I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....

I have an image on the stage which is bigger than the stage itself:
The stage is 700x550
The image is 2100x1650, and it's registration point is at its center, if I remember correctly.The initial location of the image on the stage is 350,75.I want to make sure that the user will be able to drag the image, as long as the edges of the image doesn't show.here's what I did:
mapRect = new Rectangle(0-mapMC.width/2, 0-mapMC.height/2, mapMC.width, mapMC.height);
and later on:
mapMC.startDrag(false,mapRect);
The the top and the left of the image are bounded well, but as far as the bottom and the right side of the image.
I want to have layer pop in my flash movie that allows the user to click and drag it around the screen. I also want this to have minimize, maximize, and close buttons on it.
View 2 RepliesI have run into a drag and drop issue .I have an item that I would like to drag and drop. Seems simple enough, but I also want to make it that if the user drags the image off the screen, that it stops dragging and returns the image to the center of the screen. What happens now is that it continues dragging and sticks to the cursor if you release outside of the viewable area. The original piece has a lot of other things going on, so I ve created a simple piece with the AS in the timeline that shows only this particular issue.

Eventually I would like it to show our projects along a horizontal axis, when the user clicks an image additional images and text is revealed. At the moment I have got the horizontal axis working with images loading in and separating into each project. Now I am trying to code it so that for every project a mask is loaded in with the height of the mask equaling the length of the pictures (which I think may need me to restructure my code). So that only the first image is shown.

I'm not sure if i need to restructure the code so that for every project in the xml file it inserts the images of that project into a new movieclip, not sure how to do that though.
I would like to create a simple photo gallery in as3. I would like the user to be able to click on the image thumbnail and see an enlarged version come up next to it. The only galleries I see for flash are XML galleries and it was really complicated the last time I tried it.

I made a flash animation (click here) and I put a preloader made by an user by drag'n'drop. So all works ok but after animation if I refresh the page (by F5) preloader loops without load nothing!

I'm stuck trying to achieve something in AS2. The principle is easy: the user can drag/throw a timeline (with thumbnails) around, but I want it to snap to certain positions. I've created an example to show what I need. You can already drag/throw the timeline around, but, as it slows down, I want it to always snap into a position where one of the purple rectangles snaps to the grey area so a thumbnail is always covering the grey area. So when you throw the timeline hard enough, it would fly quite far (speed of timeline > attraction force of the snapping points), but as it slows down, the snapping force takes over and the timeline snaps in place.

I would like to know how to make it so when you click a button, it goes to a different frame within a MOVIE CLIP. Kind of like gotoAndPlay but not a frame in the timeline. I would like it to move to a different frame in a movie clip.

View 2 Repliesive got the following code. bevvy is a movieclip, theres a dynamic text box called feedText nd a box.. imaginately called box. I'm trying to create a drag and drop game when the user drags a word into the box that will have its meaning beside it in a text box, the dynamic text box will tell them if they are right or not. if they are right the word stays, if not the word will go back to its original location. the dynamic text box will give feedback whether they are right or not.
the code below means that the word will stay in the box, but the text message is displayed all the time. i also have a reset button to make the word return to its origal location but id rather not have the button.

am hoping someone here might have some source in the little bag o' trix that will put me on the right road to achieving the following. i am trying to work out the best way of creating a movie that has buttons that when clicked will zoom into and centre a certain area of a larger movieclip?
and then a way of dragging the zoomed into movieclip around the stage area? or panning using x/y positions of the mouse. (and without asking for the moon on a stick - if the user clicks on a empty part of the zoomed mc - it zooms back out to it's original size position?)
any have any fla files or know of any good tut's or threads that can will give me a leg up to get it working? fingers crossed has done this before or know a good place to start?

that the .mp3 file is in the same directory as the .swf file. You should also make
sure that the .mp3 file is named the same as faFile in the FlashAmp .txt file.
The benefits of this method are that the .mp3 file only downloads if the user gets
to the bit in your Flash file where you call it. It also plays as it streams although there will be a slight delay as it buffers (FlashAmp will take account of this delay as the arrays are based on the position of the sound).

One of my attempts involved having a constant onMouseMove event handler that flagged a "out_of_bound" area, but mc.onPress = function(){ //drag } does not respond after the initial press.
I'd love to know how to make click and drag two different things. As it believes the drag function is also a click. Also I'd love to know how to set it so that ALL movieclips stop when they reach say -10px from each side?
