View 1 RepliesI'm a student building a flash presentation in Actionscript 2.0 for a company wanting a virtual tour of a building. Each room in the building has clickable objects that need to trigger an action (by going to another slide), which we have happening; however, we don't know any way to code the flash so that it remembers where you have been, what has been clicked, etc. so that by the time you've clicked everything in the building, another slide plays saying "Congratulations!" or something. I've been told that we need to use something called a global variable to implement this function.
View 2 RepliesI've used third party software to create virtual tour for my clients website. It works perfectly fine on its own, you can see it here [URL]
But Once I include virtual_tour.html page on my index page it doesn't work, you can see it here [URL]
I'm confident that I changed all paths to files correctly, but still it doesn't work. However I can see Gray box that should contain virtual tour, but it doesn't display it
I'm creating an interactive tour (pretty much a controllable slideshow) and I have multiple pictures now that, if in the correct order, will walk you around my school. You can turn left or right at doors (the picture that you're stopped at will wait for input from either the up, left, or right button and when clicked will take you to the corrisponding picture) and will eventually lead you out another entrance of the school and take you back to the main map.
My problem lies in the pictures... I have hundreds of pictures each one needing to be referanced. The only thing I have figured out is that I need to use arrays to organize these pictures and make them easier to access. I have considered using XML to organize the lists of pictures but I cannot spend hours typing out all the names of the pictures.access my pictures from outside my flash AS3 project.
I want to make a virtual tour of a room in Flash / Flex. How can this be achieved? Firstly, is it enough to have pictures taken from a still point? If yes, how can I turn them into a real tour? Also, is there a library for this kind of thing for AS3?
View 1 RepliesI've done the following:
created a folder /fmsRoot/conf/_defaultRoot_/stream.example.comcopied in Application.xml and Vhost.xml from _defaultVhost_specified a new apps directory here: /home/stream.example.com/fms_app/ then added
[code].....
I've heard there is a package of software that allows you to create virtual URL's for a flash website.for example: mysite.com/contact -> maps to code in AS3 that chooses the contact page in the site.I think it also works 2-ways so that when the contact info is shown in the flash site, the URL in the browser's address bar also changes.
View 2 RepliesIn terms of HTTP request performance should I pick AJAX or Flash? To be more specific, I'm more into Flash than AJAX and I'm currently working on a wide scale web project. I wanted to try AJAX out for once and now it's getting too messy for me. Before it gets more complicated I thought may be I can run Flash on the background for HTTP Requests and use it with javascript. I couldn't find any benchmark on the Internet, but I think AJAX is faster than Flash. So what's your personal experience? Is there too much difference between Flash and AJAX?
View 4 RepliesI have problems with facebook application based on flash which communicate with PHP using FBJS-bridge.When someone use the application for the first time, he/she is asked for various permissions. After that, flash contact PHP with ajax but request is never sent. When you refresh page, everything is working without any problems.If you remove the application on privacy settings, refresh the page and try again -same bug happens.If you allow application, refresh page, in other tab remove application and start application in previous tab - user is asked for permissions but everything is working after allowing application.This is FBJS code
function openPermissions(){
Facebook.showPermissionDialog(/*permissions string*/, permissionOnDone);[code]......
openPermissions is called to display permission dialog, and on allow flash function allow() is called. In flash, allow() calls JS function ajaxCall(), which should make ajax request. But, ajax.post never sends request. I know that for sure, because flash function parseAjax was never called and also debugging tools in browsers are not showing any ajax requests. URL and parameters are same as when it is working. No flash or JS errors are detected...
Attempting to get a flash virtual tour to go fullscreen when embedded in an html page. Have no knowledge of html coding ... Have an embedded button on the tour and a p2q_embed_object.js file (both generated out of Pano2VR). Created an html page in Dreamweaver CS3, the code of which is pasted below ...
[Code]......
Do you know how to build something similar to [URL] I can see this is done in Flash, but I do not know how its done. Also if there are anyt tools that can do something similar in JavaScript that would be nice to know
View 1 RepliesI inherited a product tour template that when published works fine in players 9 and below. But when it gets loaded by player 10 all the xml parsed into the media controller at the bottom of the tour swf defaults to "true". What is going on? Is this a permissions security problem? All of the files are in the same folder and the swf is reading the xml - it just isnt parsing it correctly.
View 0 Repliesis ajax/ javascript functions accessible from flash? in games like those at mindjolt it is irritatitng to wait for the flash file to load and initizalize and then have the page change to the scores page again
i was windering if its possible to use ajax from flash? so the flash game sendds the score/ result to the page and only parts of it change, (developers can even choose to force pause the game for 5 seconds so the user registers/ submits score etc)
and then can continue. now what happens in page changes, then you need to return to the page and wait for flash swf file to load again ...
I got an error message, when trying to compile. At one point it was working, but maybe I screwed up one of the environment variables.
View 1 RepliesI now know that it is impossible to save a swf over a virtual server (in real time) which has had its text changed dynamically. But does this apply to webcam video? What I mean is, if I allow someone to use my app on the internet, and this app allows them to record a video using their webcam, can they then save this swf to their computer?
