May 17, 2011I'm looking at this example: and for the life of me I don't see how to utilize this in Flash. I don't want to build a Flex app... I want to implement this object in my Flash code. But I'm not having any luck importing mx.controls or getting an instance of this component. It's not in my component's library, either.Is there some lib I'm missing? Or am I just attempting the impossible here?

Feb 21, 2011I'm having this problem of adding an image to the textArea in RichTextEditor (RTE) on the fly and this image seems to "reset" the html properties of the textArea.
Better explained:
The user starts writing something in the TextArea (with Verdana in size:12 font settings). When he adds an image to the text area, the cursor right after the image gets very small and the font settings are reset to HUM777B in size:2.
How could I avoid this behavior?
It seems Flex adds additional HTML code before the image tag. If there was any way to avoid this I would be able to add my own settings to the tags.
Flex :: Adding A RichTextEditor To PopUpManager Seems To Be Very Slow?
Jul 13, 2011As the topic states, using a Rich Text Editor with a PopUpManager makes typing slow. If you try it in Firefox/Mac, it is painful. Chrome/Mac is a little slower as well. Are there any known issues with the PopUpManager and performance that can be addressed easily?

Aug 3, 2011I have a simple application which uses a RichTextEditor with a colored background, like so:

This works fine when I compile against Flex 3.5.0, but in Flex 4.0 and 4.5, the background color remains white. I've tried setting it before the text, after the text, before and after it is added to the stage - even every single frame with an EnterFrame handler. Nothing - it just stays white.
Has anyone else encountered this and does anyone have a workaround? I don't really want to switch to a Spark component if I can help it, and I can't downgrade the whole application to 3.5.

The links on the site above have a nice alpha tween effect. It looks like the rollover fades out the alpha so that the links appear brighter. When you rollout the alpha reduces.
What would be the best/most logical way to do this? I presume you create some AS that contols the alpha tween and keep this on the timeline as a function. Then for each button you call the function.

I am looking for AS to control a scrollbar with a button. Jump to headline location.
First, I have 3 buttons. Red, Blue and Yellow. Second, I have a scrollbar window with text in it. The scrollbar moves to any part of the text. The first paragraph is for the Red text, the second for the Blue text and third is Yellow text.
When you click on the "Red" button the scrollbar should move to the RED TEXT headline. When you click on the "Blue" button it should move to the BLUE TEXT headline. And the same for the Yellow.

Aug 17, 2011I have a main SWF that is comprised of scenes. I have buttons that go between those scenes at the bottom (prevscene, nextscene). This works well. On the last scene, I have it loadmovienum and it loads an SWF that has a few scenes in it. It also has the buttons to go between those scenes, which works well.My issue is the first scene of that SWF that is loaded in the main SWF needs to have a button that will send the main SWF to the previous scene in it. Of, conversely, I need the buttons in the main SWF to tell the loaded SWF to go nextscene/prevscene.
