Professional :: Separate The String And Push The Different Variables Into Their Appropriate Arrays?

Mar 8, 2012

I have a string variable that looks something like this:

2012-03-07 135.06 135.91 134.93 135.69 143616800 135.69
2012-03-06 135.35 135.43 134.36 134.75 202129900 134.75

It continues like this, a list of reoccurring variables seperated by spaces, for a few more lines.How can I separate the string and push the different variables into their appropriate arrays. The end result should look like this:

dates = [2012-03-07, 2012-03-06]
variable1 = [135.06, 135.35]
variable2 = [135.91, 135.43]

ActionScript :: Push To Multidimensional Arrays And Later Retrieve Just One 'row'?

Jan 20, 2010

I am reading a set of latitude & Longitude Coordinates that define a polygone area. They are keyed to an area ID and I retrieve them from a SQL database. So for example, Area ID 153 might have 20 coordinates and area ID 77 might have 11 coordinates. I wish to save these in a 2-D array indexed by the area ID, and where each coordinate pair is combined into one Google LatLng object. At a later point I wish to retrieve just one row i.e. the set of coordinates for one area, and send them to a function that accepts an array of coordinates and draws the polygon on a map. Here's what I have:

private var coordsFromSql:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection();
var polyArray:Array = new Array();
for each(var item:COORDINATES in coordsFromSql)

Flash :: Obtain And Push JSON Data Into Arrays?

Sep 13, 2010

so I have a JSON link that contains a couple of nodes (not sure what you call them in JSON) that I need to put into arrays in ActionScript, but I'm still having trouble trying to trace out all the specific node content.I found a similar question here, but the fix just showed how to trace out the entire JSON file (which shows up in my output window as [object Object],[object Object],[object Object],...)first node: {"captions":[{"content":"[hello world] ","startTime":0,"duration":4000}

My code:

private function onCaptionsComplete( event:Event ):void
{
//var jsonObj:Object = JSON.decode(event.target.data);[code].....

captions: undefined

TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.What I would like to be able to do is put the content data into the captionsContent Array, and the startingTime into a startingTime Array, same with the duration data.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Pushing Variables To Arrays Within Arrays?

Jun 25, 2004

correct syntax for pushing variables to arrays within arrays? I have searched many threads but found nothing that exactly answers my query.I have a class (Brigade) which amongst other variables contains an array (BrigadeUnits) This is the third element.. My Brigades are stored in an array called AllBrigades. I now need to fill the BrigadeUnits array with objects of my Units class.The hierarchy I want to create is as follows:

AllBrigades (array of Brigades)
Brigade (object)
BrigadeUnits (array within Brigade object)
Unit (Object to be stored in BrigadeUnits array)

I have tried various approaches including the following, assuming that I am addressing the first Brigade in the array:

AllBrigades [0] [2].push (MyUnit);

But when I trace this I just get undefined.

Loading Several MovieClips Into Separate Variables?

My movieclips can all be called something simple like mc1, mc2, mc3, mc4 etc to make things easier.These need to be referenced in to an array mcContainer[.....] or as mcContainer1, mcContainer2........ so that they can be called easily.I just need to know the simplest way to do this and how i reference them, I have tried several ways like ["mc"+i] etc and nothing seems to work.

Code:

var mc:mcLogo=new mcLogo();

ActionScript 3.0 :: Scope Within Package - Trace Always Shows A Blank Array Before Push And An Array With One Object In It After The Push

Nov 12, 2009

I have a class in which I have declared an array. The functions in that class are designed to make changes to the array, but it's not working:

[Code]...

Anything I do to customerCheck treats it as if it were a new array. This is especially obvious when using customerCheck.push in addCharToCheck() -- the trace always shows a blank array before push and an array with one object in it after the push... then next time it does the same. I know I'm making some sort of fundamental error regarding the scope of the array within the class but I just cannot find any good information on how to fix it! Moving to AS3 (been coding it for all of about 3 weeks) is a nightmare so far, and it seems to be the 'easy' stuff that causes me problems

I want to make a little app, .swf, that has a bunch of buttons on them - each button corresponds to a string of text...

So let's say, the buttons are marked as "Rd" "St" "Ln" etc...

When they click on the button, I want it to add that listing to the dynamic field box so it will look something like this

*User clicks on Rd button and "ROAD" pops up in the dynamic text box - User then clicks the "Ln" buttons, and then the dynamic text box changes to "ROAD/LANE"

User decides they don't want to use road, so they click on "Rd" button again, and the dynamic box reads "LANE" - user then wants to add "st" so they click on the corresponding button and now the text field reads "LANE//ROAD"

ActionScript 2.0 :: Problems With Arrays And Variables

Nov 14, 2006

Hello all,

I am having some weirdness with arrays and variables. I'm sure this is something basic but I can't get it to work. I have a an MC name "circle" this also contains dynamic text field name nameMC. Writing to that textfield is simply circle.nameMC.text = "New copy";

So below I have two arrays.

Code:
var textArray:Array = [one, two, three];
var newArray:Array = ["one", "two", "three"];
for (var i:String in newArray) {
this.attachMovie("circle", newArray[i], this.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:Math.random()*300, _y:Math.random()*200});
textArray[i].nameMC.text = newArray[i];

}
This doesn't work. I've tried swapping the various arrays but no luck. So why does the movieclip want to use the "quoted" array value and not the unquoted. Also, when I use"

Code:
one.nameMC.text = "hello";
everything works fine, but the arrays won't. So:

Code:
textArray[i].nameMC.text = "hello";
for example doesn't work.

Thanks for any guidance!
