ActionScript 3.0 :: Clicking A Custom Image Component With Embedded Image?

I have created a component that I want to add to all of my panels that allows It works reasonably well.The last (hopefully) issue that I have is that I want to embed the image in the class. Doing this causes the click event not to fire.If I us"this.source='assets/info.png'" everything works OK. If however, I embed the image as shown below, the image displays, but is not clickable.

I'm having a panel which shows an image and control bar with buttons in the form of thumbnail image of right mark. When a user clicks on the thumbnail of right mark I want to stick the thumbnail image of that right mark to the mouse pointer and when he clicks on the image, the thumbnail related image should be paste on the image. Same concept of drag and drop with click event.

I am trying to replace some code which loaded an external image and triggered and function once completed with code that uses and embedded image. The relevant code looks like this.

The commented out section is where it used to take the loaded image and apply it to a texturemap.I need to replace the lines of code in the first function with something that calls the second function correctly.
I have tried using function imageLoadComplete (e:Event = null)and calling it with imageLoadComplete(); in the first function but although it compile and runs without error, the program does not work properly. I suspect this is to do with the dispatchEvent(); line which I do not understand.

In order to make something work correctly, I need to simulate the user clicking on an image which doubles as a button and calls yet another function. I've tried simply calling the function, but it didn't work... for some reason, it only seems to work when the user clicks the button. Is it possible to 1) simulate clicks and 2) make the application think that the user clicks on a specific image?
Full story - My application (a scheduling application) allows the user to replace one student with another. In order to do this, the user can bring up a list of available students. Once the list is presented, and the user selects a new students name, that new name is supposed to replace the old name. Instead, the text box simply goes blank. Now, if I click a image (which acts like a button) that increases the length of a that scheduled activity by one day, the name appears for whatever reason. I've tried simply calling the function that increases the number of days, but it doesn't work. For some reason, it would appear that only the user clicking the image (button) seems to make the new user name show up in the text box. This is why I would like to simulate the user clicking the "increase by 1 day" image.

i'm making a small "add news" movie for a site in actionscript.When I insert an image in my textField, I can only move the cursor with my keys and not with my mouse anymore.I put the image always in front. I also have to click one time in my textfield, otherwise my text appears under my image. When I click it aligns to the right.

I am trying to embed an image (PNG) in my SWF and display it with a Sprite. Below is my code, which displays nothing.

I eventually want a class that extends Sprite and contains multiple embedded images, which I load randomly on every instantiation of that class.
I am working on a small project by writing .AS files in a text editor and compiliing from the command line with MXMLC. I have completed most of my project, but am stuck figuring out how to embed images and get them into a Sprite.

So what I am curious about is if it is possible and how, to have an embedded video and capture the thumbnail. There are other sites that share video and I'd like to get the thumbnails from the embedded videos, but they use flash video players to show the video and likely use flashvars to pull up the right video.
I've been trying to automate some of the capture of thumbnails and embedded videos but have no clue how to get remote thumbnails from these videos.

I need to upload an image to a SWF, however I can't use ActionScript for it because the client wants drag-and-drop capability. I figure that I can make the upload button cause a popup, where there is JavaScript for drag-and-drop. The SWF allows for some photo manipulation, so the image needs to be uploaded, and be in the SWF for that use. how can I make that image accessible to the SWF file?

on my site I have a dynamic text field and text is coming in from XML files..in the xml I embedded an image. Every time you click a button on the menu it changes the text and the image to correspond with that xml file. So here is my problem. When you click on a button it first tries to load all the text then resizes it in order to accommodate the image causing this "flicker" effect everytime you click. [URL]

want to preload the embedded swf's as you would images using javascript or css. I have so far been unsuccessful. I am trying to avoid having the great big white patches in the site while the menu or stocklist(on the stocklist page) load, and id prefer not to have a loading bar while it does. If possible id like to have all images and swf's loaded and cached before the page is displayed so it appears seemingly instantly. Is this possible?I first attempted to do this with a standard image preloading javascript and failed. Is it at all possible to preload swf's with javascript, if not what are my options?

I have a dynamic text field called a_txt on stage. And following code

So basically I'm embedding an image in the dynamic textfield, which is html enabled using img tag.
However the img sticks either to the left or right border of the textfield (by using align attribute of img).
But if I want to place the image anywhere between the text, tht's not possible.

i want to rotate 3D an Image called img1 in Flex. I want to rotate it around y axis 180 degree. I can do this by using 3D effect already built in Flex but i want to do a bit more different. I want during rotating, there's another image called img2 appear on back of img1 (in default case, the image appear on the back is img1) and when rotating finish, the image will be img2.

I have embedded a flv video onto the stage. I then have loaded in an image which is transparent enough to see the video through it. The problem is I cant now access the video player to control it. Is there anyway to bring the embedded video on the stage above the loaded in image so I can actually click play on the control bar and play the video?

i'm trying to create a button in actionscript 3 that will be made by a custom image ( a car.jpg from my HDD ). Is it possible to do that with SimpleButton class ( i mean is there a way to load the image and attach it to the button ?) or is there another way? If i would like to have animation also in the button when let's say i roll over the mouse pointer from the button what do i have to do?
ps: i would like to use only actionscript 3 ( i mean all the project is done as a .as file that is linked to Document class ).

Quite simply, is there a way to put a custom image in the installer of an AIR application, for example to the left.
