I am trying to create a standard production of visual basic system, on Flash CS5. It's an interactive system made in Flash, but the house style is as of Visual Basic. I have almost completed the project however I am finding it difficult to:-
a) If the user types into textboxes in one stage on flash, it should appear down on another screen on another textbox, simultaneously.
b) How to validate textboxes in flash so that the user can only type in certain characters, for example the user would fill in the textboxes when asked about coding in visual basic. At the end of the screen by clicking next it would check the textboxes and if the characters are incorrect it would display an error message, and if correct proceed to the next screen.
This coding is the closes't i got to solving my problem about validation, I have also read a number of ActionScript books but no luck there. I have also searched the net but could not find what i am looking for, all i got was validating using passwords from parameters.

i have a heavy flash movie (10mb) and im trying to play it with VB. when i run it with VB, the flash movie became slow, when playing it with flash movie alone, it's good. is there any way to play flashmovie in Visual basic keeping the quality 100%?is there any visual basic.net version tutorials around?

the thing i'm searching for my site is something that can show, and after 10 seconds, hide some html.Exactly is for a games site. I want to show ads during 10 seconds, and after this time, load the .SWF file of the game.During 10 seconds i want to show the window of the ad in the center of the field where later the game will be displayed. I've downloaded a html css template, edited out the fat i don't need, so on and so forth, now all I need is a photo gallery. However, I'm not sure how to embed the flash template to get it to run. The map works with if I use the .html file in my original folder but all the paths are relative and I'm trying to make this work in an ASP.NET MVC project using visual studio. I have a created an exe file using CS5 Flash, with multiple imports of swf files into the exe. However, the following problems occur:1. While the exe file is open, I import a swf file into the main program (exe), and when I wish to close the swf file, it closes BOTH the exe file and swf file. I have made a button to close the swf file, actionscript as follows:on (release) getURL("FSCommand:quit", true);}Is this wrong or ok? It does close the swf, but closes the exe file as well, and at the same time, and I do not want that.2. While the exe file is open, I import a swf file, and through the opened swf file, I import another sfw file into the existing swf, which is opened in the exe file, and it seems like the first opened swf file disappears or becomes transparent. I am using a trial version of CS5, and I'm wondering if this is the cause of my issue, but wouldn't think so.I am trying to display a video in a basic HTML file created in Dreamweaver.I am using flash to generate the .swf file to be embedded.I used the media encoder to convert the video file I have from .avi to .f4v.This all seems to work just fine and when I test the html file locally it works.The issue I have is when I load the files on a web server for further testing, it plays the video, but there are no controls visible on the page for the video.As stated above, they display correctly when I run this locally.I have also loaded the skin.swl file on the server in the same location as I have it locally.I have tried everything I can think of to try and can not get the controls to display while deployed on my web server.

Now I need to put it online to show the client, but whenever I try to do this...all I get is a black screen. Even if I use Flash's own Publish as HTML option, all I see is a black screen. the code on my main timeline is like this:

I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf .The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page.The following items have not worked: soundChannel.stop();,soundMixer.stopAll()

A project has various local HTML & video files for pages. We need to be able to embed these videos in HTML pages - but because all are local files we have no server-side streaming.
Can I still just use SWFObject? Are there other well-known controls that will let us play .mp4, .swf/flv, .wmv files? This solution is targeting HTML4 across Chrome, FF and IE (I don't know if IE6 is needed).
I have two separte flash files on the same html page... I want to be able to click a button in one flash file that affects the timeline in a separte flash file on the same page. Is this possible?
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to get a .swf (a game, with three total .swf files: main, title, game) onto my site and am having a problem. I understand how to actually do it and make it run (publish as HTML, copy/paste code in Dreamweaver, etc..), but my problem is having multiples .swf files and them not loading. When I embed code for one of the files, the page will play that .swf file and won't load the next .swf file (Main just contains a loader that loads title, Title will load the game .swf when prompted, Game will run). If I just 2x click the .swf files in my folder it will work, as will an .exe, but can I make it so each .swf file will play in HTML?

I grabbed a template - that when I went to save it said it was an MX version - once I began to make changes in it re-save and publish it I noticed that some of the elements were missing. I thought it was something I did so I copied the entire directory and just opened the .fla and saved it without making a change and then published it and the items were gone again. I saved it in the same directory only changing the output .swf file and used all of the same html files
View 5 RepliesIn my attempt to create a simple Pong-like game, I've encountered a very strange and at times severe visual bug.When I set the ball (A Flash CS 5.5 library MovieClip) in motion moving around the screen at a rather fast speed, I've noticed that sometimes the edges of the ball would be cut-off for a short moment in the direction it is moving.
When it happens, it almost seems like the position of the ball MovieClip is slightly ahead of its own border and thus the part that is outside the border fails to get drawn.

Some technical data:
I've been unsuccessful in capturing the with a screenshot no matter how much I tried. Sometimes I would open the .swf and the bug would be almost non-existent while at other times it was very blatant. I'm using an EnterFrame event function to increment / decrement the x and y position of the MovieClip. I have never encountered any such problem in any Flash app, in this machine or others. Truncating / rounding the x and y values of the MovieClip didn't help. Neither did setting cacheAsBitmap to true.
everywhere i look i come accross with tutorials about how to load data from XML file to flash, but i havnt found any article how u insert or update data in xml from flash. how is it done? i need to insert texts from a textbox in flash into xml file after i press a submit botton.
