Actionscript 3 :: Delete Specific Attributes From All The Descendants In XML?
Feb 27, 2012
i have an XML like
var test:XML = new XML( <record id="5" name="AccountTransactions"
<field id="34" type="Nuber"/>
</record>);
i want to remove all the attributes other than id and type in all nodes of XML. by this code i am unable to do this. can you suggest better solution, other than loops.
var atts:XMLListCollection = new XMLListCollection(test.descendants().attributes().((localName() != "id") && (localName() != "type")));
atts.removeAll(); trace(test)
I've been trying to figure out how to display the descendants (in this case exchangeRate and PlacesOfInterest) of a parent node with a specific attribute.To set the scene - the user clicks on a button which sets a string variable to a destination eg. japan or australia.The code then runs through a set of nodes in the XML and any that have a matching attribute is traced - simple enoughWhat I can't figure out is how to then display only the child nodes of the node with that attribute.I'm sure there has to be a way of doing it and I'll probably be banging my head against the desk when I find it
public function ParseDestinations(destinationInput:XML):void { var destAttributes:XMLList = destinationInput.adventure.destination.attributes();
I am creating a class which extends the XML class. I am adding a reset() method which will clear the xml instance and its root attributes. I want to strip dynamic attributes from the root XML node. I'm using a loop to step through each attribute and then calling delete on the node attribute.[code]
How can I from AS make this Code: <match_statistics version="1.0" 01_06_2010 16:48> Looks like this? Code: <match_statistics version="1.0"> Just delete the 01_06_2010 16:48 part.
I am not new to regex but have come across a problem I can't seem to solve. I'm trying to locate a specific HTML tag that has a specific attribute/value pair (it may have other attributes, too, but those are optional), extract it's contents as a backreference and wrap a new custom tag around it. The original tag is:
function makeSquare(sgu:String,clo:uint):void { var squ:Sprite = new Sprite(); addChild(squ);
[code]....
Now my problem is; that i'm from another function would like to make a call, that deletes a specific rectangle previously generated by the above function.
I am creating a game in which bubbles with simple math equations are falling from the top of the screen, and you have to enter in the answer to make the specific bubble disappear. The only problem is that I need a system that can delete the bubble(s) corresponding to the answer. I'm using an Actions-Frame code and a mathBubble AS class. I will show the frame code first.
stop(); var cooldown:int = 200; var cooldownMax:int = 200; inputAnswer.restrict = "^A-Za-z";
[Code].....
Reading the code is not completely necessary, I was just wondering if anybody could explain how I could use arrays to remove every child with the same answer as the randomized answer each child contains through variables "mathAnswer" and "mathAnswerString"
I'm looking for a jsfl function that can select all items on a frame and delete all strokes that match a specific color such as #0000ff
Basically I make a lot of notes with the pencil tool using red pencil strokes. But when Im done I just want to tell flash to delete all my red stokes from the screen and leave everything else intact. Any solutions to this?
in shared object Delete specific Items i her store MovieClip int shared object then show Movie Clips in the posistion x and y wit text field which hold the string value the problem is i cant delete specific movie clip from shared object this code
seevoo._visible = false; user_co = SharedObject.getLocal("coment"); i=1; ///////////////// if condition to out if the value of shared object undefiend ///////////////
AS: 3.0 | Platform: Flex 3.I've been trying to figure this out for hours now and I've unable to decipher how to either correct or workaround this problem. Let me bring you up to speed. My user is doing a search, through a Tree component. To maintain the speed of the app, I convert the dataprovider to XML using the SimpleXMLEncoder (Of course this could be the start of my fall). Anyway, I have a list similar to this:[code]If that is the case, I would like the search to check those children and the grandchildren, and great grandchildren is any. So I've been trying to figure out the best method to perform this. Unfortunately, I haven't deviced a way to actually do it.I will need to be able to search the itemname and the parentid. So when I was using the descendant function I was doing this:[code]However using this method, it would never return a value, even though I know the value I am searching for is within the XML variable. So with that failure, I've decided to manually zoom through the XML to find what I am looking for. I am using a FOR LOOP to accomplish this.[code]
I am dynamically creating a number of objects (movieclips) which all have a number of attributes.[code]and so on. i.e sub attributes. I don't think this is possible? Only sprite and movieclips can have dynamic attributes so unless atrbY is a movieclip (which it isn't, it's a string) it isn't allowed?Each object can have suboptions with further attributes associated with the chosen suboption.Later in the program I will manipulate, read and interact with the objects and they have text display behaviours dependent on the suboption chosen. That part (should) be straightforward! heh. One the object has the attributes attached in a usable format, accessing them should be simple.This will be for a store. i.e t-shirt1 has size small, price 10, size medium, price 12, size large, price 14. t-shirt2 has size medium, price 35, size large, price 40 and so on.[code]
