I have a question concerning pop up blockers. Would I somehow be able to create something in flash, and when clicked the link opens in a new window (_blank) however, as I have it right now, some pop up blockers are preventing the new window to open.So, would I able to implement something into the code to prevent this from happening?
I was recently testing the Amazon MP3 Widget on my site. It was not appearing and I realized it was being blocked by my ad blocker plug-in that prevents cross site flash objects. I want to know if there is a way to tell people that they are missing this content. It seems like the ad blocker simply removes any embed code. What can I do to tell people they might be missing something they actually want to see. I'm hoping there's something similar to the no script tag, but I'm assuming its more than that.
Im currently using AS3 code with some javascript integrated into it which allows me to open an image in a popup window which is the same size as the image. The problem im having is that it triggers pop-up blockers and becomes an inconvieience to the audience. Ive seen pages where it doesent trigger the pop-up blocker - and am wondering how this is done.
I asked a friend of mine, he didnt know either - but assumed it might have somthing to do with emulating a pressed CTRL key.
Apparently there's a problem with the nagivateToUrl function in Flex, namely that it tends to get blocked by the popup blockers in some browsers. A project I've recently joined is using a workaround for Firefox using browser sniffing, but a new feature would be a lot cleaner to implement if I could drop this. whether this problem still exists with current Firefox versions? What about Firefox 3.6?
I have an FLV embedded in a SWF, and it preloads whenever a user visits the page it's on. Is there a way to prevent it from preloading, or force a user to click play before it loads?
I searched everywhere for a peice of code to prevent a web page from loading when it is not on a server.Finally found this one and I swear it was working last night.Am I placing the function in the wrong place?I have everything in 2 framesif the flash swf is currently running on the propper server it should skip to frame 2 and if it is running on a computer or the wrong server it should stay at frame 1.[code]
I've been searching on google and through forums for hours now trying to find a way to prevent my site from cache in browsers. I know it's not possible to "prevent" it from caching, but it's a way to trick the browser into thinking it needs to load the SWF again instead of just getting the one from the cache.
Now I've tried many types but I can't get it to work. I don't understand how to implement it into AS or Javascript and what goes where..
My site is set up by one parent SWF combined with a HTML script and 6 child SWF's, and they are updating all the time so I really need this function.
See it here: [URL]
The most used one is this I think or something close:
I'm a teacher and I have some animations made in flash language (swf). I would like to publish these animations on my web site so my students could see, but I wonder if there is any way to prevent these animations being downloaded.
Example: when I see an animation published on my web site, this animation is stored in Internet Temporary Files and I can save this animation anywhere. How can I prevent an animation is stored in the temporary folder? In other words, this animation can only be seen if the user is logged on the site.

I am loading an flv file from an s3 location. I want to prevent its hotlinking. crossdomain.xml does not seem to work for flvs Anybody has nay idea, why crossdmain does not work? and what are the ways we can prevent other flash containers to extract the content from our location?
I hope I would not waste your time too much. I am going to publish my Adobe Flex library to sell in commercial, but I don't need anyone can open my SWC file and study the code in there. I see Adobe Flex library can prevent this activity. How could I do this too?
Recently a client was concerned that their SWF was "insecure" because the XML path was coming from Flashvars. This seems to me to be something that isn't really a concern as the SWF is only displaying images / text and a few button links. I can understand how someone could path to the swf and add a remote XML path in to add javascript to the button url targets, but really what damage could this do? Eg. they could change [URL] to this [URL] Obviously they could build a fake wrapper html file around this but I still don't see how they could do anything harmful with this. Am I missing something? My next question is what is the best way to go about preventing this from happening? So far I have in my XSS checking class:
I have simple button, which calls loader to load external swf. It works well, but after some time, when I click button again it loads swf from the start. Is there any way to load swf permanently? It will be great if second click on the button would run complete event without loading process.
edit: I use unloadAndStop when I remove loaded swf from the stage. Maybe it has something to it.
Is there any way to add 3D properties like .z and .rotationY without the MovieClip's cacheAsBitmap property being automatically set to true? This automatic cacheAsBitmap to true messes up the visual of my MC (which is using a lot of bitmaps and filters) as soon as I rotate it in 3D. And turning it "off" right after it doesn't seem to work.
I am trying to create an input text field which does not insert HTML formatting to whatever the viewer types in it. For example, if the viewer puts the text "hello" into the text box, the value of the box should not be[code]...
I have to load png images into flash, such that, whenever they change on server, the change should be reflected on client! But the swf loads the same image over and over during the same session! I am guessing this is because the browser returns the cached image instead of the original! how to fix this?
If I have a prompt window where I am asking the user for some input, is there some way I can prevent them from switching window focus to the other windows in my application? (switching to other applications is fine) I'd actually have preferred if the window didn't appear in the taskbar at all, but utility windows look awful and I'm using system chrome so lightweight is out.
Now, when I click on the button in the area where the movieclip is it will register this movieclip as event.target. I would like to make the button the event.target regardless where I click and prevent flash from registering the movieclip inside the button as the target.
I have a movieclip containg several containers with other objects attached to them. Those containers have different levels of nesting. Now I want to add an EventListener to the top-level MovieClip and the called function uses attributes of this MovieClip. Because of that I cannot just retrieve the MovieClip by saying e.target.parent but have to stop the propagation. I know there is a stopPropagation() method but I don't really get how (and when) to use it.
If I have sth like this: function myResponse(e:Event):void { //Things happening } myMC.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, myResponse);
I periodically upload a revised main.swf. But I have torestart my browser when I retrieve the files from the remoteserver, in order to see my updated swf. The advice given on:"How to prevent caching of swf files"does nothing, in IE FF or Safari, with FlashPlayer v 9
I am using Flash CS4. I applied a Motion preset to one of the symbols on my stage. However, the Motion tween is applied to the symbol infinitely & it loops over to the beginning of the tween after completing it.However, I only want the tween to complete once & not loop over after it.
I'm able to control the loaded swf with play and pause buttons. I have another question, and that's how to prevent the loaded swf from looping. I'd like the loaded swf to play to it's last frame and stop I have the following code and it works with an error. I'm assuming the error is coming up because the function is executing before the swf is fully loaded.
var myLoader = new Loader();var myURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("box.swf");myLoader.load(myURL);addChild(myLoader); pause_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,
I often have the problem that after shifting my AS windows around some times the window becomes highter than my screenheight. The window can only be resized in height when dragging the bottom of the window. But as it is offscreen I can't resitze it. I have to load a new workspace or dock it on some small window group and then drag it away (works only with some windows).
