How do I link the pictures in the attached file to different websites. Example, when image 1 appears, I want users to be able to click on it to take them to story 1. Then when picture 2 appears, users can click on it to go to story 2, etc.

I have a website [URL] that you can but banner advertizing on it. The banners have to be a jpg or swf file and have to be a certain size. I have no trouble with PS. Everytime you refresh the screen or go to another page a new add appears. What I'm wondering if I can take several pictures and make them into swf file. What I'm trying to accomplish is a rotating banner so you don't have to refresh to see the new ads.

View 5 RepliesUsing AS3, how can I attach links to outbound websites? I have a button graphic dragged onto the timeline. It is meant to function much like a "hot spot". So, I would like to attach the script to the button so that it will link to another website when clicked upon. But where do I add the script in AS3, and what is that script to be? ~ For example, do I need to go into edit mode where I see the 4 states, or can I simply attach it to the main timeline? - I'm looking to do whatever's the simplest!
Also, the button is called myButton in my library...can I use that same button for everywhere I want to add an outbound link to different websites, or am I going to have to change the name for every different link? For example, myButton02, myButton03? I'm hoping to use the same graphic button, and hoping the timeline will understand and follow the script instead of being confused and all links wind up going to the same site.

I am building a website in flash and was wondering if it is possible to change the background size for each page of a website that I build in Flash?I know how to change the template background etc. but I changed the background size to a bigger size on page 3 and now the whole site is like that.
View 2 RepliesI am very new to flash ads and we are on a new platform after a website redesign. I'm having trouble with flash display settings I'm guessing since the ad displays fine in IE, but not fine in Firefox and Chrome. Images to follow (for the curious it is a YWCA ad):

I have created a Flash banner ad for our company that is to be hosted on another website. This banner ad needs to have a link added to it, within the Flash file. This link will take users straight to our website but is also for the purpose of tracking.How do I go about adding the URL? I have searched through these forums but cannot get it to work.I am using Flash CS4 (selected to use AS 3 when I first created the file.)
From what I have read and understood, I should create a new layer, and then add the code to the first frame on that layer?Exactly what code should I use? I tried something as simple as 'getURL("http://www.celonova.com","_self"); ' but that is not working. Is it bcos that is for AS 2 only? My last question is...can I set up the link so that it works for ALL frames?

View 2 RepliesI have purchased an image gallery program that works fine but I am struggling to make a very minor modification. I have asked the author for assistance but previous requests have met with no response so I am also asking my question here. This program has most of its logic in an external AS2 file. I have made some small changes to this file and want to save it under a new name. However, that would also require me to change the reference to the external AS2 file from within the fla file. That's where my problem lies. I can't find any code in the fla that contains such a reference.
If I try to publish an swf without this file in the required location it causes a compiler error thus proving that there must be a reference somewhere to that file. However, doing a search for this AS2 file in the 'current document' when viewing the fla file in Flash CS4 produces no results. Where else could this reference be hidden?
Trying to set up a getURL to link to a local htm file, NOT a page on the internet. All the tutorials I have read tell me how to link to a file on the internet I'm trying to set up an intranet site for my training college where students can access training resources etc on the local network. Therefore my getURL needs to point to a local file, not one on the internet. I'm trying to link to a .htm file that resides on my computer. Does the htm file have to be in the same folder as the .fla file?? How do I do this?? I'm working on a Mac, Os X, MX 2004, if that makes any difference.

I have created a small application which takes it's information from an xml file and displayes it in a news ticker which is a flash Flash AS2 application. tell me the correct way to format the link tag in the xml if there is a standard when wanting to state a target for the link? The xml file currently looks like:

So what I want to do is to be able to open the link in a taget=_blank window however adding that to the end of the url does not currently work.I have added a comma and also tried using a space, space and encompassing in quotes but none are working.
I'm having two problems. First of all, the gallery loads all pictures at once. The more pictures in the XML file, the slower they all load. Secondly, I wanted the pictures to scroll in its _y coordinate, similar to Sugar Rhyme's website portfolio (see url]...).

View 2 RepliesI am in CS5 on an iMac. I am a beginner at Flash and trying to learn how to do specific tasks asked of me by my supervisor just by using the Adobe forums. This is what they want me to do: Show am image of a postcard that we sell, then have it morph into a poster (much larger) with a customizable area highlighted. I have learned how to put the postcard image on the stage and motion tween it to a larger version of itself, but I need that larger version to actually be a different image. Is there a way I can do this in CS5?
View 7 RepliesI have a button with a sound attached to it. The button should play the sound when the mouse is in its down state. When I play the sound in the .swf file the sound plays but it's cut off at the end (maybe the last 3 seconds). I'm using mp3 files for the sound. This is happening with many of the buttons in the program. It's a simple operation within the program. The user clicks a button and voice-over is supposed to play.

I have a basic XML file that is going to load 9 images into flash, img1, img2, img3, ect... All the images are different width's and height's. I'm having trouble aligning the center of the images to each other, or aligning the center of images to a certain spot on the stage. Right now the top left is aligning.

View 5 RepliesI want to basiclly create a spot the differance game but instead of the user being able to just click on side of the pictures to get the answer, i want them to click on one picture and than the other picture to get the answer. So basiclly they have to click on the picture on the left and than on the right to mark something as a answer which would link both pictures. Or another example, is linking two tables. If i had two tables up and the objective was for the user to link one line of the table to another on the other table, it would link and draw a link from one side to the other showing the link.
