Writing RTMP Streaming Server for streaming AVC+AAC video. And it works fine with rtmpdump. But I can't force it to work in flowplayer and other flash video players.The message sequence after handshake is similar to FMS / RED5 / erlyvideo / haxevideo servers: I've tried a lot of variations.
From Chrome debug console I can see, what all negotiating messages passed to the flowplayer. The last one is onMetaData. And after this the working sample (rtmp://flash.tvwmedia.net/LiveVideo//Live300) gets NetStream.Buffer.Full. And streaming from my server don't get it.
I'm starting with AVC Header message, containing sps/pps. After it first AVC picture passed. After - AAC header and AAC sample. And then AVC/AAC samples. This dumped OK by rtmpdump - I have working flv on exit. But flowplayer and others does not work.

I would like to add a very small and simple Flash audio player to my website. I have found lots of Flash MP3 players, but I can't seem to find players that will work with other types of audio files, such as aac/m4a/mp4.
I had previously been using Windows Media Server to stream WMA files on my site, but this only works for Windows users, and I need streaming to work for Mac users as well. So I think Flash is the way to go, but I cannot use mp3's because of licensing concerns.
I've been looking and looking for a flash player that supports other audio types, but can't find one. Is it true that flash has a native class for mp3, but doesn't have built-in support for others?
I'm using jPlayer in a website, which is a cross-platform/cross-browser jQuery solution for audio and video playback on a website. On my website, I will have users upload files either in MP3 or OGG format. I wonder though... in order to truly stay 100% stable on any browser or platform, wouldn't I need to support a corresponding OGG for every MP3 uploaded (and vice-versa)? I know jPlayer uses HTML5 when it can and will fall back to Flash when necessary, but I didn't know if you need to have that file in both formats to have it play everywhere. If I need both file formats then I suppose I'd have to convert the file to the other format using a server-side conversion. If I need just one format... then wouldn't that be just dandy! So my question is, do I need to convert? Or not?
View 1 RepliesI'm setting up a simple little OSMF-based media player, and I have hooked up the org.osmf.captioning plugin found in the samples. It is working just groovy with video, but I also have audio files to play with captions, and it doesn't seem to do anything for those. On initial inspection, I can't see anything in the plugin that ties it to a specific type of media. Nor can I find any indication that the timeline metadata used for captioning is only relevant to certain types of media. Does the captioning plugin support audio playback? Might I have set it up incorrectly?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a client-side web app that generates music procedurally using some user-input parameters, so I'm looking for a framework (e.g. Flash, Silverlight etc.) that has the capability to play audio at a specified pitch. Whether it is playing a WAV/MP3 file, using MIDI output, or just playing beeps doesn't really matter -- I just need something that will enable me to generate arbitrary music client-side.
I've done a bit of searching and it appears that Flash might have the ability to change pitch with the help of a third-part plugin, but I couldn't find anything similar for Silverlight.
I picked up enough AS3 recently to create some advertising banners and they work perfectly when I test the movie within CS3 by using ctrl+enter. I uploaded the created swf on the website and experienced lots of weird problems like child mcs stopping to play after a while or movies not playing till the end etc.. On some movies, they will play properly if you reload the website, on some others (the one which doesnt play till the end) that wont fix the problem either. The banners' filesizes are also around 8KB for example and include only text and vectors.
I published my movie by letting Flash create an html file, and the exact same problems are occurring there aswell. I mean I got strict mode and everything turned on in Flash but I'm not getting any errors at all when testing the movie. I also dont see any visual errors. It's just the swf acting differently in a browser.
So I'm trying to figure out what the difference between the flashplayer used by CS3 and the one in firefox is for example. I got the latest flashplayer (10 r22) on firefox and it seems that CS3 is using the flashplayer 9 (I'm not sure about this but its the player I found in the CS3 folder).I'm using timeline based tweens (I know it sucks and I did this mostly on the first banners I created and started using the tween classes built in Flash later on when I learned more AS3) so wondering if this is the problem.
I have an application requiring exporting of Flash animations to run on an embedded media player. This accepts a number of video formats. The most reliable I have found so far is DivX. The player supports DivX versions 3.11, 4.x & 5.x. The export codec in CS3 is DivX 6.8.5 which is not compatible with the player.The player also supports MPEG2 but the quality is not very good. Other options are Xvid Mpeg4 video (doesn't work) and MS Mpeg4 video codec V2 & V3 (also not supported in CS3).I have tried downloading a variety of alternative second source file converters but frankly tied myself in knots. Any idea how I can get around this problem and get a DivX 5.x codec to work natively within CS3?

I am getting a data object in rendered list in it i am getting the type of data to be displayed in list ie. either text or image. So on addition of new data in list i want a function to be called up in rendered list that checks the type of data received and then it will either create and add an image element or a text element. So the main problem is how i get a function called on addition of data. I have tried events like datachange and added but they keep on calling the function over and over again when we scroll the list but i want the function to be called once only on addition of data and not after wards. Below is the renderer list code , maybe you will get a better idea of what i am trying to do:

how can I add number to a current variable in actionscript. My variable has data coming though php(numeric data) so I want to create an if statement to say this:
If the data number(let's use 5) is equal to 5+any number then do something.
Should be pretty simple but I can't seem to figure it out right now, how can I say "any number" with code?

Thing is the + number is uknown... so + 1 may not work cause the number may be higher than 1.

has anyone had any problems with addition? I'm trying to get two numbers to add and instead it is concatenating them together as a string, however when I multiply, divide, or even subtract them it works fine.
View 10 RepliesI have a divided box that has 3 panels in it... when a certain tab in tab navigator is clicked, then the sidebar with the three panels changed. One tab might show one Panel, another tab might show two of the panels and so on.
I can turn panels invisible and hide the dividers and ever almost positions the panels right, but the dividers still exists so it's not as dynamic as I would like.
Is their an easier way to add and remove panels from the Divided box that won't take as much manual configuration and hacking to make look right?
The problem is once I hide a panel the divider still exists.

I've created a MXML Component that consists of two TextInput boxes (user can input a "name" and "description"). I'm attempting to add and remove this component dynamically to a VBox in an MXML application. I've achieved addition thusly:
