Actionscript :: Flex: Selecting A Row A Clicked Button Itemrenderer Resides Within?

Inside a datagrid, I essentially want to create a "download button" itemrenderer to the right of the name of a downloadable object, resulting in something like the following link: [URL]
The download function operates upon the currently selected row and is called when one of the download buttons is clicked. Therefore, I am wondering if anybody knows of a way to select the row the itemrenderer button is contained within as the active row when one of the download buttons is clicked.

Simple bit of code, a loop that attaches a movieclip, which in turn contains a button. Now, when the button triggers an onRollOver, I need to be able to move the clip which the button resides in. I can't get it to work, and I think it's a scope thing; (Where ident_btn is the instance name of the button in the dynamically attached mc):

I need to create an application in which we are changing the style of the application that is theme of the application based on the button click.
I have download the theme that all contains different CSS file. I need to dynamically declare the CSS for the application to apply that theme. I have file name Theme1.css, Theme2.css, Theme3.css, Theme4.css, Theme5.css.
when I click on the Theme 1 Button then I need to apply Theme1.css file as source of style. similar like that when I click on the Theme 2 Button then I need to apply Theme2.css file as source of style. Note : css file contains Style for both application and component of the Application.

I have a list with a itemrenderer. When I put a button in the itemrenderer I can not interact with it. If I rollover the button the list item rollover is triggered but not the button's rollover. I can't click on the button either. You can see below I have a click event set in the itemrenderer and it is not called on click when I run app. Must I override rollover and click methods of itemrender? I am using the following .as file as the component for an itemrenderer in a list. Basically each item is rendered in a TextInput and each TextInput has a remove button as you can see from the code. When clicking the remove button, I want to remove the selectedItem..so I am putting the function removeItem() in MainMxml.xml and calling it from the .as file.
However I am getting an error "Cannot access a method or property of a null object reference".

However, the button extends all the way both the right and left edge of the DataGridColumn. I've tried messing with the width properties and paddingLeft and paddingRight styles of both the DataGridColumn and the itemRenderer, but nothing seems to work. NOTE: I do not want to use a Container or UIComponent with the Button as a child as the itemRenderer - too much code.

What Im trying to do is to activate the edition of the selected row when the user clicks a button. So far I've been unable to find any example of how to do this. I already tried 6 or 7 different approaches but non works.
How do you get the selected row (NOT selectedItem) of a DataGrid and how can you:
Change the ItemRenderEditor or ItemRenderer on the fly of just that row.
Or enable the edition of that specific row without clicking it.

I have 4 navigation button and like home, about us etc.... And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. I've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?

I have tooltips in flex but when a component is clicked the tooltip disappears and the user has to move mouse out of the control and then back into the control to display the tooltip.
Is there a way to prevent the tooltip from getting destroyed on mouse click. I tried calling e.stopImmediatePropagation(); e.preventDefault(); on mouse click event of button. also tried handling and preventing tooltipEnd and tooltipHide events but they are not fire when the button is clicked.

I am using browseForSave() to give the user a chance to save a file before navigating back to a previous screen. As of now the cancel button on the save dialog just closes the save dialog. I want to see if the cancel button was clicked, and if so continue navigating back to the previous screen without saving. Right now the person has to save the file in order to move back. I have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.

The rollover and rollout animations play flawlessly, but I'm at a loss as to how to give each button a sticky "active" state. I've created an Flex app. It currently has an drop down menu. With the option to select a Channel. Once the channel is selected the data pulls through. But, what I want to do is just pull through one channel of data as opposed to multiple items of data. How can I achieve this?

My goal is to create a generic function that selects a value in a combobox according to a value. (My comoBox holds arrayCollection as dataProvider.) The difficulty is infact to get a propertyname in runtime mode.
