Does Flex CSS selectors support pseudo-classes? I want to use different backgroundColor for a canvas based on mouse over and out. I am currently listening to MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_OUT events and changing the styleName property in the handler functions.
Is there a way I can specify canvasStyle:hover or something?
as possible because I'm having a competition of some sort of..... In Flash Action Script Language Form the code of Vector Intersection will be in this way:
Code: v3={vx:v2.p0.x-v1.p0.x, vy:v2.p0.y-v1.p0.y}; var t=perP(v3, v2)/perP(v1, v2);
I have a IP Camera setup which, when an event is triggered, uploads a bunch of jpegs to my webserver in a timestamped directory. I want to create a flash app which takes images from an individual directory, strings them together and creates a watchable clip as opposed to flicking through each image individually.
I am trying to do a simple "pseudo 3D" rotation of a movie clip. The clip would "flip" on to the screen. I have created the effect using PaperVision3D, however, the final SWF is about 64k and my project requires a smaller file size. I tried to create the flip effect manually by creating skewed versions of the clip and tweening between them, except this doesn't work because the shape is not tweaked along the vanishing point as it should be. It looks like perhaps I could accomplish what I want to do using the MatrixTransformer but I've not had much luck so far.
I have a components and classes project library. Within the library, flex builder only seems to display content/code assist options for top level classes (e.g. arguments, Array) but not other classes such as VBox. Also, within the non top level classes, class properties are not provided by content assist.
If I create a Flex Library project, am I able to use Flex classes from within the library?
The reason I ask is because I'm working in a Flex Library project and trying to use the mx.rpc.soap package. I can import the the package without an issue, and even get code hinting making me think the package is available. Of course I can even see the swcs included in the project. However, when I try to instantiate the WebService class, I get an error when building. Flash Buidler IDE doesn't tell me what the error is, and I don't go into debug mode when I continue with building. I haven't tried connecting to the service yet, just importing the Class and creating a new instance.
The examples I'll use don't do anything - they're classes without ANY members - no variables, methods, anything.
Let's say I extends Sprite and call it MySprite.
I save it in test.core
[code]...
Now I create another custom class called MyWindow that extends MySprite.
I save it in test.windows
[code]...
Then I create another class that extends MyWindows (the example I'll use is a document class - but that doesn't matter - I've tested using an instance too).
[code]...
Notice that I'm not even trying to instantiate the helper classes - just having them there throws the error.
If there is only a single helper class, everything runs fine.
Also note that - as far as I can tell - this only happens when extending one class from another package, then extending that class with more than one helper object.I'm pretty sure there's no namespace bumps or typographical errors, as this is a very pared-down version of the original application.
EDIT: seems the problem exists even without the crossing packages - even extending MySprite in the document class with multiple internal classes generates this error.
I am creating a library in AS3. Inside the library I make use of a bunch of classes/packages that need not be exposed to the end user of my lib. I want to only expose one of these classes.
I guess my questions are:
1) How are libraries commonly distributed in AS3?
2) Is there a .jar equivalent in AS3 that developers can include, but will only have access/knowledge of the classes I've declared as public?
Why are there two different HTTPService classes in Flex?thisandthisAnd the second one inherits the first one.Why couldn't there be a single class combining the two?
I have an actionscript project which uses visual symbols from an SWC. I have a CheckoutButton which has the following class associated with it (compiled into the SWC in Flash CS3).
Say I have four sub-classes of 'Car'. One for each color. I want to have one function that can build and return a 'color-car' sub-class based on the passed value. This is a dumb example, I know, but it is precisely what I am trying to do only on a smaller scale.
public class Car { } public class BlueCar extends Car
[code]....
Ok. You get it. This doesn't work for a reason unknown to me. I get 1118 errors which complain about conversion of BlueCar into Car, etc...
I'm trying to build a simple FLEX application. Unfortunately, I get '1131: Classes must not be nested.' errors even with the simples MXML .... the error pops out at the mx:Application openning tag: (I'm using PureMVC if it's important)
I'm using Flash Builder 4 (the version after Flex Builder 3, so very similar to Flex Builder 3) and have a bunch of actionscript classes that I frequently need to reference. I have them in a separate folder/package to keep things clean.
