im trying to add some buttons or sprites on each of TileList items, i even made my own ImageCell class and inject some code that adds sprite on each image but it is not clickable - all clicks are reffering to "object MyImageCell" not that specific sprite

i've a tilelist component on my screen which has many entries (more than 10).it displays only 3 items. i've created two buttons for scrolling. right button and left button.if right button is clicked, tilelist component will scroll to next 3 items.likewise if left button is clicked, tilelist component will scroll to previous 3 items.i know it can be done with tileList.scrollToIndex() command.but the problem is, it directly switches to specified number while i want to scroll (tween)..

I have prepared a simple test case for a PopUpButton opening a TileList with black and red entries and it mostly works, but has 2 annoyances. I've searched a lot, tried several variants (added [Bindable] members in my renderer; added color member to the bids array; created my public override set data() method; ...) and has been getting some answers too, but they are way too general.

1) Scrolling "tl2" right-left doesn't work well: the entries are displayed in a mix of red and black. I know the TileList reuses itemRenderer, but how do I fix the problem?

2) In debug-mode I get numerous warnings: warning: unable to bind to property 'label' on class 'Object' (class is not an IEventDispatcher)

I'm running into an odd issue with itemRenderers inside a TileList.Here is a working example without an itemRenderer: 152.org/flex/

Here is the broken version with an itemRenderer: 152.org/brokenExample/. (I don't have the rep to make both of these a link)Both examples have "View Source" enabled.To see the problem use the broken example, select an album and scroll down one row. Scroll back up and the images will be switched.If you try this on the working example it's fine.This seems to be a widely known bug, but I can't find a solution for it.

UPDATE: I started playing with this example again and found out something else. Turns out you don't have to override the data setter. You can create a new method in the itemRenderer that is set whenever the tile wants to refresh. So the trick is to not rely on the initialize or creationComplete methods.This is what I have for the itemRenderer in the Application.

I am using the default TileList component in AS3/CS4, where a user can upload their images and it is displayed in the TileList by using the URL of the upload as the source parameter.The final piece of the puzzle is knowing the dimensions of the image that was uploaded, but bugger me if I can find how to access each image that is displayed in each cell of the tilelist. I can of course get the dimensions of the cell itself (which of course is always the same for each one), but I want the content of the scaled image within the cell ..

Actionscript 3 :: Create Sprites From Loaded Image?

I don't know if the title is misleading as the image I'm loading is actually a sprite image consisting of a multi-state button. I want to load this image and split it into several display objects (sprites?) in AS3, to create a SimpleButton with an over and down state.

Right now I'm just loading the image with Loader and URLRequest, and then creating a sprite from the loaded content. Is this possible or is there any other way of doing this, without having to load two separate images?

I have created a component that I want to add to all of my panels that allows It works reasonably well.The last (hopefully) issue that I have is that I want to embed the image in the class. I'm using the tooltipManager as described [URL]. I want to display a custom tooltip for the buttons of a buttonbar. The buttonbar's declaration is as follow:

Until here, everything works fine. I do see the proper text displaying in a tooltip. Then, I created a custom tooltip manager using the tutorial quoted previously:

I'm trying to get a button to change color via a Custom class written in ActionScript. I have built and attached an example to show you all what I'm trying to achieve. The code works perfectly with a MovieClip, but when I try to apply it to a Button, it falls flat (can't even find the reference to the button it seems). On my stage are two objects:

1. A Movie Clip
2. A Button

These are both set to "Export for ActionScript", and have an attached class called 'ColorClass'. ColorClass is basically what does all the work (makes a Color object, and has set and get methods). I also have an action layer where all my other code is contained. I'm fairly new to ActionScript, but come from a Java background

Does anyone know the actionScript to apply to custom radio buttons? I want them to function exactly like the component radio buttons available in CS3, but I can't use those because adding one makes the .swf about 30k and I have a 30k limit on all flash files.I imagine the radio button would have to be a mC with frame 1 a drawing of a button unchecked and frame 2 the button checked. Then another mC of 4 of those radio button mC's grouped together and coding to tell it that when one is clicked to unclick the others, but I haven't been able to figure it out. I haven't been able to find any info on this online since everyone just uses the component versions anymore

I have created a presentation which is mostly graphics and voiceover. I have created a few custom buttons to allow the user to pause, start over, etc. (not video). In a few places I am calling to external flv files which have been placed inside movieclips. I want to be use my custom pause button to pause the flv as well, as opposed to using a flv player/controller. I have made several attempts such as:

I'm trying to get my website updated, which normally would not be a big deal, except that during the course of updates, I discovered my site was created using AS1 and now I have to convert to AS3, which seems like a foreign language to me. I'm making progress, except that my latest problem relates to custom buttons.On a couple of my pages I made a static text box into a movie clip and placed it behind a mask. I made custom buttons to fit into the look and feel of my site, which control the "text box movie clip". I don't want to use the generic "UI Scroll" that Flash gives you (even though it's probably the easy way out) because it doesn't fit with my site design.I was given code to use for my buttons, but I get an error when I test my movie.The error I get is an 1120 Error: "Access of Undefined Property" on lines 3 and 14.[code]

how to create a custom scroll bar without using the UI components. Unfortunately, the author has deleted the video but still provides the source files which I have began to pick apart. Although this scroll bar works great, I am working on a movieclip of scrollable thumbnails that only uses buttons to scroll and not the scrollbar it self. it seems as though the buttons control the movie clip based on the position of the scroll bar/scroller.

I'm updating my website and found out that I originally created it using AS1. I now need to update to AS3 and am having difficult time learning AS3 or even catching on to the basics. On two of my pages, I created a static text box, which I turned into a movie clip to have controlled by buttons. I got my down button to work, but I'm still having a problem with my up button. I can get it to work if I use the same code as my "down", but then my movie clip text continue scrolling down, instead of up. Here is my current set up:

Movie clip controller that is 3 frames:
Frame 1: stop action
Frame 2: blank
Frame 3: gotoAndPlay(2);

I have made a script for a custom cursor, but the only problem is that when I hover the cursor over a button, the button shows on top of it and the cursor hides underneath and you can't really see what you're trying to click.

I'm sure custom buttons act differently than the mx button component, and that is why I'm having this problem...I'm working on a project where the actionscript is all inclusive in its own file (I'm trying to be a good OOP programmer in flash here) For this project I had a regular mx button within the fla, I gave it an instance name and properly linked it so within the .as, I was able to say:[actionscript]my_btn.addEventListener("click", myObject_eh);[/actionscript]you would click on the button and it would work.However I do not want to use the regular mx button so I created my own button, same instance name and everything what is the proper syntax to get this to work in similar fashion
