I was curious if you can take an existing flash program and get it to run in Air, or do you have to recode the entire thing. I see lots of stuff on Flex to Air, but not much of anything on Flash to Air.

That I do not really remember or look for a solution, so I tell myself that it is perhaps a forum that I did find .. I work on a project with Adobe Flash CS4, consist of several sequences with animation, script, sound ect. Yesterday I try to Launch the movie and I got around to indicate a message saying: That I was unable to load all the sequences,'' then'' that my file had been damaged'' Following this I was worried and I was getting a check in my paper to see if my file was still there, and although it's not as if he estab delete it, it does not appear anywhere in my pc, put in my flash off is to remain open and on which I can still modify items so that is not blocked. View 1 RepliesAfter hitting next on this animation you can see there appears to be blank areas on the animation. If you mouse over them you will see buttons appear which is their "over state." When I publish the animation and preview it in Adobe Flash CS5.5 all the buttons are visible and work correctly. It is only in the brower (chrome, firefox, safari) with up to date Flash Player that is is not working. This is happening in a number of animations I created originally in CS4 last year, and am updating them as CS5.5 using AS3.

And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

View 28 RepliesI'm trying to create a flash program that uses it's own code to send and create images. Each square has a colour and that colour gets added into the array. A black, then grey, then white is:
filecode = ["Bl", "Gr", "Wh"];
That works fine, but when I try to paste it into an Input text box it will only fill in the first part of the array.
filecode = ["Bl,Gr,Wh"];
So the program has NO idea what I want.The only ways I can think of fixing this is by putting in 402 text boxes to suit every box...But every one of them needs a Variable Name.Or by sending the information straight into the array. But this way you are just looking at what you just drew, and that is not at ALL practical.
I have completed a bunch of keyframes with 2 symbol on each moving around. Now I want to add another symbol that will be static. That is, at the same position in each keyframe.
How can I add the new symbol to 250 keyframes that are already set and already have 2 symbols in each?
I can see how to do it one by one... but there must be a better way than that. selecting a herd of keyframes and pasting in the new symbol, ends up only effecting which ever one has the play head.
I also realize I should have put this final symbol in at the start but too late now. So how can I insert a new symbol in 250 keyframes all at once?
I have 8 movie clips on my stage with 25 frames each. Now, I would like to extend tha length of each movie frame to 100. How can I do that? how to decrease the existing frames as well when required.

I have created a Flash-based image gallery using a template purchased from Activeden.net and have successfully published this on a dedicated html page that contains nothing but the SWF file. I would now like to learn how to add an SWF movie to an existing web page. In other words, the movie would run within a rectangular space in a position of my choice surrounded by loads of other stuff.
My first attempts to add a Flash movie to an ASP.NET aspx page were only partially successful. The movie runs within its allocated space but I can only see the bottom third. The rest is cut off by the upper edge of the rectangle (which is big enough to take the whole movie).
Recently, I found a great little Flash project that acts like a jukebox for external mp3 song files, and am using it on my website to play my song demos.I'm now trying to find if there is an existing solution like that for video. I just need some way to progressively download video files from my webspace when the thumbnail is clicked... and am now looking into some sort of Flash jukebox.
I've tried just embedding the video files into HTML, but they don't progressively download for some reason (even though they are saved as Progressive With Compressed Header). I've even tried using prettyPhoto (...a script that mimics a Lightbox like feature, where the whole page dims, and a floating window appears over your site, displaying any media, and allowing you to move back/forth through your list of media)..... works great, but again, not a progressive download, so you stare at a blank screen for a while.
Seems the only way it works is if I have the file on YouTube or some other site, then embed it or use the prettyPhoto app.So, can someone either tell me how to make the embedded file download (OT, but I figured I'd ask), or point at some existing Flash file that serves as a video jukebox, showing all media on a common window?
I have an .flv file I created and imported it into the Flash timeline and needed to use an Actionscript with it because I need it to loop when it's finished. I exported it to an .swf file but I can't find any way to use the "ClearOverPlayMute.swf" skin with it on my web page.
Flash doesn't export the swf file with any playback skins.
If I already have an existing movie, what is the best way to add a preloader to this movie?I have 1 frame with a few layers right now. Then, I have some movie clips on frame 1 Should I just move everything to frame 2? Does that throw anything out of sync? I am using labels in the movie clips that that I can use gotoAndPlay("label");
View 5 RepliesFlash Pro CS5 I have a plan view png made into a movieclip of a car which follows a motion guide changing direction as it travels. I select the MC in frame 1 and go to properties, filter section is currently empty and I select dropshadow from the filter choices, adjusting the angle and opacity. Looks good test movie and car runs without shadow after fr1. Methinks I need to apply it to the car in the last frame (no other keyframes between by the way), I select the car and then cannot see how to apply the filter that is now showing in the properties window. How does one apply an existing filter to a movieclip ?
Is this then what is needed to get the car to have the shadow cast north west throughout its journey ? Applying the filter to the MC at start and end of the tween ?

View 1 RepliesI'm reletively new to flash, and am trying to modify a template and am running into a problem and I don't seem to know why Flash is acting so strange. I am going into a movie clip to edit the color of an item, and when I do so with a tint, it overrides any additional effects such as light, and text. The color appears almost as if it were just slapped on top of everything. When I edit the color in advanced mode, it is really a hit-or-miss to get the correct color, and will only modify when changing the offset RGB.
And also when doing this, the text gradually changes color, for example: there are 4 items in total that I want to edit the color of. Each item is a different colored box with text on the front (for a main Navigation of the website). --- The first item, the text will stay white. Gradually through the second and third items it starts to change, and by the fourth / last item, the text is completely blue. Is it possible for a portion of text to be connected somehow to an object within the animation in a movieclip? If so, is it possible to go inside and edit this? -the shape, animation, and text? Is there an easier way to change the color of an item inside a movie clip? I can supply additional information if needed.. files etc.
I have created a flash program and I would like to run a second flash program from inside the first. To explain, say I am running a program that draws a circle and fills it with a color. Then, I have designed a second program that will divide a circle into sectors by entering percentages, to turn that circle into a pie chart. Is there a way to be running the "draw a circle" program and have a button that opens the "divide the circle into sectors" program in a new window and then passes information from that program to the first program. I am sure I will have to send the information from the second program to an XML file and then have the first program recieve it from the XML file (which I can do), but I don't know if I can run the second program from inside the first program.
