I am building a website in flash and was wondering if it is possible to change the background size for each page of a website that I build in Flash?I know how to change the template background etc. but I changed the background size to a bigger size on page 3 and now the whole site is like that.
View 2 RepliesI'm making a post-apocalyptic series and I'm drawing all my backgrounds/characters in photoshop and importing them into flash. The problem I'm encountering is that the file size is WAAAAAAAAY too big whenever I import the character drawing straight from photoshop. Is there some trick to making characters look like they're drawn in photoshop or some trick to greatly lowering the file size? Three items on screen at once with no animation and my file size is over 1 meg.

View 4 RepliesI'm trying to work with a very long image that scrolls through a page. Piecing it together, it's roughly 12000 pixels wide. I can't view the image because the pasteboard seems to only be around 3000 pixels. Is there a way to increase pasteboard size?

The strange thing is I can change the fill colour and change the stroke size on the pencil, but why can't I change the stroke on the brush?

View 2 RepliesI've created a banner ad (attached) for my company and intended to have it appear as a rectangle with rounded edges (transparent corners). It seems like I need to create a transparent border or mask to have my animated banner appear in this way.
Can I add a mask or a border to the whole thing just to make the rounded corners transparent and see the background colour of the site I'm putting it on?
Note: the corners are currently white. I can't change the colour to match the site background as 1. the banner will be shown in different places, and 2. the background is a gradient.

I'm using Flash CS5 and AS3. I've made a form using the library's "User Interface" object and I want to change the font size for the TextInput and TextArea fields but I can't find any option in their properties to change it.
I've tried this code

even though I don't get any error while publishing, my page doesn't appear, if I remove this code the page comes back to work.

View 9 RepliesWhen I click the type tool and drag a text box out and type a couple words at 235pt size it looks fine. as soon as I click off the text box, the text size jumps down. I have no idea why this is happening and I can't get it to stay. When I click the type tool on the box again the tet appears at the 235pt size. But when I click off of it and play the movie it is at the incorrect size.

I have made 4 of these very short looping .swf files.Is it possible, by adding one simple button on the screen, for the user click and the next .swf background starts playing? So basically this button acts a 'next' button, and each times it's clicked the next .swf starts to play.

I'm making a vertical scroller with a mask. The content is inside a movieclip and the user scrolls around it.My problem is, I have lots and lots of content to put inside that movieclip, and I've reached the limit of the sheet. All inside the movieclip. How do I resize the sheet/canvas inside the movieclip so that I can put more info in it??I've googled it, but found nothing.Note: I just want to change the size of the sheet/canvas inside a movieclip and I don't want to change my document size. View 1 RepliesSo ive been asked to build a page for a real state company and the guy told me it should be similar to these [URL] Ive been trying a couple of weeks so far, but i dont seem to find a way to do somthing similar, i mean, i want to have the welcome screen as those two:
- the gradient background
- flash occupies whole screen no matter what size it is
- gradient expands sideways infinately
- no matter what height my explorer window is, gradient is always in the same position relative to top, and if i keep expanding downwards the background keeps last colour of the gradient.
- the brand logo looks as if it had top, left and right anchors, and it also limitates the minimum width of the explorer window
i though of addind a 3000 x 3000px square with the gradient and centering it, but i know there has to be a professional way of achieving that.
I'm using evt.target.borderColor = 0xff00000 to successfully change the color of a dynamic text filed that is the target Now I'm trying to change the border size. borderSize isn't being accepted, so I was wondering if there is an attribute to change the border size of a text field? My internet searches are coming up with nothing that works.
View 1 RepliesI am colorblind.I need to change either the color of the background or the color of the text on the layers section on the Timeline.I simply cannot read/see what is currently showing.It is a very light blue background with white text and white dots for seeing, locking, or setting the outline color.I need to either change the text color and dots to black so I can see them, or try to change the background color to a dark blue so I can read the white text.Changing the text color would really be my preference. Adobe hasn't been very concerned about colorblindness when developing these products. I can barely make out all the light grey/grey/dark grey/grey stuff.
View 7 RepliesUsing AS3, how can I attach links to outbound websites? I have a button graphic dragged onto the timeline. It is meant to function much like a "hot spot". So, I would like to attach the script to the button so that it will link to another website when clicked upon. But where do I add the script in AS3, and what is that script to be? ~ For example, do I need to go into edit mode where I see the 4 states, or can I simply attach it to the main timeline? - I'm looking to do whatever's the simplest!
Also, the button is called myButton in my library...can I use that same button for everywhere I want to add an outbound link to different websites, or am I going to have to change the name for every different link? For example, myButton02, myButton03? I'm hoping to use the same graphic button, and hoping the timeline will understand and follow the script instead of being confused and all links wind up going to the same site.

I am very new to flash ads and we are on a new platform after a website redesign. I'm having trouble with flash display settings I'm guessing since the ad displays fine in IE, but not fine in Firefox and Chrome. Images to follow (for the curious it is a YWCA ad):

How do I link the pictures in the attached file to different websites. Example, when image 1 appears, I want users to be able to click on it to take them to story 1. Then when picture 2 appears, users can click on it to go to story 2, etc.

I have converted a large background image (much larger than the stage) into a Movie Clip. I did this so I can make it scroll as the player traverses to the edge of the scene.This appears to make the player free to roam the entire background image.I have a tree symbol with a class attached to it that blocks player movement.Here is my problem:
When I drag and drop instances of the tree symbol onto the background, the trees are stationary and do not scroll with the background.I do not want to have to implement code to make the trees scroll when the background does.I was wondering if there was a way to simply attach the trees to the background so that if the background moves, the trees move with it and appear to be part of the background as if they were drawn into it.It is convenient for me to be able to drag and drop as many trees as i need to block certain routes on the background from the player.I tried writing code to make the trees move but it was only working for the very last tree that I added to the scene.
