Table Layout Display Breaks Up After Inserting SWF Object?

Using Flash Pro CS4/Windows Vista: I have a table layout which breaks apart in Firefox leaving gaps between cells after inserting a SWF file.
I have inserted the file using the Insert>Media>SWF command in Dreamweaver and uploaded the SCRIPTS folder.
When I remove the SWF object, the file displays perfectly (with an empty cell where the SWF object should appear) The SWFobject is 2 pixels narrower than the containing cell (cell: 227w X 146h; SWF 225w X 146h)[URL]..

i'm trying to load a full html page with layout table cells intact and full function (like an i frame)i can load text and image but i can seem to get the entire page flash just lods it how it wants.does anyone have an idea? Can this be done? i've tried it with a dynamic text field, componets, and i can get falsh to see table / cell layouts at all.[code]is how i load my content. but making several dynamic text fields to load one page of content is working my nerves.URL...

I'm using a WebView to display a web page which contains some Flash content which basically works pretty well.
The big problem is, that the Flash content seems not to consider the WebView's boundings: The Flash content is displayed even if the WebView is too small to show the complete page and the Flash content is not inside the WebView's boundings. Moreover this Flash content overlays other (native) layout elements that are displayed next to the WebView.To me, it seems, that the Flash content is rendered in (special) z-Layer, that overlays all other layout elements.
Tested with: Android 2.2 and Flash 10.1.Is this a known bug in Adobes Flash player 10.1?

I'm trying to create a catalog (using xml), I know how to display the information retrieved from the xml file, I just don't know how to display it in a grid/table style. I'm trying to add the btns in array "but" via stageMc.addChild(section1), but instead of tracing "section1" I get "instance1", and of course stageMc wont advance. I guess what I'm asking, is whats the diff. from a functional standpoint if I embed the clips in flash, or embed them into the stageMc clip via the display list? what am I missing? FYI, this code works, so long as i place the assets on stage myself. But I want to add the btns via the display list, and i can add them, they just instanciate wrong?

If I create a rectangle with 100px width and 100px height and then rotate it, the size of the element's "box" will have increased.With 45 rotation, the size becomes about 143x143 (from 100x100).Doing sometimes like cos(angleRad) * currentWidth seems to work for 45 rotation, but for other bigger angles it doesn't.At the moment I am doing this:

I've recently just started delving into both actionscript and flex...the main reason being I like to create a sortable datagrid or datagroup like thishere you click the main entry that already has some detail and the row expands to show more.It might be possible to do with an itemrenderer but for the life of me I cant seem to find any tutorial or source or demo that doesn't assume you already know what to do with the itemrenderer since you cant just drop them in and have them work it seems.

Excuse me, I'm afraid I'll show my ignorance here,I'm trying to update my music site, and am happy with the look I get when I preview in IE from Dreamweaver, but when I upload to my site online, IE chokes up and the flash object never shows up, as on the iphone iOS 4.3 safari browser, and Firefox renders the object, but too far too the left.
Basically, when I have href text of various song names in cells on a table with a background image. When a song name is clicked, I'm attempting to have songs from my soundcloud account show up and play in a cell on the table, using an iframe. This is sort of working locally in IE, but nowhere else (see above). The code I grabbed from soundcloud is a flash object with a number of parameters defined that I am not able to utilize in my current method of just using the src="http:samplefile.com" part of the ofject code, not the other object parameters.
I've also tried creating separate html pages that have the full object code and nothing else, and then having my text in my table cells call these html files to show up in the iframe--that's actually working in IE, and though the location is off, in Firefox, but not on an iphone. Has anybody messed with PurePDF. I'm trying to set up a SWC library for it and I've gotten stuck on the layering part. If you just put in a background image and a table it automatically creates 2 pages instead of just layering the object. They have a function for layering object but the only tutorial out there is showing how to layer rectangle graphics. Here's my code.

if works up untill that point but it doesn't recognize a table or an embedded image as a PdfContentByte and that's all it will let you add to the layering list.

I am trying to build a site with fluid layout. I have three classes: Preloader, Main and Background.Preloader loads main.swf and has resize function where it can access Background like so:
Sprite(loader.content).getChildAt(0).y = stage.stageHeight -
Sprite(loader.content).getChildAt(0).height;
Main has an instance of Background.Background draws vertical lines. It uses fluid layout on its own. Works fine.Here is the catch: Background utilizes stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight,when tested with separate fla works like charm. However, when accessed thru Preloader throws this error: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.I think it is because use of stage but I don't know how to go about it.It also uses its own resize function.
So, what is the best way to put it all together? Where should I keep resize function? What I need to do with stage object in Background?

Can you make one Bitmap Object (I'm using an external jpg) or something similar, and then display it many times simultaneously without creating a separate object each time?
Also, would they be easily removed or hidden?
I've got a little checkmark jpg graphic loaded here, but I'm not sure how to go about using it in many places at once.. I can only display it in the one place at any one time...
I'm thinking there might be a way to load the picture once, then use its bitmapData elsewhere in new display objects somehow, without needing to reload the image over and over?

It's my understanding that a display object cannot be in the display list more that once.So if I add something to the stage shouldn't a second addition of the same object replace the first? for instance:

I am trying to build an MXML application with Flash Builder 4.5, and I am integrating an API that requires the root of a display object to be a MovieClip. Personally I think this is bad design but I have to go with it. The root object always seems to end up as the stage, because of course I have to add the object to the stage for it to be added to the display list. Is there some way that I can either change the stage type in an MXML application to a MovieClip or is there some way to force a MovieClip wrapper to become the root of a display object?