I know that it's possible to create a SWC from these actionscript files. My question is how do I do it in Flash Builder 4 or Flex Builder 3. Do I need other tools? My objective is just to use the SWC in the project and keep things clean instead of dragging around all these files.
I'm making a little application in Actionscript 3. In my initApp.as I have created another class which needs to edit the currentState, which is only accessible from the main .as (initApp.as). I found a solution such that I can reach the currentState property from my other class: Application.application.currentState.This is however not a good solution as it couples the classes too much.. is there a better way of editing the currentState from other classes?
Note: This is an Actionscript project, not a Flex project.
I have class A defined in an RSL (technically, it's an art asset that I made in the Flash IDE and exported for actionscript. The entire .FLA was then exported as a SWC/SWF).
I my main project I have class B, which inherits from class A. The project compiles fine, with no errors.
However, when when the project runs and I try to create an instance of Class B, I get a verify error. Creating an instance of Class A works just fine, however:
import com.foo.graphics.A; // defined in art.swf / art.swc import com.foo.graphics.B; // defined locally, inherits from A ... <load art.SWF at runtime>
I have a custom event class public class FFTDrawEvent extends Event {
public static const DRAW_EVENT:String = "drawEvent"; private var _param:Array = new Array(); public function FFTDrawEvent(type:String, __param:Array, bubbles:Boolean=true, cancelable:Boolean=false) { _param = __param; super(type, bubbles, cancelable);
[Code]...
Both class (Dispatcher & Listener) are Child class of a MXML application. Also listen to the event in the parent MXML application doens't work. Listen to the event in the dispatching class itself somehow works.
I have to feeling that the EventDispatcher class is not the right one to dispatch events to a mxml application or respectivly AS classes, which extend/inherent from a MXML component class.
I'm trying to compile AS files using the mxmlc but the particular class depends on other classes. My command is something like this: mxmlc -includes classA classB -source-path=. com.example.com.classC.
This gave me classC.swf but when I loaded it, it was still looking for classA.swf and classB.swf. Is there anyway I can have just one swf file?
Can I put two or more actionscript classes in one .as file like this:
[Code]...
It doesn't work in Flash Builder: "A file found in a source-path can not have more than one externally visible definition. classes:A;classes:B" If it possible, I'm going to ask next question. Can I place two or more packages with multiple classes in one .as file?
I am trying to learn Flex and Actionscript. I found the Moock quiz example in Flash and want to turn it into a Flex application. I am trying to understand the relationship between the actionscript and the mxml. How do I take the class QuizApp and place its contents in a container in the mxml file?
MXML
<fx:Script> <![CDATA[ import QuizApp; var ms:QuizApp = new QuizApp;
Is there a way to get all the classes in the current application. Say for example you create a blank Application and want to see all the classes that exist, this would list system manager, application, uicomponent, etc.
Is there a possibility to generate the source out of the swf-file? I mean for example if I have my Actionscript and MXML files and compile them to a swf, can I get the source back out of the swf file?
I want to open/convert a class in Flash that has was build for Flex. Now there are includes like StringUtil wich are easy to rewrite and others like bitmapasset which are not found.Is it possible to add the core classes of flex to my classpath?
If I've got a bunch of plain old Objects, what's the best way to map them to a bunch of Classes?For example, if I use an HTTPService to pull in some JSON, then deserialize it, I'll have a bunch of objects which look like:
{ type: "person", id: 42, name: "David" }
And I want to turn them into instances of a Person class:
class Person { id:int; name:String; }
(also to be considered: how about some standard way of dealing with relationships between objects? For example, if the Person had an additional "spouse" field:
{ type: "person", spouse: 61, ... } // Where 61 is the ID of the spouse )
When I try to do this in an AS CDATA block, it tells me I can't have a class declared within a class (the MX:Application itself). Makes sense. But where and how do I do it?
