how can I change my rulers' zero points on the stage? In Photoshop I just drag new points from the top left corner, but that doesn't seem to work in Flash. This is very useful for me, e.g., setting "0" at the center of the stage, or quickly measuring some space.

View 2 RepliesI am having a problem with Flash.I get the message Movie not loaded if I right clich where the video should be.I may have set the hardware acceleration on/off by mistake, but I cannot get the Settings manager to open to check it.I am running Feroda rc14.If I go to http:[url].... and right click in to white area at the top, I get the message 'Movie not loaded' and the flash version - 10.2.159.1. This is where I should be able to open the settings window.Where does Flash store that info on my PC? How can I check it/change it without Settings manager?

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to change a Flash animation into a Quicktime movie to post to YouTube, which I've done with a much smaller file, but have had trouble with a larger 2.6M file. When testing Flash movie I get dialog box saying- Content will not stream... Change Runtime Shared Library Library > Advanced ActionScript 3.0 in Publish Settings. So I enter Publish Settings, on Formats I leave Flash and HTML checked. Select center tab for Flash, click on settings for ActionScript 3.0 in scripting box. In Advanced ActionScript Settings dialog at the bottom I've tried changing the Runtime Shared Library drop down to the Merged into Code option but it didn't help. The other option is the Preloader Method, where I think the problem is, but when it is changed form Preloader SWF to custom the Preloader SWF box at the very bottom empties and when the movie is published I get a warning of no Librarys linked and when movie is played int the Quicktime player some of the animations fragment and leave the fragment as remnants.

2) In the header file there are several pics. Beside the pics there are scroll over buttons. Id like the first button, that says domestic contract, open when the page loads.
I have a file I am working on that was coded in AS1 and I need to Publish in AS2 (so I can incorporate an AS2 Gallery I have). When I change the publish settings to AS2 I get errors on a couple pieces of code. I will paste them below and attach an Error Log txt file as well.

this is for a loader on an already created flash. Which I am updating. All I am doing is changing a picture that has no coding with it, and changing the publish settings. The publish setting for the original was set for flash player 5, however I need it set to flash player 8. After I change these settings and export the movie to a .swf, I get the errors.Has the action script changed that much from flash 5 to flash 8?

Since Flash doesn't allow you to specify exact coordinates to place guides, I wanted to create a command to "fit guides to stage". When manually dragging and watching the "Info" panel, you always end up skipping pixels, causing you to zoom way in for precise coordinates.
I can't seem to find (and it's possible it doesn't exist) a way to place guides on the stage using JSFL.

I have two artworks on stage which have a common shape within the artwork. I need to make the one I have just added to stage fit the prior one by getting that common shape the same size for both. In Freehand I would drag the junction of the two rulers out onto stage to the left edge of the item, to create a zero point from which to take a measurement. I would drag a guide out to the right edge and read from the info panel an x value, thats my width, or double click the guide to get a reading from the guides palette. Repeat that for the other artwork then get a calculator and divide one measurement by the other to work out the scaling factor I need.
How in CS5 Flash does one place a ruler zero point on stage ? I can drag guides out, but how do I make the left hand guide to be zero ?
what i'm trying to create is a map system with pan and zoom functions similar to google maps. that part is easy. what i'm having trouble with is figuring out how to scale the coordinates at the top and left of the map.so if at 100% my map is viewable from mile 0 to mile 99 (numbers are only for the sake of example) then when i zoom in on the center to 150% i would need to show coordinates from mile 25 to mile 75 ... i think if that example is not clear just look at flash or photoshop. when you zoom in just look how the ruler around the stage changes with the zoom level.

View 1 RepliesI'm developing an AIR app using CS3. I had previously made one AIR app without much problems. So I start a new file and fill out the AIR settings (found under Commands). But the damn thing keeps screwing up settings. Some stay saved, some don't. It also keeps wanting to keep 2 files for inclusion that don't exist and are not even named correctly.
And now, after trying to fix some of the naming, it won't even create an AIR app anymore. It says there's a missing SWF file, but I published first, multiple times and yet, it doesn't see the swf.
make an interactive flash simulation of a display that has several different settings. these need to work individually so that the user can set the different indicators to the number they want. the picture shows the two main functions; a number indicator and a status bar (kind of like the reception bar on a phone).i have tried to get .swf files to load on top of each other, but they keep erasing previous settings in other indicators. is there a way to get this to work? or maybe a completely different approach that would be smoother? or can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial or a template that has this function?
View 4 RepliesYes, I am currently running into an issue concerning publishing settings with Flash Professional CS4. I know how to make things animated in the publish setting, but things come out like the saturation is not all there in a project. I have no clue what to choose for the options to achieve the desired effect I want. It just looks drained of color. When I import items to the stage everything looks so clear and perfect, but when I go to publish it as a .gif animated it looks so bland. I'm sure Flash users are familiar to the settings provided for the .gif tab, if not I can give a list of everything thats there. I have included a screenshot of what my dialog box looks like as well.
