Jun 25, 2010I need to create (with an App in php) a xmas card with an image and text in swf format..but without depending of xml file or sql db... just the swf file.

Aug 11, 2010on my site I have a dynamic text field and text is coming in from XML files..in the xml I embedded an image. Every time you click a button on the menu it changes the text and the image to correspond with that xml file. So here is my problem. When you click on a button it first tries to load all the text then resizes it in order to accommodate the image causing this "flicker" effect everytime you click. [URL]

Nov 22, 2010I have created a component that I want to add to all of my panels that allows It works reasonably well.The last (hopefully) issue that I have is that I want to embed the image in the class. Doing this causes the click event not to fire.If I us"this.source='assets/info.png'" everything works OK. If however, I embed the image as shown below, the image displays, but is not clickable.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Bitmap Data - Display The Image When Compile The File Into A Swf??
Nov 5, 2010I imported a image file to my library and exported it for Actionscript. Which it created a new class that extends the bitmapdata class. Do I create an instance of that data and pass it to a sprite and add the sprite to the stage so I can display the image when I compile the file into a swf? Ive tried that and get an error saying that I need two arguments. I guess im just not sure what to do with the bitmapdata class.

Jun 10, 2009I am trying to replace some code which loaded an external image and triggered and function once completed with code that uses and embedded image. The relevant code looks like this.

The commented out section is where it used to take the loaded image and apply it to a texturemap.I need to replace the lines of code in the first function with something that calls the second function correctly.
I have tried using function imageLoadComplete (e:Event = null)and calling it with imageLoadComplete(); in the first function but although it compile and runs without error, the program does not work properly. I suspect this is to do with the dispatchEvent(); line which I do not understand.
Flex :: AS3 Flash Compile - Exclude Functions From Compile?
Jun 7, 2011There is probably no way for this but does anyone know a method of excluding certain functions from a build by use of a meta tag and or compiler option?I want to expose some functions for testing but not have them bloat the application on production. I could create separate testing classes and test for a complier directive or option and only load them if necessary but I like the idea of having the test function on the actual object (in the class).

Jan 16, 2011So, I have some basic actionscript code. It's a legacy site, so I'm using AS2. The line of code simply does this:
myField.text = "some text"
So, I select the text field on the stage, then ensure the font is embedded. All the glyphs I want are checked, but then when I compile and test, the fonts don't show up when the code is executed. Instead, the textfield is blank! What happened?! Where did the text go?
I should mention that the .swf which I compile is loaded into another parent .swf during runtime. If that parent .swf does not contain embedded fonts, is that why it's broken?

Aug 8, 2011It's what this image describes:For some reason, I cannot use bold tags to set the TLF text to bold, even though both the regular and bold fonts are embedded.so that the webpage that embeds this movie can call its function (otherwise the movie itself will be wrapped by TLF).his is not exactly a question since there is an obvious solution to this. Just set the htmlText as something like "<font face='Myriad Web Pro'><b>BOLD</b></font>" and you're done.hs issue is, why does it not render the bold text without the font tag in the first place, if I have already set the font of the TLF text in the PI?

I am working on a small project by writing .AS files in a text editor and compiliing from the command line with MXMLC. I have completed most of my project, but am stuck figuring out how to embed images and get them into a Sprite.
Php :: Getting/generating An Image From Embedded Flash Video?
Nov 28, 2009So what I am curious about is if it is possible and how, to have an embedded video and capture the thumbnail. There are other sites that share video and I'd like to get the thumbnails from the embedded videos, but they use flash video players to show the video and likely use flashvars to pull up the right video.
I've been trying to automate some of the capture of thumbnails and embedded videos but have no clue how to get remote thumbnails from these videos.

May 9, 2011I need to upload an image to a SWF, however I can't use ActionScript for it because the client wants drag-and-drop capability. I figure that I can make the upload button cause a popup, where there is JavaScript for drag-and-drop. The SWF allows for some photo manipulation, so the image needs to be uploaded, and be in the SWF for that use. how can I make that image accessible to the SWF file?

Aug 24, 2008want to preload the embedded swf's as you would images using javascript or css. I have so far been unsuccessful. I am trying to avoid having the great big white patches in the site while the menu or stocklist(on the stocklist page) load, and id prefer not to have a loading bar while it does. If possible id like to have all images and swf's loaded and cached before the page is displayed so it appears seemingly instantly. Is this possible?I first attempted to do this with a standard image preloading javascript and failed. Is it at all possible to preload swf's with javascript, if not what are my options?

So basically I'm embedding an image in the dynamic textfield, which is html enabled using img tag.
However the img sticks either to the left or right border of the textfield (by using align attribute of img).
But if I want to place the image anywhere between the text, tht's not possible.

The problem is I cant now access the video player to control it. Feb 3, 2004I have a main flash movie that loads each link as seperate swf's inside an empty mc.. and inside THOSE swf's they load another swf for each section, like this..

Now my question is, can I use a dynamic text box with Verdana for my font in the "content" sections and have it come out looking sharp, or would I only be able to use a font if it's embedded??.. After a lot of trial and error I found the latter of the two to be right until I checked out 2advanced's site and noticed that they (I'm assuming) are doing they same thing as me as far as embedding their swf's so it looks POSSIBLE..
