In my flex application I am showing a titleWindow as popup which has a swfLoader and it loads one swf file. My application and the loaded swf file communicate with the help of LocalConnection. And here is the flow.When the popup opens, I create a connection.

I have a flex application that has a home button. I need to reset the application when this button is clicked. I can't use navigateToURL or ExternalInterface.call("window.location.reload"); as its not acceptable to reload the swf file.

It has itemEditor components, combo boxes, etc. as aprt of columns.datagrid.invalidateList() method works to reload the datagrid with new dataProvider data.But, for me it is appending to the old data and new data gets added below the older data. I am not able to fix this reload of datagrid.

I'm making changes to the Flex code using Flex Builder 3, but I just can't get the changes to show up when I refresh the page on my client. Server and client are separate physical machines, I've even re-started the server hardware. One curious thing, even when I re-started the server I didn't have to re-login to the Tomcat manager page
View 1 Repliesworking with flex 4 and implementing filtering using ITreeDataDescriptor.Filtering worked as expected like the following code snippet however, i am trying to create a on-demand type of filter where user would type in the search clause in a TextInput, and as the user types, the tree nodes would be filtered on the fly.my implementation now is have user click on the search button and then reapply the dataDescriptor then reload the data. A big problem is that the whole tree collapses after setting the dataProvider again.any suggestion on how the on-demand filter can be achieved?

I developed a flex website, the web explorer always caches swf file which embedded in HTML. Sometimes I make changes to the flex file, clients computer still view the previous version which stored in cache. How can I force client's web explorer to reload/refresh the swf file?

I work with Flash Pro allmost 11 hours per day and every while i get a error which messes up everything. Approximetly i get this after about 2-3 hours withevery project.After i get this error there is no chance to test movies afterwards.I see a fast flash of the loader window but it dissapears so fast i cant even really see if it is loader.

(thou I was using flex 4.5 sdk, but for some reasons I had to use 4.1, I can explain that too, but its relevant to the problem I am facing now) I fixed all the errors that I got when I complied my code in Flex 4.5 to Flex 4.1, now I dont get any error. Basically most of the error were because there is no Image class implemented using the Spark architecture in Flex 4.1. So, I switched to mx.controls.Images class.
Now I dont get any errors, but after building the project, and running it, I do not see any images in the entire application. I also compiled the code again with 4.5 (with mx.control.Images class) I see the images properly.

I'm trying to use a library developed by a coworker, which was delivered as an SWC.I added the library to the Library Path in the project properties. Component set: MX + Spark, Framework linkage: Merged into code. In the sample above, sometimes all the data in the "Location Origin" will be null, so under the visible property I put a value which is either true or false depending on the data. But even when all the data is null and the visible property equals false, it still stays visible.

In my application a canvas object has height = 90 px & width = 86400 px (indicating number of seconds in a day [60 * 60 * 24] ). The canvas is scrollable and the user can add or delete components in that.Now, I want to have snapshot of the whole canvas & shrink it to size 910x30 to draw taken snapshot in another canvas.Can anybody tell me how to take snapshot of such large Component?I have tried to take snapshot in BitmapData object but as it max width is 2880 can not give whole canvas snapshot.

I have a series of projects that we have been using Flex3/Flashbuilder to work with, but I've recently been trying to move over to Flashdevelop for most of my development but I have hit a snag with a certain project structure that Flex/FB can handle but FD/mxmlc can't with sdk 3.*What I have is something like this:

The resources in flex is added as a class path to the project and I am embedding images like this: [Embed(source="/wardrobe.png")]
This all works fine in Flex/FB but FD I get there errors for all my images :
Error:unable to resolve '/wardrobe.png' for transcoding
Error:unable to transcode /wardrobe.png
This problem don't occur when I'm using the Flex 4 sdk, but for these projects I require 3.2.

I'm still a rookie when it comes to ActionScript and I don't understand why I can't set the dimensions of that object. When executing a Flex 4/flash app that will allow user to browse an image file using filereference for upload to the server (this app is image uploader), the file will then pass to second.php to validate whether it is an image.
In the second.php itself, I have a function that need to retrieve $_SESSION['apple'] value which was set in index.php, it always return empty string in Firefox and Chrome but work on IE9.
Has anyone came across the same problem with $_SESSION on Firefox and Chrome?

i wanna make a dynamic tree using a lazy loading ,each time i open a folder the tree sends a http request to the server, in this script i'm using just static text to test the tree but , i'm getting in the label of the root all the XML text assigned to the dataprovider, then when i open the root folder i got the childs with good labels , and openitem and closeitem events do not fire how could i make them
