I have a series of images that merged into one 2400 pixel wide jpg. I want this to loop continuously across the bottom of a website. I have tried using TweenLite and TweenGroup but cannot get that to behave correctly. Is there an Actionscript 3 way to do this? Ultimately this is being added to a Flex site.
View 1 RepliesI have a horizontal image scroll that is made up of various thumbnails. When you move your mouse to the left it goes left, move it to the right and it goes right.The problem here lies somewhere in making the loop continuous. I have it looping correctly. There are masks on each thumbnail.
I have two instances of the same movieclip that contains the thumbnails right next to each other. This allows it to loop.When two instances of the thumbnails are both on the screen at the same time, a few of them lose their masks while they are on the stage. Why is this?
regarding continuous scroller in actionscript.Th problem is that in my current scroller.. after a few up and down scrolls, the space between movieclips holding the images dosent seems to be remaining the same.

Direction is controlled by mouse position (extreme left or right), and it will stop when the mouse is positioned over an image in the center area.Here's the code:

How can I make a horizontal image scroller that when u click and hold would allow me to scroll through a pan with hotspots(buttons)? I have this script which does the basic functions I am wanting but it if I drag right enough I can drage the MC right out of the frame. I would like to be able to scroll right and then when it meets the very right edge of the movie clicp and the actual movie frame it won't go further. Same with the left edge.

I'm trying to make a simple horizontal image gallery scroller. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I've gotten the slider tab to work properly, but the masked image gallery is not moving at all when the slider is pulled. I included the Flash 8 FLA for the scroller in the post below.

1) How to make the gallery endlessly scrollable in a efficient way. I used duplication method but the trick used is noticeable when it axis matches with stage mask
2) Also, I am not able to control mouseOver and mouseOut scrolling.

The problem is that the animation is not smooth!!! It has jumps and hiccups. It is hard to see in the beginning, but once you see it, you can't get rid of it.

I've started doing an XML gallery. I've been going through the AS3 XML Grid Image Gallery tutorial on Republic of Code
Except I want the thumbnails to do a horizontal continuous scroll, instead of being set out on a grid.
Now that in AS3 I can't use duplicateMovieClip. Is there anyway to make it loop without repeating the nodes in my XML?

below is a link to a super simple movie that I have of text scrolling/moving horizontally across the screen.The only issue I have is at the quality of the scroll/movement. it is inconsistently jerky, sometimes when it first starts getting on the screen and leaving the screen sometime all the time and sometimes when it leaves the screen.I have had this issue with other movies and scrolling things across the screen horizontally I had to increase the frame rate to 30 fps and extend the time line but it never really got to be a smooth scroll.

I've made the kirupa simple scrollbar [URL] to scroll horizontal. This works just perfect but it is not smooth. My question to you is - how to make it smooth? I've got 4 MC's with the instance names content, mask, scroll_area and scroller.

I've created a horizontal dynamic text scroller (like latest news ones found on some websites) in flash 8 with as2, and this swf file reads data from a .txt file. the problem is that when change the txt in the file, it doesnt show in my browser until i clear its cache. But if a client doesnt clear cache he will get the old text...I would like to know how to prevent the browser from caching that swf content, any code or script will be most welcomed. I've tried to add <meta> tags in my html but of no use.

I've been putting this together and ran into a wall. I'd like to have this drag scroller drag left and right. I'd also like to have it zoom in/out according to where the mouse has been clicked. i.e. zoom to the mouse when clicked. I would also like to be able to scroll left/right while it's zoomed in or out. As a bonus, it would be nice to get the original blur working as well, but thats just an extra

Can someone point me in the right direction to making a functional Smooth Dynamic Scroller just like [URL] (Under Portfolio). I'm not saying "The Same" - I mean like, be able to have two icons that I create (One Up and One Down) then have them function the same as the 2Advanced website. Click and hold, it smoothly rolls down/up, release it stops. Also for it to only scroll as far as the content does.
View 5 RepliesI have one very large movieclip, and I'd like to create a very smooth (eased), tween, that moves it around the stage, on mouse move. so far, I've read the "get mouse direction" article, and that's helped a lot. and I'm calculating the distance the mouse is moving.. and that's all good and dandy,.. but I'm having a little trouble converting that into a smooth scroll.. I'd like to use tweenmax preferably, and not an on enterframe.
