I want to have layer pop in my flash movie that allows the user to click and drag it around the screen. I also want this to have minimize, maximize, and close buttons on it.

Im trying to do a drag and drop system where the user can drag a movie clip into an area. Although i would like to make it snap to a target instead of just sitting wherever it lands in the area. Problem Two:

I have a problem with the startDrag function I'm using in AS3. Right now I have a movie clip which is made up of 4 different layers. I export the movie clip, create and object of it, add in an event listener for mouse clicks that calls the startDrag function. However, instead of dragging the entire Movie Clip and all of its parts, it only grabs and drags one layer around, which breaks the different parts of the Movie Clip up.

This is my function for the MouseClick event on the MovieClip. I initiate the startDrag event, but here it will not drag the entire Move Clip for some reason it only drags the different pieces inside the clip.

I have run into a drag and drop issue .I have an item that I would like to drag and drop. Seems simple enough, but I also want to make it that if the user drags the image off the screen, that it stops dragging and returns the image to the center of the screen. What happens now is that it continues dragging and sticks to the cursor if you release outside of the viewable area. The original piece has a lot of other things going on, so I ve created a simple piece with the AS in the timeline that shows only this particular issue.

In the game spank the monkey, how would I achieve the drag and drop functionality of the game? specifications: Press the hand to enable drag and drop As soon as user drags the hand out of the flash movie, the hand is released, despite whether or not the user's mouse is still pressed.If the user's mouse is still pressed even after coming back to the flash screen the hand does not respond until pressed again.I tried multiple things but to no avail.
One of my attempts involved having a constant onMouseMove event handler that flagged a "out_of_bound" area, but mc.onPress = function(){ //drag } does not respond after the initial press.

I need to develop, what would be like, a projector screen that the user could pull down, read what is on it, and click to "roll" back up. I know how to do the interaction with the mouse and all, but how do I make the object "grow" so it is hidden when it is "rolled" up and slowly reveals itself like a projector screen would?

I want to have a segment of text can be dragged across the screen.I've tried both TextField and TextArea.The TextField is easy to format to the right font size, color, etc., but I can't figure out a way to use startDrag to move it.I can drag TextArea, but that is difficult to format and I haven't figured out how to get rid of the white text entry area.What I'm after is "free-floating" text that the user can drag to different locations on the screen.

I'm having difficulty getting a photoshop document logo onto the flash stage. I've tried dragging the psd layer onto the stage and also tried importing through flash as a jpeg but no matter what I do, my image has a white box around it which makes any animations look discouragingly terrible. How can I best get multiple psd text layers and also a seperate psd layer that's a portrait cutout without having a white box around the image. All I want to do is make a banner with a gradient background that glows while a portrait cutout glides from the left and text layers appear from the right. What would be the best frame rate for this type of simple animation?

I recently posted a .swf inside a new window with javascript. everything works fine on a PC, the movie will load on a mac. You should be able to click and drag to "spin" the object within the movie (it cycles a series of photos to give a 360 view), but when on a mac the cursor changes but images are not cycling. i'm sure it could be a number of different things but I'm unsure where to start.

Basically what I have is a 31 frame, frame-by-frame animation that plays(no stop() command at all currently) in a continuous loop on one "page" of a flash presentation. What I need to be able to do is set it up in actionscript 2.0 so that when a viewer has his mouse over the movie symbol and then clicks and drags to the right, the movie plays forward, click and drag to the left and it plays in reverse, and on release stops on the frame it is currently on.
I need it set up so that if someone is dragging it to the right and reverses direction, the frames are played in reverse from that point (frame) and vice versa and releasing the mouse button stops the movie on that frame: e.g. if the viewer is dragging right up to frame 20 then starts dragging to the left the animation will play backwards from frame 20 to frame 1 so long as the mouse button is held down) I can't use playback buttons, I have to set this up this way for a specific reason for a work project. I'm not even sure if I explained it correctly If I can set this up on the frame the symbol is nested in, fine. If it has to be done within the symbols' animation, fine. Doesn't matter really, the end result is what counts.

that said, i have a simple movie clip animating that i want the user to be able to click different buttons to cycle through different versions of this movie clip. so, my question is, how do i allow the user to click one of these 4 buttons, and have the movie clip change to the corresponding version of that movie clip? again, this is all pretty basic stuff and i'd like to keep it as simple as possible, since i'm still new!

Im creating a program that is designed to allow the used to select 3 pictures (movie clips) and print them off on a single peace of paper.
The program works by allowing the user to select 3 graphics (the graphics are actually instructions for various exercises) and then moving the desired movieclips onto the stage. This all happens on a layer named "Content"
So far the program will allow the user to select the movieclips and will move them into place on the Content layer as well as move smaller versions of the pictures into a preview box the only thing it does not do is print. (the most important bit)

I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....

Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.

My question is what needs to be done in order to make a .swf file go into full screen without falling to a black screen when a movie is played? I have tried coding it, however I come up with the following error.

I have an image on my frame. (a circle). I need this circle to blink on the screen based on user's input. The circle display time and the hide time should be input in a input text box in the beginning. Also this has to blink for "x" number of user defined cycles. I know how to control the delay between blinks but I cannot control the amount of time the circle stays on screen.

I just started playing around with as3 and I have a function for mouse clicks that draws a shape on each click. However the mouse click event does not appear to work unless I click a movieClip object I placed in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to make the mouse click event recognize when I click anywhere on the screen?

What's the correct way to detect, from Flash, when someone has started a drag within the browser (eg, a MOUSE_DOWN event), dragged the mouse outside the browser window, released the button, then moved the mouse back over the browser?For example (assuming StackOverflow was a Flash application):I've tried the "obvious" thing, checking event.buttonDown in the MOUSE_MOVE handler, but even though the mouse button is up, event.buttonDown is true in step 2 (above).So, is there any other way to check the "real" status of the mouse button? Or any other way to handle this situation?