View 1 RepliesI watched some videos on youtube, they are good but not in depth. Are there any good, easy to understand resources that how to use the virtual camera?
View 1 RepliesSo I've heard it's easy to code your own Virtual Camera. Since I am no coder has one of you lovely fellows probably coded a camera himself?
All I need is zoom and it should work with a stage size of 1024X576. I have tried the popular vCam AS3 v1.1 link: [URL]..page_id=12but it only seems to do an aspect ratio of 4:3 and not 16:9 (which is the aspect ratio you get when you use 1024X576) so everything is skewed and distorted.
Maybe there is just a little detail that needs to change in that code but I have no idea what it is.
I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right area or even able to describe clearly what I'm trying to accomplish.I want to create a graphic (as an example, let's say a Christmas tree) where stars can be purchased as a donation via PayPal to light up the tree. Once the donation is made, PayPal needs to return to the Flash graphic with the new star and message attached to it I'd like to do this for various holidays (Valentines, Easter, etc.)
View 2 RepliesI made a particle class following a tutorial a while ago. Basically it uses some sort of a virtual list, replacing the array method, which makes it really fast solution. So everything is working perfectly fine except the fact that i really can't understand what actually is going on. It is pretty confusing so im trying to find the logic in this stuff, unfortunately with no success.[code]
View 1 RepliesI am creating an EDM (Electronic document Management) system which will use Flex for front-end, PHP at server side and Mysql as database. Since its an EDM a single file will have many versions old copies will be stored hence one to one files mapping is not a choice. Wondering whats the best way to do so.
View 1 RepliesI am working in a project which uses the Facebook graph-api to log in. I have the requirement of only using a virtual keyboard (no hardware will be present). I have looked everywhere, but can't find a solution for adding a virtual qwerty keyboard to the popUp. I can put the keyboard into a popup, or I could add the qwerty keyboard into the screen with the addChild() method, but I still have one problem: the virtual keyboard does not focus to the textInputs of the popup and when i press a key, everything "explooota".
I mean... when i prees the virtual key, i call a java function wich simulate a physical keyboard, but i lose the focus into the facebook input text and the letter is not in the textinput. and i dont know how to recover the focus.
Anyone know how to add more pages to the virtual book?
View 3 RepliesHow can I build 3D object - a car which follows the path in Flash (like in 3d MAX's Path Constrant do)? I wanted to create a virtual map of our field, where stated our office, and wanted to animate a car which follows the paths (streets) showing how can you get to us. Ok, I can build streets in 3d Swift express (paint them from top then Commands -> 3d Swift Express), there are static, but the car must drive and turn in cross sections (so the car must drawn from each side).
View 0 RepliesSo i am building a virtual keyboard, letters and numbers, for a touch screen app.[code]...
View 3 RepliesHow virtual worlds do to load different swf? I mean, for example, I want to load a swf for a room behind my carachter, or a book that returns back to the game, after I press a button.
View 0 RepliesI'm trying to create a virtual piano.

The sounds are linked as c or csharp or d.. and so on. The lines in bold are wrong. I think I'm supposed to use getDefinitionByName but I don't know how
how to create a virtual wardrobe. I have the script for it but it didn't work so writing in to confirm and to check it up. A virtual wardrobe is where there is a mannequin and a set of clothes to chose from. The user is able to click on a set of thumbnails and the clothing will be preview on the mannequin.
View 3 RepliesI've used ExternalInterface.call for an onclick flash event to load some xml with XMLHttpRequest. the xml loads. but if i change the xml file on the server, the old xml file loads for the client, not the new one. i believe the problem is that the browsers are caching the results. i heard that this could usually be fixed by returning false from ur JavaScript onclick handler. but i dont have a JavaScript onclick handler, i have a flash onclick handler.
View 6 RepliesHow do I keep the menu static so the animations do not refresh with page clicks? Example would be like a 'frames' but within ASP.NET 2.0... Do I use the old HTML Iframes approach?? Or can I use something more contemporary using AJAX or something like that? This one stumps me... Should I user custom controls or AJAX ??Among other things, I'd like to change the menu swf based on security role of user in ASP.net 2.0, so I would need to pass variables to Flex / Flash application.
View 1 RepliesI want to send AJAX requests to my website from my Flash games to process data, but I don't want people downloading them, decompiling them, then sending fake requests to be processed, so I'm trying to figure out the most secure way to process in the PHP files. My first idea was to use Apache's built in Authorization module to require a username and password to access the pages on a separate subdomain of my website, but then you'd have to include that username and password in the AJAX request anyway so that seems kind of pointless to even try.My current option looks pretty promising but I want to make sure it will work. Basically it just checks the IP address being sent using REMOTE_ADDR to make sure it's the IP address that my server runs on.
<?
$allowed = new Array("64.120.211.89", "64.120.211.90");
if (!in_array($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'], $allowed)) header("HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden");
?>
Both of those IP addresses point to my server. Things I'm worried about:
1) If I send a request from Flash/ActionScript, will that affect the IP address in any way?
2) Is it possible for malicious users to change the IP address that is being sent with REMOTE_ADDR to one of my IP addresses?
