View 1 RepliesDoes anyone know of a site / tutorial / reference that shows how to do the coverflow image gallery using Flashvars without XML? I want to create something like this[url]...
..but everything I've found uses an XML file to feed in the variable and parameter information. I need to feed this info in using flashvars and javascript from the html file only. I've tried modifying the ones using XML on my own but it gets to be too confusing on how to change everything when so much information--usually all the variables AND animation effect parameters--are being called from the XML.
I am developing an ios app, and it is a simple platformer game. I have a 2dimensional sprite that sits in the center of the stage, and never moves.. When the accelorometer is tilted, the stage moves around the main Character, but only horizontally.. How can I get the accelorometer to simply flip the main characters image, so that he faces where he appears to be heading? Again, this game is for the iPhone/iPod platform, so anybody with knolege of coding is greatly needed to explain this to me. This is a simple code I used for moving the stage around the Character

I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I might break it into AS files but it depends.
I have a dynamic image gallery that pulls the pics into a movie clip and adds them to the container (slider) The issue i am having is that when i click on this i am essentially clicking on all the items collectively and i would like to be able to click on each image seperately...

I'm looking for a tutorial which explains me how to create a simple AS3 image gallery driven by an XML file.
The gallery I need is really simple: an horizontal bar placed on the bottom containing the thumbnails which scrolls left and right according to the mouse pointer clicking on a thumbnail the full image must be shown above the thumbnails' bar buttons for prev and next image clicking on the button which opens the gallery I must be able to pass a variable to make the gallery load the proper xml file (I've got 6 different categories to show)
I have downloaded an image gallery. The Fla file contains only one layer (That is background) nothing except that. The class is exported. When I try to put some Header text on the background layer, it goes behind the images not on TOP of the images. How to resolve the problem? I want my Header text to be on top of the images.
View 2 Replies[URL].. looking to build a gallery like that with fade transitions and next/previous buttons. that particular one is using an XML file for the photos. Any ideas or tutorials?
The one they are using is from a $30 program but I would like to see if there is a way to do it without paying for a program.
Any link or flash file which explain how to apply mouse move effect on images of gallery. I mean image sof gallery simply move with mouse direction and stop on mouse stop.
View 1 Repliesi am loading all thumbs and images in a container on a single frame using action script..but the size of the swf becomes 1.2 mb so i want to add a loader to it...the loader i am trying to add counts the frames but my file has just one frame so the loader doesnot show up..
here is the script of my gallery..and the timeline has just one frame...
import mx.transitions.Tween;import mx.transitions.easing.*;
this.createEmptyMovieClip("container",1);var imagesNumber:Number = 18;var scrolling:Boolean = true;
for (i=1; i<=imagesNumber; i++) {container.attachMovie("thumb"+i,"thumb"+i+"_mc",i);myThumb_mc = container["thumb"+i+"_mc"];if (i==1){ myThumb_mc._x = (0.0)*myThumb_mc._width;

I'm new to flex/flash cs5, but am an experienced coder, and am trying to help a friend get a site built quickly so they can graduate. They would like their image gallery that displays their portfolio to have:thumbnails floating around slowly and bouncing off of one another - mouse hover would freeze and then resume animation after the mouse leaves - when clicked the thumbnail would grow to the full size image and be displayed in the same window as the floating objects Something similar to whats found at: Flash and Picasa gallery with those other features would be perfect, but without the Google RSS aspect of it. Might anyone know where I could be pointed in the right direction for accomplishing this? Or possibly could be given technical names for the effects I'm trying to implement so I can look them up easier? Perhaps even a link to download something with the floating/bouncing element for the thumbnails, then I could figure out the code for the other effects needed.
View 1 RepliesI need a simple image gallery to load when you click a button. I've tried shadowbox but have had absolutely zero luck. I'm not sure how to load it from a flash file and I know there is work that has to be done outside of flash like in the root folder. All I need is for a simple image gallery, nothing fancy, to open when I hit a button. how to use shadowbox in lamens terms or knows how to easily script a gallery that would be amazing.
View 2 RepliesI am currently building a website entirely in Flash, and I am fearing that it is becoming too large because I am having it all load on startup. Is there a way for me to have the file load to say, frame 10, and stop loading, then when a button is clicked to bring you to a new frame that has not been loaded, load the necessary frames? (I would also like to have a preloader for each time a button is clicked that takes you to frames that haven't been loaded yet.)
A specific example would be a photo gallery I want to incorporate into the site. When the user presses a button to view the photo gallery, I want a frame with a gallery of thumbnails to load that has not been previously loaded, and then when each thumbnail is clicked, the frame with the large picture in it should be loaded.
Way to build a multi-gallery using XML.Just tell me how to structure the XML file, and the proper approach of accessing and loading in the images of each separate set of images.
View 0 RepliesI am trying to build a gallery where the thumbnail loads and then you hit the thumbnail and it opens the image full size. I don't want to have it resize.

study about multiple 3d flip based on[URL]..i don't have any errors for now but my problem is this. the top & the bottom movie clip rotates different from the middle, i look for the solution and i found about Flash CS4 - Vanishing Point, my vanishing point is on the center, but when i change my vanishing point to top, my middle movie clip change its rotation.
View 3 RepliesI see a bunch of Coverflow clones done in flash but I was wondering if there was a simple method to rotating a flat image in flash but to still give it the effect of depth like the images that seem to be on an angle. I imagine you have to use bitmapdata but im not even sure where to start. flipping it on the _xscale just isn't going to cut it.

I would like to know how to do the image flip effect featured on this site:[URL] Things I noticed: the images fade to white a little between flips. The flips are contained within a clear but drop-shadowed rectangular container. The images have a very flexible quality to them, bending kind of like a sheet in the wind. The flipping isnt prompted by anything, it just plays in a loop and the images are randomized.I decompiled the flash but was not able to find anything of use; the flipping images just appear as blue boxes in my window. I suspect these flipping images are really individual flash pieces embedded into the main flash doc?
View 1 Repliesll need to turn the cards to reveal the other side.Is there a way to make this using actionscript?
View 5 RepliesTo flip an image around the center i am using this piece of code:
// Calculate offset
var offsetWidth:Number = image.contentWidth/2.0;
var offsetHeight:Number = image.contentHeight/2.0;

It's like poker. I'll need to turn the cards to reveal the other side. Is there a way to make this using actionscript? Remember that in one side there is a vector drawing!
View 5 RepliesI am trying to build an xml photo gallery in flash that will use lightbox for viewing large images. I have successfully built the thumbnail portion.My goal is to insert the swf into an HTML page and launch lightbox from the swf. Here is the code: First I use a Thumbnails class which imports the tweener class
Code:
package {
import flash.display.Sprite;
import fl.containers.UILoader;[code]....
how do I get lightbox to work when I click on the thumbnails? I found this thing called lightboxinjector that seems like it would work, but I am not advanced enough to understand the directions it gives for dynamic use. Or is there a lightbox clone that will work for this?
I know I can horizontally flip an image using ActionScript Code: image.scaleX *= 1;
However, this seems to move the left border of the image past its x coordinate.
I would like to make sure that the image stays within the same borders as before and that (x,y) is still the top left corner. Short of wrapping it in another image, is there a way to do that?
does anyone know of a tutorial the will give a similar effect to what can be seen at http:[url]....the only thing is i dont want the page flip to look like it is a book but for it to look like a flip chart gettin pages removed.it also needs to display small video clips as well as images. would the last part be possible.the files do not have to passed from an xml file or streamed from the server this will only ever be played locally from a laptop.
