I have inserted a flash menu into the html pages in my website. I am using the same swf file and ebedding a variable name in each page eg. "menu.swf?x=about". I then use a conditional statement in the actionscript to determine which page i am on eg

I was wondering is there a way to have an embedded swf navigate to different pages of a pdf?
Example:my swf is on page one. There are mulitple buttons in the swf, when clicked it will take you to page 3, or 5, or 7, etc.
Currently, when I click on a button, it DOES take me to say page 4, but the content on page is the SWF file from page 1, and not the content that is suppose to be on page 4.[code]...

View 5 RepliesSo what I am curious about is if it is possible and how, to have an embedded video and capture the thumbnail. There are other sites that share video and I'd like to get the thumbnails from the embedded videos, but they use flash video players to show the video and likely use flashvars to pull up the right video.
I've been trying to automate some of the capture of thumbnails and embedded videos but have no clue how to get remote thumbnails from these videos.
I need to upload an image to a SWF, however I can't use ActionScript for it because the client wants drag-and-drop capability. I figure that I can make the upload button cause a popup, where there is JavaScript for drag-and-drop. The SWF allows for some photo manipulation, so the image needs to be uploaded, and be in the SWF for that use. how can I make that image accessible to the SWF file?
View 1 RepliesI have created a component that I want to add to all of my panels that allows It works reasonably well.The last (hopefully) issue that I have is that I want to embed the image in the class. Doing this causes the click event not to fire.If I us"this.source='assets/info.png'" everything works OK. If however, I embed the image as shown below, the image displays, but is not clickable.

i am working on a xml flash website that contains six pages it is a cooking book website when i go to the desserts page for example i have 16 text boxes as recipes names ( they get there titles from the main xml file ) when i click on any of them it will open a new page just like the readmore page (i copied & edited putting inside it (recipe title, recipe details & an image for the recipe), now my problem is .. i want to load a new image for every recipe i got on the website ( in a movieclip ).. but till now i could not figure it out, my question ia " can i load an image from xml file that will be specific for the readmore pages?" did anybody use the readmore page for about 70 -80 times and was able to change the image as many times as the website need???

View 7 RepliesHas anybody messed with PurePDF. I'm trying to set up a SWC library for it and I've gotten stuck on the layering part. If you just put in a background image and a table it automatically creates 2 pages instead of just layering the object. They have a function for layering object but the only tutorial out there is showing how to layer rectangle graphics. Here's my code.

if works up untill that point but it doesn't recognize a table or an embedded image as a PdfContentByte and that's all it will let you add to the layering list.
I am trying to replace some code which loaded an external image and triggered and function once completed with code that uses and embedded image. The relevant code looks like this.

The commented out section is where it used to take the loaded image and apply it to a texturemap.I need to replace the lines of code in the first function with something that calls the second function correctly.
I have tried using function imageLoadComplete (e:Event = null)and calling it with imageLoadComplete(); in the first function but although it compile and runs without error, the program does not work properly. I suspect this is to do with the dispatchEvent(); line which I do not understand.
I'd like to gain read only access to the following parameters of embedded Flash videos located on sites that I do not own through my own custom browser extension/add-on:
Time location of playback head (so I can display the current time in the browser extension via HTML5/JavaScript) Frames (so I can make capture them to an image file, save it and display image in browser extension) Original Dimensions in pixels (so I can display the original video dimensions via JS/HTML5 in browser extension)
Is this possible by using Javascript and HTML5 from a browser extension?

I made a flash mp3 player and it works fine in any other test pages. but when i embed it onto my site it just shows blank. what do i do? my site is [URL] and the flash player i tested here [URL] and it plays. I am working on a small project by writing .AS files in a text editor and compiliing from the command line with MXMLC. I have completed most of my project, but am stuck figuring out how to embed images and get them into a Sprite.

Every time you click a button on the menu it changes the text and the image to correspond with that xml file. So here is my problem. When you click on a button it first tries to load all the text then resizes it in order to accommodate the image causing this "flicker" effect everytime you click. [URL]

I have the img tag at the top of the xml in the "main" section flowed by the text..it wont let me paste the code here cause i havent been on long enough
want to preload the embedded swf's as you would images using javascript or css. I have so far been unsuccessful. I am trying to avoid having the great big white patches in the site while the menu or stocklist(on the stocklist page) load, and id prefer not to have a loading bar while it does. If possible id like to have all images and swf's loaded and cached before the page is displayed so it appears seemingly instantly. Is this possible?I first attempted to do this with a standard image preloading javascript and failed. Is it at all possible to preload swf's with javascript, if not what are my options?
View 6 RepliesI'm trying out a page-flip program that tells me to create the pages as jpegs within a folder named "pages" in the Library. When I try to run it, it tells me it can't find the jpegs. I can get it to work locally by including the full URL (i.e., "...My Documentsedinnerpartiesimagesp3-large.jpg), but I know this isn't embedded in the swf file.

So basically I'm embedding an image in the dynamic textfield, which is html enabled using img tag.
However the img sticks either to the left or right border of the textfield (by using align attribute of img).
But if I want to place the image anywhere between the text, tht's not possible.

Never ever written even a line of action script.I am triying to develop an image editing tool to be embedded in my webpage.The key features I want in the tool are: I have a fixed background image. The user may chose to over lay text or images over the image, with resizability, etc.My questions are:
1) can I consider Flash with action script and javascript a platform for this?
2) Where do I start.
3) what all do I need to start with.
I have embedded a flv video onto the stage. I then have loaded in an image which is transparent enough to see the video through it. The problem is I cant now access the video player to control it. Is there anyway to bring the embedded video on the stage above the loaded in image so I can actually click play on the control bar and play the video?

View 4 RepliesI'm working through Dreamweaver fairly well, and I'm now wanted to import Flash buttons I've created myself into Dreamweaver for a website I'm currently building, and it's here that I'm finding the problem. I have been to the 'get URL Function', but it says something about needing to link to a web page? But my problem is how can I link Flash Buttons to a web page, when my site is still being developed and not published? Do I have to publish first?

I looked all over but I couldn't find what I would think is a pretty standard flash tutorial - so in sudden desperationI need a tutorial that teaches me a way you can make flash websites in as3 have an animation function when going to a page, as well as an animation function going to another page.
