Mar 31, 2010I wonder how it is possible to do a working link on a .swf file to open a new URL. The link is working but it seems that the second Blue layer where the "button" is created is not transparent as this is on top of the animation. So the only thing that is seen is this blue layer when presented in the HTML. I think the problem is that the 2:nd layer isn�t transparent and I dont know how to make it transparent? I think the problem is on step 2?
1. Import the .flv file.
2. Create a new layer wich in this case is Blue (How to make it transparent ?)
3. Draw a rectangle the same size as your banner
4. Go to the Modify menu and select 'Convert to Symbol'
5. In the pop up window make sure the behaviour is set to 'button'
6. Then in your Behaviours panel click on add behaviour (+ symbol at the top) and select option web/goto web page
7. enter url of page, in this case [URL]

Actionscript - StartDrag Event On Movie Click Only Drags One Layer Flash ?
Jun 29, 2010I have a problem with the startDrag function I'm using in AS3. Right now I have a movie clip which is made up of 4 different layers. I export the movie clip, create and object of it, add in an event listener for mouse clicks that calls the startDrag function. However, instead of dragging the entire Movie Clip and all of its parts, it only grabs and drags one layer around, which breaks the different parts of the Movie Clip up.

This is my function for the MouseClick event on the MovieClip. I initiate the startDrag event, but here it will not drag the entire Move Clip for some reason it only drags the different pieces inside the clip.

Jan 11, 2010I want to create a simple mask. A white oval on a second layer on top of a bottom layer that just has a word of type. I want the oval to travel from the upper left down to cover up the type. When I create the second layer, create the oval, and choose a distant frame for the "end" of the oval's positioning, my type in the first layer disappears as soon as I press F6 on that second layer. Why? Why is it nuking my first layer?

Jul 29, 2010I'm wanting to create a moving object that will be exported into a tv commercial. Object has already been created in Adobe Illustrator, and now will be dropped into flash for adding movement. The destination commercial will be created in Sony Vegas, with the settings of (Australian) PAL television (25 fps, 576x720 pixels, lower field first).Thus keeping it simple, I want to set Adobe flash with the same output format, meaning that the canvas will have to be 576x720 pixels at 25 fps. So far this seems to have worked okay.Now I'm wanting to get rid of the canvas colour, just like I have here in this photoshop screen shot.
Judging by the colour palette in Flash Professional, it looks like it can't be done. I've checked "transparent palette" through yahoo and google, and had no results. The adobe documentation only details how to remove a background in Photoshop.
Professional :: Multiple Hyperlinks On An Image?
Apr 24, 2011I use a content management system [CMS] here at work so am to a certain extent restricted in terms of web design. In Dreamweaver I can easily create 'hotspots' on an image so there are hyperlinks all over it, however inserting this image in the CMS so that all the 'hotspots' work isn't possible (well I can't make it work). However, it is possible to embed Flash into the CMS by using appropriate code in an html portlet.
Consequently, if I have a .PNG image how do I convert that to a movie in Flash and then create lots of hyperlinks all over the image? If Flash is not the best way to do this, should I use Fireworks? In Fireworks I am able to add hotspots to an image, but when I save the image with the hotspots in my 'web folder' and view the url, the hotspots don't work. The onlt way I seem to be able to make the hotspots work in Fireworks is to save it as a .htm and then view that url, but obviously that is no good as I can't insert that as an image on a webpage in the CMS as it isn't an image
Professional :: Individual Hyperlinks Required In Movie
Nov 11, 2010I have a movie that consists of one image that scrolls across the screen. It all works beautifully. Although it's one image (jpeg) that has been saved as a movie clip, the single image is actually made up of a number of logos. What I want to do is to make each of those logos a separate hyperlink that will link to different external URLs. As the logos scroll across the screen, you can pick any one that happens to be showing at the time (the actual movie clip is larger than the stage) and then go to the relevant site.
If I save the jpeg as a button, I can't then make it scroll across the screen in the same way and I don't want to break up the image into indivdual files, as it will then not scroll as a single unit with the Actionscript that I'm using.

I am using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 3.0.I have created a text box (at the moment it is Dynamic because I have it scrolling) with text entered into it. I want hyperlink sections of the text to other frames within the flash movie. The text box is on the "news" frame - this is a page for archived news. I know about the WMODE transparency, however, I'm not actually using an HTML file, rather and going to embed this SWF at the top of a wordpress site in the header, so I don't think that the WMODE really matters anyway.I can't believe that even in 2010 (ok almost 2011!) that Flash doesn't support transparency yet, but I've been proven wrong beforeThis is a super simple SWF.....not even any real navigation in it.

When I put images with the appropriately desinated colors in flash, it changes the color ever so slightly when it runs in the page. It's JUST enough for it to be noticable. Oct 9, 2010I'm trying to make a simple text animation but the background won't go away from my exports. I need to make a movie file (.avi or .mov) and nothing is letting me remove the white space in the background.Things I have tried:
Go to Publish settings > HTML > Window mode: Trasparent Windowless
Result: White background remains
Make a .mov and in Quicktime Export Settings checkmark Ignore Stage Color (generate alpha)
Result: This time, everything was black (text was black too so it probably blended withthe background[code].....
So far nothing works so what is the deal with flash not comprehending with a clear background in movie files?

Apr 10, 2008I have created mask layer with single MC cosisting of couple of instaces of another MC. This is a set of growing squares. The problem is that only first instance gives mask effect. Rest of instances are not used to. Does anybody knows what is wrong and how to workaround this (most likely)bug ? I would like to avoid creating one masking MC consisting of e.g. 100 layers - with teened growing sqare on each layer but in different position. Wiser is just to create one MC consisting of many instances of another single MC.Second example describing issue.Mask layer contains shape tween which consist of 3 keyframes.Masked layer contains single keyframe at first frame with one MC. This MCrestarts when middle keyframe in the mask is played. It seems that masked MC (on different layer obviously) is recreated when playhead meets keyframe in mask layer in tweened shape. In the same moment our MC stopped beeing visible for AS3 under given name as well.It seems that if mask layer contains more complex animation then basic shape move/scale then masking stops working properly. Is it bug in Flash palaer or am I doing mistake?

Apr 25, 2011Im using PS CS5 to build the parts of animation i am making in Flash CS5. Im not using PS for the animation as the GIF quality is horrendous, and also rotating layers for animation is a no go!Anyway, im saving the individual layers in (Save for Web) as PNG-24 files with transparency. Then importing them 'To Stage' in Flash. That side is all good.
When ive made the animation in Flash and go to 'Publish Preview' there is a 'background' there. Also there is a border around the files on the stage. This appears to be the size of the 'background' in the animation. Transparency is set in the GIF settings.

Professional :: Drag Psd Layer Onto Flash Stage?
Jun 28, 2011I'm having difficulty getting a photoshop document logo onto the flash stage. I've tried dragging the psd layer onto the stage and also tried importing through flash as a jpeg but no matter what I do, my image has a white box around it which makes any animations look discouragingly terrible. How can I best get multiple psd text layers and also a seperate psd layer that's a portrait cutout without having a white box around the image. All I want to do is make a banner with a gradient background that glows while a portrait cutout glides from the left and text layers appear from the right. What would be the best frame rate for this type of simple animation?