This format of the XML can be adjusted if it would make the parsing easier.I am currently reading the XML in, stepping through, grabbing the individual parameter such as category and then adding it as an attribute of the object and it works fine. i.e. I end up with obj.category = 'catname'. However, on suboptions I am having a problem.Should I put all the suboptions in a multidimensional array and use nested loops to apply them to the object?I would still have the problem of objX.suboptionarray[Y].suboptionprice which isn't allowed? In the above XML case Y would be 0,1 and 2 giving 3 suboptions to objX and each suboptions would hold attributes such as pvid associated with that suboption.I could go down the horrible route, obj1.suboption1subptionprice ; obj1.suboption1suboptionpname; obj1.suboption1suboptionvalue; obj1.suboption2suboptionprice; obj1.suboption2suboptionpname and so on and so on for each suboption which could be five options (small,medium,large,x-large, xx-large) and which would "work" but would be bad programming and involve splicing names to get say, the "third" suboptions' price and pvid e.t.c
Going down the route of mutidimensional arrays sounds good except that on say 50 objects I would have stacks of arrays which I'm guessing isn't great in terms of resources?.Just to add, the number of suboptions varies between object, every object has a minimum of one suboption (default option) but can have as many as needed (unlikely to be more than 5 but should be scalable). i.e some t-shirts only come in medium whereas some have many sizes.I have a fair amount of leeway on the format of the XML which I generate from the database so the formatting of that could change to make the parsing easier.
I'm playing with Modules and they work as advertised: the module swf's ares built and deployed in the output directories automatically. My problem is that if I use descendants of mx:Module, the IDE does NOT do all this nice work for me. I've listed the module in the Flex Modules section of the project properties, but still nothing. I'm going to end up repeating a lot of code in each module (to fulfill an interface) if I cannot figure out how to make the IDE do its thing.
I am trying to determine what events I need to wait for in a test in order to ensure that my custom component has updated all of its properties. I was using VALUE_COMMIT, but for some reason that isn't working out for me. I want some easy mechanism for tracing every event dispatched from a component. Is this possible?
cleaner way of searching through all of the descendants of an XML object and replacing all % values with actual values. I specify x, y, height and width positions in terms of percentages, and so must convert these to actual positions - it seems madness to first search and replace x values, then y values,
I got these four errors when I tried to create a button on the stage that would delete the text I inputted in the inputtext(ti). Based on the scripts I have and the errors, what should I write to create the delete button?
I am implementing a flex auto-suggest combobox - as the user types in each character: Consider the string 'Stackoverflow' and user input = 'st'
1) the data provider is filtered to show all items starting with 'st' 2) text is set to auto-suggest string such that the un-typed part is highlighted.
So for instance, the combobox text may contain st'ackoverflow', where 'ackoverflow' is highlighted using setSelectedIndex()When I hit back-space or delete, and check the 'this.text' value, I expect that the last un-highlighted character ('t' in the above case) gets deleted and the data provider is filtered to show all items starting with 's'. However the text property contains 'st', as before
I'm trying to use the delete keyword to remove nodes from an xml file and it just plain won't work.Here's a stripped down example of what I'm working with. Every node has a child named "deleteme". If its value is equal to 1 I want to remove it from the xml file. If its anything else I want to leave it be. The delete method is deffinately gettig call but it's having no effect.
What I want is a hint how to make a specific thing happen while clicking a specific button. Like "if I click button 1, do this". Would like to use this script though I'm gonna add buttons over time and this is an easy way to have the functionality working.
Here's the code:
Attach Code
function hitButton(btn) { btn.onRollOver = function() { this.colorTo (0xC4006A);
i need to change the colour of a graphic in a specific movie in a specific frame. if i have a movie clip instance-named "sidetext" thats 15 frames long, and i want a graphic in the movie, called "letterp" to change to one of four colours that i want it to randomly at frame 10 and stay that colour uintil frame 15, how can i do this?
how do i export specific frames not all frame. ex: if flash has 1 to 200 frames. here i want to export 51 to 150 frames as a movie. if there is any command or plugin to export movie like this.
so i need to make a flash that will do the next things.if user press button "x" on the next frame should display "x" text from a xml.if user press button "y" on the next frame should display "y" text from a xml.
I have been doing really well figuring everything out up until now.[code]How it stands, what is this link pointing to? Can I make it target a specific frame in a specific movie clip?And if someone would be so kind and explain what this is saying in 3rd grader terms.
