Each page has like the first page "Welcome" followed by a brief paragraph followed by a "read more..." link/button which opens to a small popup window with additional 3-4 paragraphs. So the main page has "WELCOME" > small paragraph > read more button.
Below that has "LATEST WORKS" > small paragraph > read more button
Both of those "read more..." lead to the same popup window but have their own title "Welcome" and "Latest works"(don't know where the mini title file is) but the paragraphs are the same which I don't want. I want each "read more..." to open to its own little popup.
Still learning script but is their anything in the script to change or something on stage? Or just redo everything somehow

Apparently there's a problem with the nagivateToUrl function in Flex, namely that it tends to get blocked by the popup blockers in some browsers. A project I've recently joined is using a workaround for Firefox using browser sniffing, but a new feature would be a lot cleaner to implement if I could drop this. whether this problem still exists with current Firefox versions? What about Firefox 3.6?

And it worked! It bypassed all the browsers popup blockers, but it brought in some new problems. Every time the .swf loops. The addeventlistener adds a listener. So if the .swf loops 5 times it will open 5 windows when I will click it. I've tried to use removeeventlistener but with no success so far. In the code without the popup bypass this problem didn't occurred. Probably due the new URLRequest. But I don't know how to use this in the javascript. The other problem is the string of the link. For some reason javascript deletes parts of the link when there is an question mark in it. Example:

I got to open a javascript popup with standard size in a website from flash. i.e. it should be able to click in flash, and open up a popup window displaying the content of the URL. I tried the fscommand method from macromedia but it doesnt work. ( btw my published file is asp.net although I don't think that makes any difference from html in terms of javascript)

is it somehow possible to open a HTML popup window from within Flash and have it receive text data from Flash which should be printed ... and this all only in AS3 and Javascript (since no server-side scripting is available)?

Is a button hosted in domain that links to a secure page in link. Will it work or will it get blocked by browsers or internal flash restrictions?
I'm having trouble making Flash open any links when embedded into my MySpace profile. I'm developing a MySpace profile layout that uses embedded SWF movies in custom created DIVs. Everything was going great. Things were loading into place and I managed to get my homemade Twitter widget to update perfectly using a crossdomain.xml.
The one problem I can't seem to address is the 'opening links' issue. Upon searching for the last couple of days, I came across some articles that claim MySpace blocks "navigateToURL" commands. Also found out a workaround that involves placing a transparent GIF over the area which is supposed to be clickable, but I still have hope that such a basic function as clicking a button within an embedded SWF in MySpace and opening said link can be achieved.
I'm working on a site that's intended to display full screen. At present the initial HTML page has a "launch site" link which pops up a fullscreen window (via javascript window.open) with our Flash content.Once in the Flash site, all URLs that point at off-site destinations are set to open in a new window ("_blank" as the target - either an href in text, or via navigateToUrl). In Mac Firefox the new window opens BEHIND the full-screen Flash (as a new tab in my case). In Windows FF and IE, and Mac Safari, the new window pops in front of the fullscreen Flash.Is there a way to make the non-fullscreen window pop in front of the fullscreen Flash? I'm using swfobject 2.1 - perhaps I need to use an externalInterface call...thoughts?

When a thumbnail is clicked, it will bring up the Detail movieclip. And inside the Detail movieclip, I've created some buttons with an external class of "DetailButtons". Inside the DetailButtons class, the buttons dispatch a custom event that the FLA is listening for. The problem is I can't figure out how to have one of the buttons open the corresponding url link in the XML file. I just keep getting the 1069 error.[code]

The problem I'm having is every time I click on a link it directs me into a new window, it will redirect in the same window and new tabs wont keep poping up? I've been asked to modify this flash piece (CS3, AS2) and add clickable links to the pop up menu. For the life of me I can't get it to work, and my head hurts from searching the web top to bottom for an answer. I would attach the fla but its too large, but basically you scroll over a button, in this case a dot, and it triggers a pop up box beside it with a list of items. These are generated by frame identifiers, and when you roll over the box it goes away. I need it to stay there and make that list of items clickable ones.

If you create a popup via:[code]It will create a popup and bring it on top of any other visual piece. I have one problem though. This 'popup' needs to stay up even when the user interacts with the background.I would use modal, but I need the ability to interact with the back. Any way to tell the popup manager not to remove the popup when the user clicks off of it?

Some external servers do not provide crossdomain.xml for their hosted SWF files.
I am running locally. I want to have full trust for debugging purposes.

I have a question concerning pop up blockers. Would I somehow be able to create something in flash, and when clicked the link opens in a new window (_blank) however, as I have it right now, some pop up blockers are preventing the new window to open.So, would I able to implement something into the code to prevent this from happening?

I was recently testing the Amazon MP3 Widget on my site. It was not appearing and I realized it was being blocked by my ad blocker plug-in that prevents cross site flash objects. I want to know if there is a way to tell people that they are missing this content. It seems like the ad blocker simply removes any embed code. What can I do to tell people they might be missing something they actually want to see. I'm hoping there's something similar to the no script tag, but I'm assuming its more than that.

The problem im having is that it triggers pop-up blockers and becomes an inconvieience to the audience. Ive seen pages where it doesent trigger the pop-up blocker - and am wondering how this is done.
I asked a friend of mine, he didnt know either - but assumed it might have somthing to do with emulating a pressed CTRL key.
