Why Does Flash Add Points When I "Undo"

I converted a bitmap to vector.  I am removing all the useless extra points which get created in that process.  Occasionally I will mis-click and end up moving or deleting a shape.  When that happens I want to use "undo".  But ctrl-z and undo from the menu do not simply undo the last action.   It also goes and adds useless extra points all over the place.  Why?  Is there a way to make it quit doing that?  It looks to me like it is a very bad bug.

But when user clicks on Undo the object go back to their default position and after clicking on redo object will move on the new position. I have been tasked with trying to create a drawing tool that draws dotted lines as you drag the mouse across the stage. I can easily capture the points on MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE and store them in a vector and then draw the points as dots:

The problem is that I need to calculate evenly distributed points on an ever growing Vector of points so I can only draw the line between say every 5th point (say using modulus). I have been battling away with Bezier curve equations both Quadratic and Cubic but still can't quite figure out how to convert my Vector of points into an evenly distributed Vector of Points without sucking the life from the CPU.

When i draw pen style in first frame there is no problem, but when i click rectangle style in second frame it is drawing with both style. How can i stop or kill other function?

Im wondering how to implement undo redo functionality with a TextArea. I already have an undoredo framework functionality working, now I have two questions.When do I start/stop a new undo/redo command, eg when a user hits undo, how far back do I go. How do I implement this(1.) in a normal TextAreay thinking:I thinking that I should create a new undo command, when anything but a alphanumber+space is hit. To do this I would use the keyDown event and test if the key is alpha num if it is not I will reset the command.

i've been unsuccessfully attempting to create my own undo/redo classes that work well with any type of possible undo and redo commands.

for example, my simple class works perfectly with undoing/redoing x and y positions of display objects or undoing/redoing values of sliders, etc., but things get dicey when i try to tailor my classes to also work with things like adding and removing items to a list.

is there any well known and well documented solution for general undoing and redoing for actionscript (without Flex)?

I created some Combobox and, when you select each item, a Movieclipappears with a different width,height and name.When it's in the scene you can Drag it to the position you wish.I made two button:Undo(), Redo()for the user who wish to make a previous action,in other words,put the Movieclip to its previous place.I try something with some Arrays that capture the different position when Drag is stopped.I place a Shared Object for registring all the previous position but I don't know how to make it work.So,I show you my code.function of the combobox:

Loads an image to an Image component Transform the image (rotate, flip) with the Matrix Apply filter(s)

Now I am thinking about to create some undo redo functionality. Each time I do a transformation / add an filter I want to be able to go back to the previous image (before the action).

My thought is to have an Array and add the previous bitmap to the stack. But I see that there are some differences between transformations and filters I have also seen the ImageSnapshot and whot i can do and it looks like what I am after.

Professional :: Exception Thrown In Destructor CS5 When Using "UNDO" Command?

I'm assisting my professor with a class helping students build an online portfolio. Yesterday, one of the students sent me a bunch of .fla files to review and I made some changes, inserted a bunch of comments in the code and told her to change the rest of her files into the same format. (Adding keyframes, frame labels and button codes, etc.)
 
Then she emailed me to tell me that she keeps getting this error message every times she makes a mistake and tries to "undo" something.
 
"Every time I open up the drawing page and another one of my subpages like logo design for example, I work on what you said to do, but if i make a mistake and undo it, I get this error message and all my images disappear completely from the time line. I have attached a screenshot of the error message, maybe you know whats going on but I'll keep working on it and try to not have to undo something because at the moment that seems to be the problem. I have to close flash and reopen everything to make it go away."

AS3 :: Flash - Get The Two Points Of A Line?

I have a component (link to Test class) which contain one line in it, and I put one point of this line to (0, 0).

Then drag it to Flash(fla), and get its Shape in AS3 like:

And I can get one point of this line which is x and y of var line. But how to get another point of this line?

Edit:
Ignore component stuff above, here has another question but I guess it pretty much the same as the question above:

Draw a line from (0, 0) to (10, 10) and draw another line from (10, 0) to (0, 10), how to get those lines of two-point form in AS3?

If I access them as Shape then I get two similar shapes which have same x, y, width and height values. Does AS3 has some way to access line as a REAL line not just a shape? or does it has any way I can calculate it out?

I am trying to create a mindmap where the user can drag points about the screen. I have gotten as far as drawing the line via actionscript, and drag+drop the points (defined as movie clips on stage). This is the existing script - I don't know how to get the lines to follow the points. Something to do with ENTER_FRAME or updateAfterEvent?

Flash Supports Subtitles With Cue Points And XML Files For Flash Video

I understand that Flash supports subtitles with cue points and XML files for flash video. First, I don't know if that would work for a flash animation, and second, I'm looking for a much simpler solution. I am more than willing to manually add and time my subtitles myself on a new layer. What I need help with is finding the simplest way possible to make these subtitles toggle-able. Why? Because I seem to have a serious allergy to ActionScript, and though I can master programs like 3D studio Max and After Effects, I seem to screw up even the simplest of Actionscript jobs.

Is there some way I can make a button that simply makes my subtitles layer invisible across the whole thing? Maybe a command to change the font to a blank one, or to move the titles off screen? There has to be SOME sort of trick that won't require me to drop a load of code into each instance of text. I'm currently using Actionscript 3.0 with Flash CS4. I'd also love to have a pause button that would also stop any music or sound effects that are playing, but after struggling with that for years, I seriously doubt that's going to happen. I did google this subtitles problem, and search flashkit first. Nothing but VIDEO subtitle stuff, and I'm almost positive it wont work the same for a regular animation.

Flash 9 :: Anchor Points In Canvas Resize?

I've got a flash animation of an extruding box drawn frame-by-frame for a "hand drawn" effect. The problem is that I now need to make twice as many frames to allow the box to extrude twice as far, and the canvas is too small to support this; the box would end up outside of bounds. I've tried resizing the canvas, but the extended space is at the opposite end of the canvas from where I need it. In photoshop you could chose where the added space "grew from" but I don't see that option here. Anyone knw a work around It'd be a pain in the tail to have to move very object in every frame for every layer.
