Feb 26, 2010I have an animated logo .fla file, there some some AS 2.0 in it. I basically need to scale and crop the entire file (just like you'd scale and crop an image in photoshop).

Nov 3, 2010Does anyone know a way to crop a SWF like you would crop an image in Photoshop? I'm building a Flash Banners application in my Flash portfolio website and I'm loading a SWF using addChild via a URL loader object. There is no way to mask the outsides of the SWF because addChild puts the SWF at the front of the display list so the masks would just show up anyway and the masks will just be huge white sheets that will look dreadful. I need to LITERALLY crop the SWF down to 550 X 325 pixels.

Oct 29, 2010I have drawn objects outside the stage in the belief they would be croped automatically when creating the swf. BUT it doesn't. The objects are of course on the stage but pour over the edge... Anyone who knows what I need to do? To actually draw the objects inside the stage can be trickey since they are sort of supposed to be bigger than the stage. If I draw them inside the stage there is a risk of a little gap.

Feb 7, 2007 I got a swf file called 'NW_site_4_diap.swf' centered in my browser with html. At the moment, anything that sticks out from the stage to the surrounding area get's displayed in the browser. Now I'd like to crop the swf file at its stage size. How do I get flash or html to crop all elements to the exact stage size? Here's the html code I used:

Professional :: Adobe Media Encoder CS5 - Crop And Resize At Same Time Possible?
Mar 11, 2011Flash 8's video encoder, use to let you crop (cut x amount of pixels out) and then resize a video (and in that order it did it). CS5's Media Encoder is confusing, from what I can tell it cannot do both, you either can crop or resize but not both. ANd if you can do both, you definately cant crop before the resize. So which is it? Resizing made sense last, because you could put in new values for the resize nad figure out how much you need to crop out.

Jul 23, 2010quick question that I'm stumped on.I'm making a flash banner advertisement to go on a few websites.The guidlines I was given say to adhere to 40kb eachThe only trouble is that the client gave me a 250 kb.swf file that he wanted to be included in the files, so I've imported it as a movie clip, and sized it down (pixel wise) to the appropriate dimensions.The end results end up being about 260kb each.Is there a way to dramatically optimize a .swf file? 40 kb seems pretty unreasonable for a 300 x 250 flash ad. Typically when I do these, they come out to about 100+ kb.

Feb 5, 2010I'm doing and animatic movie with flash (means lots of hand drawn frames and many layers) I also have about 40 sequences
I would like to scale down my whole movie to a smaller size like 720*480 (actual is 1980*1080) but when I change size in "propery" window it just change the size of workspace and drawings stays the same size.
is there any way to have the graphics scale to the new document size without using "transform tool" on each sequence, because flash crashes when I do that.

Jun 23, 2010I just finished animating a scene with multiple layers and multiple motion tweens on those layers. But after testing it, i decided that it is too fast. Does anyone know how to scale everything on the timeline without changing the framerate?Also, how can i scale the size (transform) an object that already has a motion tween applied to it? I want to scale it on each frame in the animation, not just the first. I've tried, and it changes the animation where i scale it on the timeline.

Aug 15, 2011Under the stroke properties before or after I draw a line, I set it to NORMAL but when I re-select the line, it keeps changing it back to NONE. Some how it is now the default and I cannot change it I have tried opening new documents from scratch but I still cannot get it back to scale normally. All the lines are inside movie clips and these movie clips need to scale properly. Stage is at 1684 x 1322 animated map operated by buttons in a static key located outside of map border, all on stage. Map also pans/zooms.
Two scenarios:-
1) resize stage and all contents down to a different size.
2) resize the animated map down but more so than the static key (sits outside the map) which should remain readable.
Professional :: Dynamic Text For A Large Scale Project?
Jan 22, 2011I understand that, in order get an anti-aliased font in a dynamic text field, the most given advice is to embed the font. But that doesn't work for my project since we want to make it available in multiple languages, and there are too many fields that must be embedded, and it greatly increases the file size of just one scene.
The other option I have seen people use is to custom anti-alias, but for some reason, this option just is not working for me. I fiddle and fiddle with the sliders, and no change is ever made. We are only using Arial, so I am at a complete loss as to why I seem to get no changes in the text from this option.

Dec 27, 2010I wrote these functions which I use in conjunction to scale down some BitmapData and save it as a PNG. However, the scaledImage.draw(originalImage, scalingMatrix, null, null, null, true); line with smoothing set to true does not have the intended smoothing effect when I save the bitmap data as a PNG using the second function. The resulting image file is not antialiased at all. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here?

Its easy to do this at the state level but I'd now like to do this for all the counties in the US.I'd like to be able to mouse over a state and get information pertinent to each state (this I know how to do). When one clicks on the state, they'll then fly-in to a more zoomed level where they can see county-level information.Should I build this so that clicking on a state simply loads a new FLA specific to that state and its counties? This seems easy but clunkyIt seems smarter to have all the info in one FLA. Nov 18, 2011 I've been looking for a JSFL command that might do this, but haven't come across anything even remotely similar to what I'm trying to achieve. Perhaps there is another solution besides JSFL that someone might know of.Question: Is there a way that I can select multiple symbols (either in a single frame or across multiple frames) and apply a scale transform that will adhere to each symbol's registration point?
Scenario:In an animation sequence, a movieclip of a tall rectangle is tweened on the timeline using "classic" tween. There are 20keyframes, where the mc changes position and rotation.In a duplicate of that animation sequence, I want to change the height of all instances of the mc in the animation, but keep the position and rotation. The rectangle should stay a rectangle, only shorter.I go to a keyframe, select the mc, and enter the desired scale percentage for the height in the transform pane. Then I repeat this for the other 19 keyframes. Imagine the pain and suffering I go through when this is done for several sequences!
Ideally,I would want to use the "edit multiple frame" mode in the timeline, select all instances of the mc across all 20 keyframes, and apply the height transform to all mcs via JSFL or dark magic.Flash's default behavior transforms multiple objects as a group,so not only will it squash and shear the different mc instances(creating diamonds),it will also shrink the distances between the different positions(changing the path of the tweens).I'm looking for a way to apply the transform so that each instance scales to their own registration point,preserving their position and respective of their rotation.

Jul 15, 2010I have a 'puzzle' with the pieces 'scattered' haphazardly around. These pieces are all instances of my PTPuzzlePiece.as class, which works great for all intents and purposes. When the user selects a photo from the picture library, the pieces all properly display their 'masked' portion of the image. However, I have a problem in that the masked bitmap displayed in each piece is only 'masked' and not cropped.
This means that, for instance on the third piece down on the left hand side, 100 not-visible pixels of bitmap extend below the piece and out of the 'framed' area. This totally throws off my calculations when I go to scale and then print the screen using the AIR PrintJob, and when I scale that 'card' down to a 'button' on the menu where the user chooses which 'card' they wish to use. Is there a way to crop the not-visible area out, or copy only the visible pixels as BitmapData into a new Bitmap entity so that the layout is entirely contained within the 'frame'?
