Is someone at Adobe a sadistic jerk? Who uses Bind more than Zoom? Seems like yet another example of them just screwing us over because there are no other choices. Oh, you car key doesnt start your car anymore. You have to dance around your car, get in from the passenger seat, kiss the Adobe emblem, pat you head, whoop loudly and say, "Whatever your wish, my lord", then smack yourself in the face for ever doubting them, comforted in the fact that years down the road you will forget ever questioning their wisdom. Like the Easy Mode thing... I mean, it does start your car!

I am tring to create a simple mine game..so I created a couple movie clips one of which is to be assigned a value of "0" and the other is to be assigned a value of "1" randomly. That is if the one on the left has "0" the other should have "1" and that if I click the one having "0" value ,let it explode or do something..The problem is that I am not sure how to use "onClipEvent(enterFrame)" and on(press).. i've made a button that zooms into a movie clip on a rollover, but it on moves it a certain amount each time you rollover the button. code below:

} wot i want it to do is to continue zooming in for as long as the mouse is over the button, is there anyway i can change the code to zoom in at the same amount but do it continuously until the mouse is moved off the button. Also is there anyway that i can set it so that the zoom stops at a certain percentage, i.e. it only zooms in so much and then stops. What i mean is that the user can zoom in but the picture will only zoom in to say 200% of the original size.
I am working on flash application TELESCOPE or Camera. My goal is to move around the scene and zoom-in or zoom-out I found that if I move scene, I have to move registration point, because I always want to zoom in the centre of my ocular. So far application works fine only if I move, zoom-in and than before I move any further, zoom-out! But when I move, zoom-in (not fully), move again and zoom-in again, the second zooming doesn't appear on desirable registration point
Using flex / air 2.6 working on an Android device, I am using a canvas with a TransformGestureEvent for zoom in on a map. The listening of the efect is working ok, but I can´t seem to find the information on wether the user intended zoom in or zoom out (fingers getting closer or getting apart).I expected the intention of the gesture to be identifiable with the offsetX and offsetY properties of the event, as you will do on a swipe gesture event. But I always get 0 for both properties, no matter how I do the gesture in the device.How can I know if the fingers getting closer or getting apart in a gesture zoom event?
i had a flash file, and the image was dynamically loaded in a movieClip. when i double click the image it will zoom max. and another double click it will retain its best fit.

I'm developing a full screen zoom/pan UI. Everything is working great, except I can't get it to center on the correct point when zooming in.

The numbers in the top-left corner are the navigation, and the white boxes represent the individual sections.
I have a large container movieclip that fills the entire page. Inside of that movieclip (site) I have all of my individual section movieclips (section1-section6). I'm also using a dynamic registration point class to dynamically set the registration point of the "site" movieclip to the current selected section, so that the zoom in/out is centered on that section.
When a user clicks on a navigation item, I first reduce the _xscale and _yscale of "site" to 80, when that is complete I move _x and _y to the position of the selected section's movieclip. When that is complete, I set the _xscale and _yscale back to 100. Right now, it is not zooming in centered, so I have a final step where I correct the _x and _y position after zooming back in.
If I don't zoom in/out I can successfully pan the movieclip and center on the correct section. I believe the problem is that I am moving the _x and _y to the position of the "site" movieclip as if it is at 100%, but since it is at 80% it is not moving to the correct position. I tried to fix this by giving the _x and _y coordinates as:
endX = endX / 100 * 80;
Which made it a little better, but still not centered. I have a feeling that there may be a fundamental flaw in my approach to this.

I have a 4x4 set of square buttons that I need to give instance names to. They will be named 'btn_1' thru 'btn_16'. Is there any shortcut to assigning the names or do I have to go through 16 times clicking on the button and clicking down to the 'instance name' text box?

If in a situation, the addEventListener is being assigned more than once for same actionwhat will happen then? Suppose on frame 5 there is ample_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK...... ... and when user navigates the application/site it comes on frame 5 again and again. Will the addEventListener be applied more than once on that button? If yes then what will happen on clicking on that button? will the associated function be called more than once now?
What is the shortcut for going ONE step back, when being inside a MovieClip. I get inside the MovieClip using "Edit in place" (CMD+Alt+E), but HOW DO I GET OUT using a shortcut?(In the old days i could just use the 'edit in place' shortcut again without having anything selected, but since CS4 or 5 upgrade, that option is gone.)
In Flash CS5 (Mac OS). Window menu... right at the bottom it lists the windows you've got open with a number in front ie:
1 project.fla 2 class.as 3 interface.as
Now... if I click (with the mouse) to focus (activate) the window menu and press a number key corresponding to a window in the list, Flash kindly takes me to that window. Q: What is the 100% keyboard shortcut way to do this? I've had a go at wading in and just pressing keys... as my last-but-one strategy for finding this out. My last strategy being "ask".
I have a MenuBar which contains general menu items like File, View, Tools have sub items in each of those menuitems. The problem is that i want to open the 'File' menu automatically when i press Alt+f key.I could capture the keyevents on the view.But how to open the File Menu of the MenuBar (what is the function that needs to be called from MenuBar Class to popup those sub menuitems) ?

I would like create a application that can can create folders and short cuts to folders in the file system. The user will click a button and it will put a folder on there desktop that has short cuts to files like //server/folder1/folder2 Can you create a desktop shortcut with code in adobe air? How would you do that? How do you create a folder? I keep thinking this should be easy but i keep missing it.
