with it and thought this should be fairly easy, right? (Unfortunately, easy isn't exactly the word I'd use.)
I'm trying to take an existing fla, and change just the graphic, text, and button link to make a nearly identical banner. However, when I import a new image to replace the old image, the button disappears. I've tried overwriting the current image as well, and while I have a new image to show on the banner, and the text still works just fine, AND I have the outline of the box that should house the button (it even shows in the library),
Additionally, I will need to change the link, and since I'm having this much problem with a button, maybe you could understand how that works as well, because I can't even change it on the original.
What i want is: A slider that can be pulled by the user across an image to reveal a second one underneath. The same as this example, only I want a vertical scroll button not a horizontal. [URL]
I have a script that loads an image and inside this swf document, I have a few icons such as glasses, hats, etc.. However, when I try to drag and drop these icons over the uploaded picture, the icons are dragged BEHIND the image uploaded.
I recently made a .swf file which is hosted here [URL] as you can see the hyperlinks work fine and go to the correct sites. My question and impass is that whenever I post this same file as a forum signature it works fine but when I click on the hyperlinks they don't bring up the websites they act like they are dead.
btw the hyperlinks are just Text that I changed to Dynamic text with urls.
My flash is incide an iframe. The problem is that the hyperlinks incide the flash are opening in a new window or incide the iframe.I want the link to load in the current window.
