Professional :: Web Page That Can Be Added To And Altered By Viewers
May 23, 2011
Will start with an excel spreadsheet (probably) and will need to make a page that can be filled out and updated by the viewers.Basically they will have selections to make and dates to select from an existing list.
I'm creating a website, on the stage I've got a menu and a movieclip which I use to show my pages, the movieclip's name is pagecontainer_mc.Each page is an exported class for AS3.When I click on a button on the menu, with removeChildAt() and addChild() I remove the current page and show the requested one.Everything ok with this.The problem comes when I need to call a page not from the menu, but from a button inside another page.I've tried writing this code on the main timeline:
var contacts:contatti = new contatti; pagecontainer_mc.contacts_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,showCo ntacts); function showContacts(e:MouseEvent):void { pagecontainer_mc.removeChildAt(1); pagecontainer_mc.addChild(contacts); }
[code]....
If I put the code inside the page's timeline I can't access to pagecontainer_mc (or at least I'm not able to do that).
I've set up a shared object using user_so.data.flashVar = value.This works fine, but as it is being used to store details for saved games, users could easily edit their saved games to cheat their way through the game. Is there any way to check if a shared object has been altered outside of Flash, or are there any other methods of saving files in AS2 that I'm unaware of?
I've made a flash file (mac, Flash 5.5) and exported the .html. .swf and .js file with settings to Flash player 8.My viewers on a PC (Firefox 8 on XP) keep getting asked to download Flash player 8 even though they already have Flash 10 installed.I've even unticked the 'check for flash version' option in the publish settings, but the users still get asked to update to player 8.
I have added an swf in my php page using embed and object of HTML.It loads the SWF in http:[url]...... and working fine, but when i apply url rewriting then the swf is not shown on the page although $_REQUEST['action'] prints edit .The URL i am using is http:[url]...
I had created a website about a week that was written 100 percent in Flash CS4. Today I was taking a tutorial on Lynda.com that had to do with SEO in Flash CS4. I added some h1 and h2 tags just as the below code shows:
<style type="text/css"><!--body { text-align: center;}--></style></head><body bgcolor="#000000"><h1>RENCON Intellectual Property</h1><p>RENCON Intellectual Property introduces the Relational Squaring System for construction and layout personnel.</p><h2>Relational Squaring System</h2><p>The Relational Squaring System is the newest and easiest way for construction layout personnel to create 90-degree angles.</p><h2>Contact RENCON Intellectual Property</h2><p>You can contact RENCON Intellectual Property at info@rencononline.com.</p><!--url's used in the movie--><!--text used in the movie--><!--
For some reason when I preview it in a browser the site much lower on the browser page. I put the code back the way it was and now everything looks right again.
Im trying to use the added eventlistener. When a child is loaded i then wish to trigger to a function. But the function seems to be triggering before the graphic is load. I am using this for some press loader functionality before a database is queried. My code looks like this....
loadingicon = new loadIcon();gridCradle.addEventListener(Event.ADDED, loadiconAdded);gridCradle.addChild(loadingicon); public function loadiconAdded(e:Event) { if (e.target == loadingicon) { troot.debugger.htmlText+="icon loaded" gridCradle.removeEventListener(Event.ADDED, loadiconAdded); inizRequestOfData(); } }
The above if statement works. But inizRequestOfData() seems to be trigged before the loading of anygraphic is done.
I would like to create my page links so when I roll over the text(link) enlarges and then once pressed a swf animation plays.When it stops it automatically directs to the desired page.
I have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). The problem with the standard one is that it doesn't check to see if everything is loaded.What I'm after is a routine on my index page that invisibly loads some of the elements from my inner pages (common swf, maybe some of the images) and WAITS until it's done before moving to the inner pages (displaying the company logo and/or a load status in the meantime).Many people would suggest a preloader inside the common SWF on my inner pages (which I have), but the problem with that on its own is that it doesn't stop the HTML from displaying.
I'm trying to figure out a way to do a preloader (like those in a SWF, which loops until everything is loaded) that controls both the SWF AND the HTML.Recently, I found that you can use one swf to preload another, which would be a potential solution, as I could make an SWF on the index page whose sole purpose is to load (invisibly) the common SWF, displaying the load status and then loading an inner html page once it's done.Problem is, I have bee having trouble finding the coding for that, as most searches for preloaders end up being about standard preloaders, where it's monitoring the same SWF that the code is on, as opposed to controlling a second, external SWF.Can someone point me to or provide me with the proper coding/procedure for a preloader that controlls a second external swf or give me a better solution? one?
I have a project for a site that sells fishing lures.I want to have an animated index page before moving on to the home page. My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?
So I have a looping SWF file that I uploaded on my website. It played perfectly until I decided to add a preloader.
I set up the Flash file with 2 Scenes, "Preloader" and "Scene 1" .The Preloader scene will play just fine. After the preloader plays, Scene 1 then begins to play as it should. However, once the animation ends, instead of looping like it did before, it just stops on the first frame.
How can I get my SWF to play the Preloader, and then continue looping the main animation (Scene 1)?
