I have an externally loaded SWF, which contains 30+ layers, each with a rather large area of transparency. In my application, I dynamically turn on and off these layers, as I needI've run into an issue where if I have all 30+ layers visible, the transparency "cuts through" the background of my application, and shows the stage's default colour.
View 2 RepliesI have a flash file with a solid colour layer over a part of my visual that I have sent to 60% opacity using the alpha colour effect. All looks great in flash, but when I publish the file as a swf - the colour block is solid. I'm assuming I'm using the wrong export options, but don't really know the difference between them all. I'm publishing under flash lite 4 as I was told I needed to use this to make my movie compatible over mobile devices as well and normal web browers.

When I put images with the appropriately desinated colors in flash, it changes the color ever so slightly when it runs in the page. It's JUST enough for it to be noticable. Is it possible to designate a transparent background?
View 2 RepliesOn the stage I have a movieclip with an animation inside it, at the moment I've given to its background the same color of the stage to simulate a transparence.Now I've added some decorations to the bottom left corner of the stage and this movieclip lays a bit over the decoration showing that in truth the movieclip is not transparent because it covers part of the decoration.Is there a way to make the movieclip background really transparent?I've checked where I apply colors to elements, but there is not a "transparent" option, or at least I havent seen it.

My goal is to get the animated character on top of all my sony vegas layers, but the stage is blocking all the other layers. I have a SWF file in my Dreamweaver site, that plays correctly. The problem is that the stage is white and we would like it to be transparent. Searching the archives the following advice was given:
in your html embedding code you need to set the wmode parameter to be "transparent" I'm wondering if this is the code in Dreamweaver or is this done in Flash. I'm working with CS5. Below is the code that matches the SWF file in Dreamweaver. I did change the wmode value from "opaque" to "transparent" and it didn't work.

I imported a video into flash and have a transparent photoshop layer to create an iPod skin. The video works fine, but I cannot get the "stage" to be transparent so that you do not see the flash background color behind the iPod skin.

View 3 RepliesI have an older flash application, it uses actionscript 2. Its logic is heavily tied to the frame rate (using onEnterFrame lots of times). I need to accelerate its calculations.
The maxmimum frame rate Flash Professional lets me specify for it is 120. Is there any way to make this higher? I don't necessarily have to change the fla or the swf, being able to play it faster locally would be sufficient, if the flash player can be tweaked to accomplish that.

View 1 Repliesi'm trying to make a website in a number of buttons and layers. In one section i need to have an if statement on the buttons as where in the timeline they go is dependant on where the user is (this location is set in a variable called "destination".
The problem is that when i have = in the if statement it bypasses the first section and only does the else action (ie trace ("else")), and if i put == in the statement it only does the first action (ie trace ("gallery")) no matter what "destination" is.

I'm wanting to create a moving object that will be exported into a tv commercial. Object has already been created in Adobe Illustrator, and now will be dropped into flash for adding movement. The destination commercial will be created in Sony Vegas, with the settings of (Australian) PAL television (25 fps, 576x720 pixels, lower field first).Thus keeping it simple, I want to set Adobe flash with the same output format, meaning that the canvas will have to be 576x720 pixels at 25 fps. So far this seems to have worked okay.Now I'm wanting to get rid of the canvas colour, just like I have here in this photoshop screen shot.
Judging by the colour palette in Flash Professional, it looks like it can't be done. I've checked "transparent palette" through yahoo and google, and had no results. The adobe documentation only details how to remove a background in Photoshop.

The main body of the banner--which includes hyperlinks--and the background of the entire banner must change as the user mouses over the four areas. See the diagrams at the following link (it is not working properly):I attempted to complete this task as follows, but it really isn't behaving properly. I created a layer of buttons and text, and set the alpha levels to 0 for the "over" state of each button. I then created four separate layers containing the appropriate content. When the user mouses over a button on the left, the proper layer would be displayed. I planned to use Actionscript to accomplish this; pseudocode here:

I have two flash files, the one Im editing and the original. I want to copy two perfect layers from the original and past them on the one im editing, but each time I copy, it only copies the image, cant copy the entire layer with the animation.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a type of news flash file with four panels, each with a different coloured background and diferent text (from xml file). Each panel will show for say 4 seconds. My flash file has four layers, each with a different coloured background, and following each other on timeline to create one movie. The actionscript is stopping at the end of the 1st layer on the timeline, so only the first panel is showing text from the xml file, but not the other three.
