I have a presentation that I'm trying to create and export to a projector file. My problem is that I have gone beyond the allowed 16000 frames so the presentation stops in the middle and loops back to the beginning.
View 15 RepliesI have an older flash application, it uses actionscript 2. Its logic is heavily tied to the frame rate (using onEnterFrame lots of times). I need to accelerate its calculations.
The maxmimum frame rate Flash Professional lets me specify for it is 120. Is there any way to make this higher? I don't necessarily have to change the fla or the swf, being able to play it faster locally would be sufficient, if the flash player can be tweaked to accomplish that.

I'm wondering if there is a limit as to how may if else you can put in a function. I have a form that never seems to fire the last if else on the first load. It will work once I've run through the form, and all of the times after that, but never on the first try. In other words, when I test the form for the first time, if # 5 never kicks in. But after the form has sent, I can run the form again and if # 5 will work like I want it to. I did add .tabIndex to the form because it wouldn't originally tab the way I wanted it to and I wondered if this might be part of the problem. I also tried moving the if else statements around, but that didn't seem to make any difference. Does it only read 4 if's at a time?

View 6 RepliesI am still running Flash MX (04). Because I find flash a little more useable than other progs, I am using it to create a presentation. I am creating a project that I intend to only use as a standalone SWF (not uploadable to a site or anything). I intend to play the SWF full screen on a laptop and output to an LCD projector as a presentation. I have the stage set at 1024 x 768 and am using movie clips imported/embedded (which arent the full 1024x768 but slightly smaller ), text, photo's and audio. I am nearly 2/3rds the way through and the SWF file size is growing (currently at 16 meg). I expect it to be in the region of 90 meg + or so as some audio yet to be loaded and still photos are quite size heavy. Is there any way i can get the audio to sound a little clear as when the SWF is published the sound seems to lose a little quality in the compression. Also, what is the maximum size you would recommend a standalone SWF in this scenario should/could be?

I understand that I somehow need to make use of fscommand in ActionScript, but I'm not sure how I can get Flash and PowerPoint to communicate between themselves.
I'm using Flash MX 2004 7.0 and Powerpoint 2003.
I am looking to create a 2-3 minute presentation which will contain several distinct animations that need to be in sync with a voiceover. The presentation will run from start to finish without any user interaction. I can see a few different ways forward -- trying to do everything on the main timeline, using scenes, creating movies clips and controlling their starting and stopping on the main timeline through ActionScript, etc.

I am working on a website where video quality is very important and the client is delivering me the video already compressed. I then want to import it to flash CS3 and export it as .flv for progressive download with the media playback component. I have done all of this successfully in a sense that it all works but the video quality is not good enough, it's good but the client says it;s a bit grainy. I used the highest setting in Flash, on2 vp6 at 700kbs.
My question is what is the best file format (.mov etc) and what settings should the client use, so I can create the highest quality .flv export from their .mov file? Second question, I used an 8 second buffer but now the client is saying they don't want it to buffer at all. What are the other options besides progressive download, I have never delved into this before?
Pardon my most likely newbie mistakes.I imported a FLV file I created in After Effects into Flash CS4, using the wizard. I choose the correct file path and no skin.Then using the FLV playback components I made a custom play/pause button.When I test the movie it works beautifully.Not when I export (I have tried quicktime movie and SWF). I think I only get one frame (the first frame is empty, so not 100% sure).I have never worked with Flash, is there something I need to do in the timeline, like setting an in and out point or something?

View 10 RepliesI have been asked to compress a commercial for a client for web. The spot is 300x250 at 10 seconds and I am exporting an flv out of After Effects. I have taken the bit rate down as low as possible and can only get it down to about 872kb. Is there any solution to lowering it down to the required 40k file size.
Also, for delivery would i just need to send the swf and html or does the flv need to go
im using Flash CS4 slide presentation to make a education CD. In the end of the slides i want to open a pdf file.How can i do it? Is it a east way to do it? I publish the project as a projector file. I tested to use GetURL but the file wont open. I have the pdf-filein the same folder as the projector exe-file.

View 3 RepliesI could succesfully open a external pdf with the following command in Flash cs3 on a Mac: fscommand("exec", "test.app");test.app (inside an fscommand folder) is an apple script that opens the pdf inside the fscommand folder, to make it work I needed to copy the fscommand folder into the MacOs Folder of the Mac Projector File. The same steps don't seem to work with Flash cs5. I can't downgrade my cs5 project to cs3.Is this problem a bug in Flash cs5?
View 9 RepliesI've built a presentation that requires the need to open pdf files in Acrobat Reader... as I have been building this on a Mac I simply used the geturl code which has been working a treat... today when I tested it on a PC it opened the file in a browser window!
I'm not really a coder and have to rely on finding bits online that I can tweak... after many hours I have fixed the pdf opening problem by using the fscommand method, but unfortunately when the pdf file is closed, my presentation (that was running fullscreen) has minimised itself to a window 100% to the original stage size!
I am producing a fullscreen projector (.exe) file and have some large videos that cause the background to go black when they come on the stage. When I test the movie (not in fullscreen), it works just fine.

I'm trying to export a .mov from a .fla file. Strange thing is happening. When I export the .mov, there are small sections of the vector animation that are missing or not showing up like missing puzzle pieces. I can't find anything about this. I've tried many different settings and they yield similar results.

View 3 RepliesI have a sound file in my library that plays perfectly in the library - a song with jingle bell accompaniment.When the animation is saved as a swf file, the song is there, but the jingle bell accompaniment isn't.When I extract the audio track from the flash file with AVS software,the jingle bell accompaniment is missing.
Background:I do not have the original recording that I imported to my Flash project.Even when I did have it, the jingle bell percussion was missing. I don't knowt how to get the sound file out of the library to save it individually (in case re-importing it would solve the problem)I don't know how to make the sound file play when I'm working on the file. want to know if it is possible to create a vector basedfile (PDF) from a web based Flash application. The applicationwould be a 'Design it yourself' type deal, it would just be a fancytext generator. All this will be designed by the user using theflash application . What I want to know is once the user has finished designingtheir text, can this 'creation' then be exported as preferably aPDF, or Jpg, etc. once the user submits the design?
