I am making several movie clips that are linked to scroll panes.All of the content is text.I have one movie clip that is a bit longer than the others and if I test the movie a good deal of the text is CUT OFF.This ony happens with the long text movie clip. Is there somewhere I can change the lenght parameters?

Based on my experience with other components and with loading content into movie clips, I expected that I would point my scroll pane to its content and be off and running, but that hasn't happened.

I'm in desperate need of some help here. I've been working on a website for months and I'm so near the end, but I just need to rectify one problem (and judging by my google searches for the past two days, it seems to be quite a common problem). I'm pretty much a novice/beginner when it comes to actionscript and need some help to figure this out.I have a movie clip (called 'CLvertlist_mc') which is simply some text and buttons. This movie clip has been placed inside a scrollpane, which sits inside another movie clip ('Client list 2'). Also sitting inside 'Client list 2' is a third movie clip called 'clientlist_mc', which has a few different labelled frames in it.Now, I want to get the buttons in 'CLvertlist_mc' to link to the labelled frames in 'clientlist_mc'. At the moment I've put an actions layer in 'Client list 2' with the following actionscript:[code]'clb_cch' is the instance name of one of the buttons in 'CLvertlist_mc', and 'SM' is one of the frame labels in 'clientlist_mc'. I created a movie clip which plays ok. But when it ends there is a slight jump, if you will, when it goes back to frame 1 to begin playing again. Does anyone know how to make the transition unnoticeable from the last frame of a movie clip to the first frame of a movie clip?
View 4 RepliesCS3 Flash - Complete newbie to Flash and I'm trying to change an existing flash piece.It consists of 4 different text statements that appear on a Black background - the first appears and stays on-screen for 10 secs, then it starts to blur and fade away in about a sec, and then the next statement appears, etc, etc., and the whole lot loops.The 4 statements appear as Video Clips (Symbols?) in the library.I need to add a new statement, which means there will be 5 statements. I duplicated one of the library items and renamed it, which seems to have worked fine... but I cannot then work out how I insert that video clip into the Timeline and still have the same visual effects and timing as the existing ones? I can insert a blank frame, but then I can only drop the new video clip text onto that one frame.I've tried copying and pasting a whole set of frames, and then go in and change the text. Which I thought had worked, but then discovered that it also changed the original frames.... now understand that's because they are just instances and any change will affect the master Video Clip!
So can anyone advise if I can insert my newly added and renamed video clip into the timeframe and create the same effect as the others?Please keep any advice as idiot-proof as possible as this is my first venture into Flash... not finding it as intuitive as I hoped, spent 6hrs to date just trying trial and error without any real success.
I am making a web site in flash in which I have multiple movie clips.I have mc_buttonMenu on the main timeline.Inside of mc_buttonMenu, I have 3 buttons that are all button symbols.From the main timeline, I have a movie clip called mc_allPages.In this movie clip, I have a few layers.I have the content layer.This layer controls how my pages display.I have another layer called labels.I labeled frames 1 to 10 as 'home' and layers 11 to 20 as 'contactUs'.I have another layer in mc_allPages called actions.I put a stop(); on frame 10 and frame 20 on this layer.I want to be able to control the movie clip mc_allPages from within the movie clip mc_buttonMenu.I put some action script in various places, but it never worked.I tried this action script:

I tried placing that code on the main timeline, inside mc_allPages, inside mc_buttonMenu and split up into both buttons appropriately for btn_home and btn_contactUs.Sometimes the animation would stop on frame 10 and sometimes it would just play through to frame 20 and ignore the stop(); I put on frame 10 inside the mc_allPages movie clip.However, whenever I pressed the button ( btn_contactUs ), it never went to the frame labeled "contactUs" in the allPages movie clip.
I'm making a room escape game and I've run into a problem. When an item gets added to the inventory, I'd like the user to be able to click on the item to affect another object (e.g. clicking screwdriver hides screws and displays other image) however when I add the code to the item, if the item is clicked and it's nowhere near the object it affects, the image pops up and it looks really stupid.
So what I'd like to be able to do, possibly using if and else statements or whatever's easiest, is to only have the inventory item be clickable if the movie clip of the object is affects is visible on the stage.

Second problem, in testing.fla in layer OKSID, i have mcOksid and mcOksid2. Know if i change color of mcOksid to blue, mcOksid2 has to be blue too.
I'm trying to create a movie clip on my my main timeline that has a movie clip button within it that pops up a box in the middle of the site that contains text and links. On Frame 1 I have the Up state, frame 2 the roll over state, and frame 3 my Down State (where Box appears).

I have a looping movie clip and want it to speed up when the mouse rolls over one of the ends. Is there and action script that will do this? Or a different way to get it done? I faked it by making two movies with different number of frames but when you load that movie it starts over and it looks stupid. As you can see, I use onEnterFrame to listen and check matching between time on clock and schedule but it will check all the time and when it alarmed it produced sound all the time while the time is matched. I would like my flash to alarm only one or few times.

I want to have my character walk around in a faux 3-d space using the arrow keys on the keyboard. When the character walks away it becomes smaller and when it walks closer it becomes larger. I have put together a script that pretty much does what I want - except the ratio of the height and width of the MovieClip do not stay the same. It becomes fatter as it walks away and skinner as it comes closer. Here is my main script:

I think the problem is with the operator here: ratio = this._height/this._width; The slash between "height" and "this" seems to be what is giving me trouble. Maybe I should be writing some other script entirely? I am not very good at script writing.

I am about to go crazy trying to change the property of a movie clip. Could someone tell me why this doesn't work:

-movieheight is a variable in the movie which has been loaded into level1. -project is a movie clip (I made sure I named it properly). -mytext is a text box in the main timeline of the movie in level1. (I set the variable to mytext for this box too). I have tried to use eval("_root._level1.project.height"), but nothing works - the movie's height never shows up in the text box. Debug > List Variables tells me that movieheight is "undefined".
