Professional :: Change The Ratio Of Website So It Goes As Large As Possible On Screen?
Apr 23, 2010
How do change the ratio of my website so that, no matter how big someone's screen is, it will go as large as possible without messing up the ratio? I want a 4:3 ratio, by the way.

[ X ] Problem solved I just came up with something i have some trouble to handle I've tried a couple of solution but none seems to work perfectly
What I'm trying to do is simple, get my flash to go full screen, but whatever resolution the user has, my flash must centers itself with the biggest proportion possible, and two movie clips goes right and left of it, as if they were borders.
I've been able to do this with a simple png, but i was not able with a movieclip where his dimension changes through time. ( i have a tween, so the mc gets really big even though just my stage is displayed)

I have developed a couple of websites before in Flash, the problem is, the resolution of the site is good on my platform. i.e. 1024 x 800. However, when I get to view the site in 1366 x 788 the whole site looks sad. Badly oriented and sometimes I have to scroll through my page up and down - you know what I mean.
how to solve the problem so that my site looks good, centre oriented, doesn't matter at which resolution the user is viewing it.

I have set my stage at 1920 x 1440 with a background bitmap that matches that size. The aspect ratio of my stage/bitmap is 4:3. When I run my Flash website on a legacy 4:3 monitor set at 1024x768, the top and bottom portions of the stage image are truncated. The remaining part of the displayed picture has an exact aspect ratio of 16:9.

I am trying to emulate an effect like this site uses...
[URL]
and I've basically poached their script, a jQuery initiated 100% width and height background that loads into a couple of holding containers.
The thing I would like to do differently is fix the background in place so the content can scroll over it. How can I, say, write the flash movie to the BODY background or something like that? I'm not a javascript wiz and am not sure how I might do this.

With the aid of Dreamweaver CS4 I've manged to create a temp 'under construction website'. This website has a fullscreen .swf looping in the background.
I have made 4 of these very short looping .swf files.Is it possible, by adding one simple button on the screen, for the user click and the next .swf background starts playing? So basically this button acts a 'next' button, and each times it's clicked the next .swf starts to play.
[URL]
Ps: check out the source code. The flash background code starts from '<!-- flash background -->'.

I'm trying to make my movie look good on all screen resolutions and when the browser is resized. I want to center my movie, and have it stay in the center when resizing the browser, and I can do this to an extent. I usually use the liquid center template in Dreamweaver, like so - [URL]. However, this time I want a big movie to stay in the center like this - [URL], I've ended up with this - [URL].

Has anyone had this issue before, say I have a movieclip called options, and want it to always stay down in bottom right corner, simple, in the resize event just update the sreen size available and reset the x and y of options accordinging, with whatever offsets needed. BUT... this is getting thrown off on very large monitors, anything over 27in, sometimes the same code works, sometimes it doesn't

I have a flash application that utilizes a lot of popup title windows that do not have parent containers. I'm having a problem when users with smaller resolutions try to use my application because the popup utility windows will often be too large. Note that I do not want to re-size the window as that would eliminate a lot of it's clarity and separation of menu bars and tool icons. I just want my application to detect if the window has a height or width property greater than that of the browser's view frame and then activate the respective scroll bar should it be needed.

I've been following the book "Beggining Flash Programing for Dummies" and I have come up to a part where I create a very simple game.
The script involved in the frames are FRAME here:
stop();
btnGoThere.onRelease = function(){ _root.gotoAndStop("there");
} //end event handler
Frame there
btnGoHere.onRelease = function(){ _root.gotoAndStop("here");} // end release
When I test the movie and click the button, the frames don't seem to change.

I'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.

I have tried putting fs command for full screen for my Flash site, but that only works if I open the SWF on its own.
If I try opening the Flash website thru my browser, a warning pops up that Flash is trying to comunicate with the browser.
I would like it when a person goes to the website, that the website will automatially open up as a full screen website. No tool bars, address, navigation etc., like a DVD movie. Just the whole screen covered by my Flash site and it does not rescale. The Flash site is the same size as if there is no full screen.

I have finally finished my website. It works great, except the website is placed far on the left side of the screen. I would like my website to be placed in death center, kind of floating in the center and stay the same size regardless of how viewer adjusts the window size.I am trying to change alignment in PUBLISH SETTINGS (html alignment) but there is no "center" option. Only right, left, top, bottom. Here is the link to my posted .html: [URL]

I have recently followed a tutorial on how to create a simple loading screen, on completion of this i realised it was teaching me how to create a loading screen for a flash movie. How I would change my Action script so at the end of the movie it would display my website?
My current action script is as follows..
First frame:
Code:
bytes_loaded = Math.round(this.getBytesLoaded());
bytes_total = Math.round(this.getBytesTotal());
getPercent = bytes_loaded/bytes_total;
this.loadBar._width = getPercent*100;
this.loadText = Math.round(getPercent*100)+"%";
if (bytes_loaded == bytes_total) {
this.gotoAndPlay(3);
}
Second frame:
Code:
this.gotoAndPlay(1);

Does anybody know a way for a swf file to communicate with the site its placed in. What I mean is I have a flash file with a start up screen in it, which has a tick box saying "Don't show this screen again" which skips to the sites content when tick, the same as what some adobe applications have when first started up. I think this might be able to be done using sharedObjects? But what I can't do is re-activate the start up screen from outside of the flash file. Is sharedObjects the way to go?