Here is my AS:
import flash.events.ProgressEvent; function update(e:ProgressEvent):void { var percent:Number = Math.floor( (e.bytesLoaded*100)/e.bytesTotal );
I've been working on a project that's about 500k for the .fla, and 36k for the .swf
On my latest export and save, the .fla is coming up 25k, and the the .swf is 120k - 120k is wayyyy too big for what I'm doing. The fla seems to be all intact even though it's only 5% of what it used to be.
I haven't changed any of the publishing settings.
I tried loading an older version of the project (from a month ago). When I export that version, the swf also comes out at about 120k instead of 36.
I'm using CS5, and have only had it a few days (was using CS4) - is there some new function that could affect the file sizes so drastically? It's strange, as it was exporting fine until about an hour ago.
I am using a Flash AS2 template for a PayPal shopping cart on my site. As the code is now, a new shipping charge is added to the buyers total for every item added. I would like it to have only 1 shipping charge, no matter how many items are added!
I have a flash button embedded into a css/HTML page that I want to use to navigate into a new page without opening a new window. Here's the code I'm using in the SWF which I got from the adobe tv tutorial:Here is the test page that I have embedded the flash button in:The flash button is the "about Ian" button on the upper left. I want the navigation to be like the traditional rollovers on the page. (I'm working my way up to having the embedded flash button fade into place, that's why I'm using flash.)
// 1. Event handler function function clickHandler (Event:MouseEvent): void { trace("CLICK!"); navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://ianmartinphotography.com/about.html")); } // 2.
i am nearly done with editing my template but my first page picture and some writting is showing up on my second and third page how do i reslove this issue i have attached a picture link below [URL]
I made a christmas card using the fabulous snow fall animation tutorial using Flash CS4, AS3. I have a swf file sent it to several people. Unfortunately some could not view it as they did not have FlashPlayer 10 installed.Is there something I can do that will let everyone watch it whether they have Flash Player 10 or not.
I am adding rectangles dynamically and have first added them to movie clips so that they can receive mouse events.But I am having trouble accessing their position on stage.If I set the position of the movie clip that contains them, the x coordinate returned is always 0.Is there a way to get the position of the shape and/or movie clip container.
I'm more of a Flex than Flash developer so I'm hopeful this is something easy. Short story, I have a scrollpane in a flash-created swf. In my pure AS3 project I dynamically create menuitems within a new movieclip.
This deals with the (diverse) flash viewers that let you zoom in on images on websites. I trying to extract the large, zoomed-in image rendered by the viewer. In many cases the images seem to be dynamically called by the viewer, or are created only for the part of the image you are zooming on at that point. Ideally, the approach here would be a programmatic one that could be called on an identified flash element. Expect there is nothing universal, but interested in the top few approaches that will grab most cases.
I'm using flash and php to write or overwrite a text file (an xml file). I have text strings that contain the xml data, which then get parsed by the php file.
It works fine. However, I notice that the header in the XML file <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?> get's replaced with <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
I'm trying to add a line to a movie clip. When I trace the width of the lineadded it traces correctly, but the line doesn't appear. If I do everything the same but add the line to the stage instead of the movie clip it does appear. I know this is one of those cases where I can't see the forest fro the trees but
Here's the relevant code: var xAxis = new Shape(); graph_mc.addChild(xAxis); xAxis.graphics.lineStyle(2, 0x000000, 1) xAxis.graphics.moveTo(startX, startY); xAxis.graphics.lineTo(maxX, startY) xAxis.name =
I prepared a movie and put into my aspx page and there is a button on this movie which navigates to another aspx page. It has to use querystring information to decide which page to go.
-The page which i put my flash movie is : entry.aspx -If the page is : entry.aspx?lang=tr : it will go to the turkish page on button click, (url : "mturkish.aspx") -if the page is : entry.aspx?lang=en : it will go to the english page on button click, (url : "menglish.aspx")
I'm using Amazon EC2 and AFMLE 3.2. How do I generate a report that will tell me how many viewers I have watching?I figured out how to report on the Kb out in an hour but that only tells me average viewers, asuming they all watched an entire hour I need unique viewers and average viewers at different points in the webcast.
I would like to write a flash program that obtains the viewer's IP address, then obtains the viewer's state, and then according to the state it shows a particular picture. So if I put this flash on my website and someone from Massachussetts looks at my website they will see a picture of a MASS license plate, but if someone from NJ looks at the same site they will see a picture of a NJ license plate. I am familiar with some PHP, HTML, java-script and I have done alot Flash graphics work but I have not done any ActionScript which will need to be used here.
I've created a swf for a component live preview. The live preview appears to work ok when creating a new component, and setting the live preview in the component definition panel.
When I update an existing component definition (in a separate component library FLA) the live preview does not work. The strange thing is if I copy the entire (component FLA) library and paste it into a new FLA it works fine (although in doing so I receive a whole bunch of errors in the output window saying - Plugin tool script error in method ik_isIKContainer).
Ive noticed a lot of flash websites have user defined items/links added to the default flash right click settings menu. In other words when we right click on such flash websites it shows links to the designers home page or associated site etc.
I just wanted to know how to stop my flash site from resizing to the size of whoevers looking at its browser? I just want it to remain as it's set size.
